Cheerful eatery with friendly staff and good food Had the BBQ pork Beehoon salad which was so so good - chock full of ingredients and everything came together so well with the sauce. Fried spring roll was a delight too. Owner was super friendly and talked to each table of customers. Overall, a cheery meal.

Duck pho Ordered the duck pho and pork salad. Didn't like the pork salad, found it salty and some veggies / herbs were quite strong tasting. The duck pho was not bad! Affordable with Burpple. Was quite empty on a Thursday night, no need to make reservation

yummy and authentic!! tried the pancake and beef pho noodles!! pancake was great and fun (but messy) to make too haha they give you rice paper and a spray so you’re supposed to spray the rice paper with water on both sides then put veggies and the pancake and the sauce inside then wrap everything and when you eat it it’s a burst of flavours and textures highly recommend !!! beef pho noodles was tasty but idk if i like the soup to be so sweet but if u do then go for it it’s also damn worth with burpple 1-1 deal !!!

I’m Orh Ni, Orh Ni Orh Ni Orh Ni Perhaps it’s a side effect of turning thirty, but I find myself enjoying traditional Asian desserts a lot more now. From Pulut Hitam to Tau Suan and to Chendol, I love ‘em all. So when I saw that @enjoyeatinghouse offers Teochew Orh Ni with Butternut Squash ($8++), I ordered it without a second thought.⠀ ⠀ Orh Ni is a traditional Teochew dessert that’s yam that’s processed into a paste, sweetened and doused in coconut milk. Over here at Enjoy Eating House, they have added butternut squash and ginkgo nuts for a little textural variety. The yam paste was silky smooth and slightly sticky, and each swallow goes down easy thanks to the lubrication provided by the coconut milk. The yam paste was sufficiently sweet and earns the ultimate Asian praise of ‘not too sweet’. The butternut squash and gingko nuts did add extra resistance to the otherwise soft & smooth texture for a little variety.⠀ ⠀ If you ever decide to patronise @enjoyeatinghouse , don’t forget to order this delightful dessert so you can truly enjoy eating at this house.

My Lil Prawny And now for @enjoyeatinghouse star attraction, please give it up for their Singapore Style Chili Prawns ($28++)! Five titanic, mercifully de-shelled prawns with the heads still on arrive fresh from the market. These jumbo prawns are then stir-fried with Enjoy’s execution of the familiar & beloved Singaporean chili crab sauce. The five prawns are fantastically fresh, as evidenced by their supple & snappy textures.⠀ ⠀ The flavour comes exclusively from the egg-stravagantly eggy chili gravy, which is sweet & salty in equal measure. Lots of egg bits are floating around in this mildly spicy gravy for a little additional texture, but the charming combination of savoury & sweet is what compels you to give more pleasure to your palate. Better yet, squeeze out as much of the flavour lurking in the prawn heads into the gravy, mix it up and, well, enjoy the taste. Enjoy knows how gloriously gratifying their gravy is, as they offer you the opportunity to try & mop up as much of this delicious chili prawn gravy with their deep fried mantous ($2++ for 4).⠀ ⠀ Enjoy Eating House’s Chili prawns are good, but what’s holding them back from greatness is the viscosity of the gravy. Or rather, the lack thereof. The chili gravy was rather runny & thin, and putting any of it on the prawns or the mantous resulted in the gravy just flowing right off. All that’s needed now is for Enjoy to thicken the gravy, and its rating would get bumped up to legendary status.

1f1 tasting portion Tried the lamb ragu and the mentaiko pasta. We chose the pumpkin Pasta with the ragu sauce but we felt another pasta would have went better with the rich sauce. I love the lamb sausage too with the feta. The mentaiko was nice as usual. We also tried the mushroom soup but it was pretty mid. Very worth work burpple deal!

Tiramisu ($8.90) Small and it was served just in a small container. The alcohol taste was quite strong and the mascarpone was sweet and creamy, but we couldn’t really taste the coffee in it. All in all, average and not memorable.

Ragu ($25.90) with Beetroot Lunghi I thought this would look better but the aesthetic was a bit lacking. The portion was also small and the beef was tough. The beef cubes were flavourful, but very tough (full of tendons that were very tough to bite). The sauce for this was quite watery too and didn’t stick to the beetroot Lunghi well.

