Fragrant Japanese white rice, topped with nicely grilled chicken thigh meat, drizzled with teriyaki sauce and paired with some shredded greens and a sous vide egg.
The meat was tender & marinated to taste. Just right amount of meat to rice ratio which is definitely worth the price tag. Maybe more greens please?
Chanced upon this promotion going on in the restaurant - yummeyyyy
Choices include: chocolate, Yuzu (both in pic), passionfruit, blueberry, original, matcha green tea. (I may have missed out 1 or 2).
The cheesecake tasted light to the palette. The Yuzu had a refreshing flavour to it; while the chocolate one just tasted like a chocolate cake with mild cream cheese in it.

Served freshly made to the table, they served 3 pieces of nicely battered dory fillet in a basket, atop a bunch of ready-made fries. Soft to the bite, crunchy outer, and most importantly, served hot. On the downside, it was slightly too oily.
Ribs were served room temperature to the table, with unsatisfying barbecue sauce over it. But no doubt the pork ribs were well-marinated and was tender to the bone.
I opted to change to sweet potato fries for a slightly healthier variation, but didn't know it would cost me another $2.50. Well, they tasted not bad; normal.
Korean vegetarian food with a social cause?!
What a combination! Having all 3 of my faves combined into one. What's more is that the food and service didn't disappoint too much.
This is one of their popular dishes on the menu. And it did not occur to me that I was in a vegetarian restaurant for the entire lunch.
I love my food piping hot; and this huge bowl of goodness came served to my table bubbling hot. Egg tofu, egg, enoki mushroom, shiitake mushroom, sweet tofu were the main ingredients herein. The soup tasted just right - not overly spicy nor salty. They also serve brown rice as default (yes, no extra charges!).
However, you gotta order your own side dishes as they discourage food wastage - so it's order as you wish to eat & no refills!
Been craving for matcha soft serve for the longest time. It's my first try at hvala's. When you absolutely love matcha, you love their other variations too. Got the twist cos same price more variety, why not!
I didn't rly enjoy that it was more icy than it was supposed to be a soft serve. And there weren't much matcha or houjicha taste in it, which was rather disappointing. The rice cracker that accompanied made the entire combination worse - it wasn't a plain rice cracker, it was salty and tasted completely out of combination. The only positive thing I got away from this was the generous serving. Would still turn back to Matchaya 😛
One of their famous dishes right here! Although the butter smelled like planta or smth they used (wasn't a very pleasant butter fragrance), the cereal bits were clumpy yet crispy and as usual - goes superbly well with rice! (Although I'm no rice person) Large, crispy prawns where you can really just down the shells too. I love that it's served hot to the table.
A definite must-order here!
Special menu item only available for 2 weeks! The smoked chicken had a tinch of bitterness on its skin, but the meat was tender to the bite. We expected the smoked chicken to be served dry, but it was drizzled with some light sauce, said to help the chicken to taste more tender.
Have been bookmarking this for months and finally got to try it - thanks to my Manager! She got the mango flavour - a refreshing taste with a slight tint of sourness in that sweet treat of soft, fluffy cake layered with famous old-school cake cream. It helped to slightly neutralise the entire sweetness of the dessert in itself. Would love to try their signature kaya flavour the next time round!
One of the signature dishes here - their salted egg covering the chicken drumlets were foamy and coated the drumlet well. What's disappointing was that the drumlet was slightly overcooked as the meat was slightly tough and that it seemed that some meat was taken away from my drumlet ):
Taste was mehhhh as it lacked the wok flavour and it was slightly too dry. Seemed like some ingredients were lacking. The egg stir-fried within was a bit too thin and thready; would have preferred it to be more eminent in size and flavour.
