We got the beef short rib and the frutti de mara pasta in white wine sauce. The beef short rib was yummy- no gamey taste, and the sauce had a tinge of red wine! The seafood in white wine was exceptionally guUuud?! Loved the sauce and chunks of garlic and onions!!! Wasn't heavy at all.
Got the Old School bowl and Gyudon. Old School - cubed luncheon meat and truffle tasting egg, was quite a pleasant and unexpected surprise. But I guess its something you can make yourself at home too. Gyudon was fine, nothing amazing. Overall sufficient if you're looking for a fuss free meal.
Sticking to the gashouse eggs which never disappoints 😅 but the avocado on toast was disappointing cries, should have just gone for the baked eggs boOoo
The set consisted of a main + side + drink! So we got quarter chickens each, along with guacamole and fries, and some sparkly drink. Chicken was tender, not tough at all and seasoned pretty well~ the sides were yummy and I liked the sauces (Chipotle BBQ and another spicy Mango sauce, at $2 each!). Also the place was quite aesthetic 😬
As self explanatory as the shop name, this place sells a variety of udon, more so than the one at NEX. I got the beef udon with onsen egg, it was better than expected, the soup was deliciously salty. The sides - fried fish cake and chicken cutlet were unfortunately not hot and hence not worth the $2+ per piece )-:
Got the jingsyuan tea with cheese foam and the assam tea latte (with milk foam). It's just fine, the tea wasn't exceptional though at first taste of my jingsyuan it was refreshing. Also, the service was slow and staff seems inexperienced.
Got the Toucan and Grasshopper. Toucan is actually pineapple and passionfruit yogurt. I personally like the tartness of the pie, quite refreshing! Grasshopper is an old favourite - mint and chocolate, just that I felt it was too creamy.
The drinks are generally on the pricier side ($6-7 per cup). The guy introduced us to the signatures of which he picked the top 3. I got the Citrus C (sparkling manuka with passion fruit and honey jelly) and my friend got something else (can't rbr) under Oceania which was manuka with aloe vera and basil seeds. I preferred hers, honey taste was way stronger!!! Tip: You can use Shopback to get boosted cashback too, on top of the 1-for-1 🤙🏻
The soba noodles were really good - chewy and didn't taste like those packaged kind. I got the eggplant one and it was surprisingly good! While my friend got the mango salsa soba, could have more mangoes but it was alright. Will be back!
Got the DIY bowls. What's different about this place is that they make use of Konjac in their rice/noodles etc. So our carbs tasted kinda like jellyish? The sides were alright.
Got the Persian Prince(?) & Mojito! I thought that the flavours were quite okay. Can't exactly remember what else but just know that they've an array of other flavours!
Mains were only from 12pm onwards - we got the braised beef cheeks and short ribs pasta! Both dishes were pretty good, and with generous portions. The braised beef was slightly salty and gamey on its own, but goes well with the mashed potatoes (which was smooth and buttery) and sautéed mushrooms! The short ribs pasta did not disappoint either - the short ribs were tender and deboned (👍🏻), along with the sauce which was generous and tasted of wine..? Will be back!
