Elite Char Siew But Too Spicy A worthy offshoot of 88 next door. The char siew was as good as their famous roast meat. It's not a lot, but when it's great, you appreciate every piece. Noodles were fine, with generous lard, but the chilli for a normal portion was way excessive and turned the dish too spicy.

Wanton Mee With Roasted Pork ($6.50) Just side-by-side with 88 Roast Meat, this stall offers a variation of char siew dish that we are all so familiar. The bbq smokey charred char siew was intensely flavorful and paired with crispy roast meat that melts in your mouth; it’s sinful. The noodles and wanton are probably shadowed by the meat already but it’s still good to see 88 Roast diversify their dish parings. If you cant stand queue for char siew, perhaps you might want to try this instead.

Chicken Karaage Curry Rice The chicken karaage was crispy and curry was pretty good. A little on the pricey side, but would come again for the curry!

Double Goodness//双拼 ($12.90) Choose from 5 proteins - roasted chicken leg, pork shoulder shabu, beef knuckle shabu, chicken karaage and cold sesame tofu! (You may choose 2 of the same protein too) Choose up to 3 proteins @ $14.90. (ALL IN!) The bowl came piping hot with steam (they prepare the food only upon ordering, that's why it took awhile to be served). I had the roasted chicken leg and pork shoulder shabu which were really tender and cooked to perfection, well-marinated. A ladle of curry sauce paired well with the don so your rice won't be dry and boring. We also ordered the buffalo midwings ($10 for 10 pieces), taste was normal but cos we were famished so they disappeared in a few mins. We also had the curly curry bomb ($10) - just curly fries paired w curry sauce that came in a really big bowl, so it was very worth it for the big portion. Good for sharing! The menu stated that the fries came with bacon bits but there weren't any when it was served (disappointed though). Prices are nett (no GST & service charge)! Really worth it for the taste, portion, and that the food came piping hot!! Oh and my friends ordered the unagi don ($16) which was really yummy and worth it too! Portion of the unagi was just right and not too stingy.

Ho-Jiak's Japanese curry bowls are not just ho-jiak, but they're super shiok too! The level of awesome is too damn high @hojiak_sg. Apart from their chicken karaage which I loved, their meat bowl with shabu beef and pork is really delicious and worth it for only $14.90 in the CBD.

Melon & Vanilla Soft Serve $5 per cone, its so savoury that the melon will hit you hard. Definitely an ice cream you want to end your day with.
