Abendrot Set- $19.90++ Olive patty with parmesan cheese, grilled vegetable tartare & rocket leaves. Chose naked burger option so burger bun was replaced with salad😋 which is still as yummy! Sweet potato fries for sides, best eaten while it's hot. Can taste the natural sweetness of the sweet potato, crispy outside but still moist inside👍🏻 Came with a choice of drink which I opted for still lemonade w/ mango & ginger, luckily it isn't too cold, quite refreshing!

Käsebor- $15.90++ Spinach & cheese patty with parmesan cheese & pesto. Chose the 'naked' option again without carbs so I can eat 2 burgers straight🤭 Crispy patty exterior, very salty tho especially there's pesto sauce too but it's better when paired with the vegs.

Hornträger- $15.90++ Walnut patty with feta cheese & fig jam. So happy to have 'naked' option so I can enjoy just the fillings sans the carbs! Portion of vegs & size of patty is good. Walnut patty is crispy on the outside, soft & moist inside with crunchy walnuts too for a contrasting texture, feta cheese is so creamy & pairs well with the sweet fig jam. Love this so much!❤️

Chilled Prawn Somen [~$8] Probably the only dish I will come back for. Very good choice for a starter where the cold refreshing somen in light prawn broth really whips up your appetite. The glass prawns were pretty tasteless but thankfully the seaweed and tobiko toppings made up for it.

Beef Flank Steak [~$16] Quite a steal to get a beef dish at this price. BUT... Disappointed with the rubbery beef texture and the lack of taste. Fortunately, there was gravy (not much) to pair with the steak. Definitely not getting this again.

Negitoro Handroll [~$9] Nope, this ain’t mini Godiva ice cream. A similar work of art but more of the savoury kind. Interesting concept where you have raw minced tuna at the bottom, topped with yolk mousse. Tasted more of the yolk mousse though. And the tuna ain’t that tasty.

Jelly Matcha Latte [$6] Wanted to get the hot matcha latte but it was sold out, then saw this interesting option of Jelly Matcha Latte! It comes iced, with a pretty generous base of matcha jelly cubes. The cup was less filled than I liked, and the matcha latte itself wasn’t as smooth. It was pretty crowded and the kiosk only had one lady managing both the orders and the food preparation, so I think that might have affected the final drink. Will come back to try again!

Oily carrot cake After seeing lots of review and people posting it, finally decided to give this place a try. Ordered their small portion at $4 and waiting time at 7.30am is 1 hour. The chye poh was not salty and clean. However, I was disappointed in the carrot cake itself for it being very oily and the wok hey is not there. It kind of feel unsettling in my stomach which I not sure is that their usual standard. Overall, wouldn't come back for it

Achievement unlocked Probably my most elusive food. Been so many years. I've visited twice previously with no success. This time we came early on a weekday and it was fast. Serving chye por on the side is their quirk. The carrot cake itself comes in slices, each one slightly crispy and inside was fluffy. It's refined, but not the very best I've eaten.

Torta della nonna - Lots of pine nuts on top and within! - Taste was light with a prominent vanilla bean flavour, reminding me of a nougat which I enjoyed though it became a little one-dimensional after awhile. - Ricotta provided a mild milkiness, filling had a densely thick texture. - Crust was buttery sweet with a crumbly, biscuit-like bite similar to shortbread 🥧

May Weekend Special - Flourless Chocolate Lime Cake My Sunday got significantly better with Mother Dough’s May weekend special! Their Flourless Chocolate Lime Cake ($8) with a side of cream was very nicely done as well. The subtle zing from the addition of lime-infused cream was wonderfully refreshing and texture-wise was surprisingly airy. Fudgy and moist, the slice was not overly rich or cloying but best shared in my opinion as it was pretty chocolatey. 

May Weekend Special - Strawberry Rhubarb Morning Bun My Sunday got significantly better with Mother Dough’s May weekend special! Going straight for their Strawberry Rhubarb Morning Bun ($9), the crisp-flakey danish was so good. Filled with sweet-tangy Strawberry Rhubarb Jam, the pastry had a lovely Vanilla Custard hidden near the base - love the contrasting soft curd-like bites. The crunchy Pistachio Crumble was also very fragrant and nutty. Crowned with a soft Torched Cream Meringue, the buttery bake was simply yummy and superbly textured~

Curry Chicken One of the best curry chicken sets in town . Affordable and tasty . The curry was flavourful with strong hint of spices . My only complaint is that the chicken had a meaty smell and didn’t give me the feeling that it was fresh . Maybe they could just serve the curry gravy with potatoes 😝. The set comes with a fried egg and some stewed vegetables .

Chicken Cutlet Curry Rice ($6.80) Featured on foodking, this place never disappoints. The curry was thick and fragrant and the chicken had a biscuit like coating. Lovely

Original Mazesoba With Char Siew | $15.80++ Ramen was springy and thick. The sauce mixes really well with the noodles. Char siew was tender. Strongly recommend their karaage chicken! Would definitely come back again!

All Toppings & Char Siew Ordered the all toppings mazesoba (bottom, $15.80) and char siew mazesoba (top, $13.80). I personally like the noodles (thick, chewy, QQ) and sauce, and there is also a free upsize option to 1.5x noodles. Quaint Japanese eatery right outside Bugis MRT- it wasn’t crowded at all on a Saturday afternoon. Total for 2 pax: $18.60 using BB 1 for 1. Do note that you can only order 1 all toppings mazesoba if you are using BB.

Mazesoba with Chashu (Bottom) Al dente ramen coated with really nice, sweet sauce. Comes with bamboo shoots and really amazing chashu! There’s free noodles upsize with every bowl. The additional portion (Slight less than half of the normal portion) was thoughtfully served in another bowl so you can add it in as and when you like. The extra portion doesn’t come plain- the noodles were coated with the sauce too (not bland noodles, don’t worry). Chashu was good, tho nothing to shout about. It’s the decent quality chashu you’d expect from any good ramen house. Each order also came with free-flow miso soup. My gripe would be the bamboo shoots which came along with a distinct taste that doesn’t cater to all palate!
