Rigatoni Gamberi E Capesante in Salsa Rosa | $28 Seafood rigatoni in pink sauce served all wrapped up in aluminium foil. Loved the pink sauce - a good amount of creaminess, tanginess, bit also spiciness which added to the flavour. The prawns and scallops were in decent portions, though it would’ve been way better if they were fresh seafood instead. That being said, the alfresco ambience and service was top notch, which made the meal even better. Rate:🌟🌟🌟🌟

try the makgeolli!!!! we had the GREEN GRAPE MAKGEOLLI ($22 - 500ml) and HONEYCOMB MAKGEOLLI ($29 - 500ml). The honeycomb that came with the latter helped to make the makgeolli sweeter and more drinkable, but the drink itself was alr v smooth!

Chill café which is open on 初二! My bf and I were hunting for coffee places in the Kovan vicinity and chanced upon this café which was thankfully open on CNY day 2! Here’s what we got: • Iced café latte ($6) • Iced matcha latte ($6.50) I had the matcha latte and it was thick and you can really taste the matcha powder and milk! Texture-wise it’s a little on the thicker side for my liking but it’s still a very decent cup of matcha latte. This is a Korean café and they have mains and brunch items as well, would definitely come back to try them! Pro-tip: Prices of the drinks are the same on Grab so if you’re just getting drinks to go, order them via Grab and use the self-pick up Grab offer to get the drinks at a cheaper price!

Tea Break At Kovan Almond croissant was pretty decent. Do give the yuzu cold brew cream a try.

A Homey Cafe Spacious and inviting, this place serves up quite a broad range of brunch food - and at nett prices! Pancakes cravings are met here and it's topped with creamy, overflowing eggs. Add on that dash of honey, butter and it makes a perfect brunch. ($6.50). Would love to come back to try their mushroom omelette, or their sourdough and bakes! Plus they have books here too. (Although the music may be a bit loud for reading)

Bread Pudding ($3.50) Blueberry bread pudding. This was honestly a little weird. The texture reminded me of tapioca cake rather than bread. Nice crust at the top though, and the price is very reasonable.

Mushroom Omelette ($7) Cheesy omelette with sliced mushrooms. Better than expected. There was a pool of oil that I drained out before eating. The portion was alright for me but may be small for some.

Linguine Pescatora | $28.90++ Fresh Buchot mussels, little neck clams, medley of seafood in light tomato sauce. Find that the pasta portion was little in comparison to its price. However the seafood portion was just right. Pasta was al dente but its price probably makes me think twice of returning. Nonetheless, a very homely vibe which I enjoyed.

Cannoli For desserts, we ordered a dessert platter which came with homemade Sicilian cannoli shells filled with mascarpone-ricotta cheese and rolled in pistachio and vanilla ice cream. I don’t have a sweet tooth but this is so delicious!

La Barca Funghi E Tartufo We also ordered a pizza to share and we picked La Barca Funghi E Tartufo ($28.90). When you cut into the pizza, a decadent mixture of truffle pate, mozzarella, smoked scamorza cheese and button mushrooms oozes right out from the middle and it goes really well with the soft and chewy pizza crust.

Lo-Cal Chicken Rice ($8.00) Loving the play of words - this chicken rice bowl is 446 calories according to Kipos’ website. Brown “chicken” rice, sou vide chicken, carrots, cucumber with home made chicken rice chilli. I was really full after the meal and pleasantly surprised at the chicken rice taste it had - definitely sufficient to fulfil any chicken rice cravings without sacrificing your calories. At 2 bowls at $8 with Burpple Beyond - mega worth!!

Big DIY Bowl Ordered big bowl with grilled dory. Delicious wholesome food. Choice of 2 bases so very filling, my go-to in the Joo Chiat neighbourhood for healthy fuel 🥗

Lo-Cal Chicken Rice ($8) Chicken rice but with less guilt - I like how this place takes local foods and puts a healthy twist to it - such as putting sou vide chicken on brown rice. Veggies were fresh. Tastewise, obviously not as delicious as our familiar local dish but it’s a pretty good healthier alternative. They also write the amount of calories of each dish on their menu, which is a nice touch. Quite worth it with the Beyond 1-for-1 deal. They do takeaways as well.