Pistachio tiramisu 16++ Non alcoholic, it's a good enough rendition but very expensive although portion is somewhat big. Better to share

Etna pizza 28++ Prosciutto, cheese sauce, pistachio powder probably? The cheese sauce was good. The crunchy crust was strong, but it's at the expense of having too much bite. The dough was overall alright Prosciutto was ok, overall it's a pretty decent pizza even if slightly unusual

Focaccia (complimentary) Very avg, and cold

家鄉米粉 Homestyle Pan Fried Vermicelli This was the dish that started it all. Whilst JB has the famous San Lou 三楼 (which eventually found its way to Geylang). We were already mesmerized with Bee Hiang’s Bee Hoon dish. It was even synonymous with the boss signature as we fondly refer to it as Ah Ken’s Bee Hoon. What makes a great bee hoon done this way is to have the middle thicker and moist whilst the edge turns crisp (not crispy and crackling) infused with the wokhey (smokiness from cooking in a wok, some say with the flames) and not chao-tar (burnt).

Crab & seafood Hokkien Mee Hokkien Mee is always appeals to me, not because of the seafood ingredients but just eating the noodle plain would be one of the comfort food I cannot say no to. Bee Hiang Seafood, which is a hugely popular Cze Char stall at the corner of Verdun Road & Sam Leong Street (they shifted to the opposite Kim San Leng by the way) is my family’s go to CzeChar place for the last 20 years, as we recounted. This rendition is like Hokkien Mee on stack. No prawns but the upgrade to a 1.2kg crab lends even more umami. They throw in clams and sometimes sotong, belacan sambal and pork lard, upgrading our popular street noodle to a wokhey-filled Cze Char to create this seafood extravaganza! The noodle used is not the typical yellow noodle & thick bee Hoon but the flat yellow noodle used in Lor Mee. What’s not to love.

Sous Vide Baby Back Ribs | $22++ Pink peppercorn glaze, sriracha slaw with 4 ribs. This was definitely on the pricier side and the ribs were not meaty enough but the meat was tender and fell off the bone easily. Would skip this and get something more worth the buck.

Run some errands at Alexandra ,decided to drop by to Chef Pang’s Hakka Yong Tau Foo at Jalan Bukit Merah (right opposite ABC Brickworks). Beside serving traditional Hakka delights like Hakka Yong Tau Foo, Hakka noodles, now customer can order abacus seeds, Hakka radish ball, Hakka meatball and many more side dishes. I tried the curry Hakka YTF, traditional Hakka YTF, Hakka fried wings, Hakka meatballs,abacus seed (always must eat this 😋) and Hakka red wine chicken. The curry Hakka ytf ($5.3) is really good, it’s lemak but not overwhelming, quite spicy and served with qq noodle and fresh YTF. Another highlight for me is the Hakka fried chicken wings ($5.5). It’s so tender and juicy inside while crispy outside with strong red bean fermented flavour. Ystd lunch was Signature Hakka Noodle with wing set from @hakkapang, located at @thesprouthub. The noodle was thicker than usual noodle, springy, chewy toasted in the homemade sauce, minced pork, pork lard and chilli. Served with yong tau foo and fried chicken wing. Downside is the noodle portion quite small for $8.8. Mixed Grill 1 For 1 Very good value for money. Beware - the pork chop is really bad and tough, but for $10 after burpple i really can't complain. Can give the truffle fries ($6) a miss - it was the thick cut kind and barely had any truffle taste.

Meat platter ($20) 🍖 6/10 1 for 1 with burpple beyond! This platter came with a sausage, pork chop, and half a grilled chicken. The sides included a small piece of potato gratin (hiding under the meat) and very salty sautéed vegetables. I thought the sausage and chicken was nothing special but the pork chop was especially bad. The thick chunk of meat didn't have any hint of fat so it ended up being extremely dense and TOUGH. Oh well. I still prefer their student meal and tea time set!

NZ Ribeye Steak @$24 No GST. Ribeye Steak comes with house salad & a side of your choice. Steak was cooked to the perfect medium. The steak was flavourful, tender and has a favourable fat ratio. The ribeye is definitely my favourite part of the cow. Brown sauce was rather meh thought, would be better with black pepper sauce, or some cream-base house sauce.

Steakgrill Nice juicy steak, good lunch deal

St Louis Ribs Applewood smoked ribs served with in house BBQ sauce. Comes with a house salad and one side. SteakGrill uses the slow cooking method to cook their meats in order to ensure every bite is absolutely delectable, perfectly cooked and juicy. The ribs are smoked well and tenderly done with a good combination of fatty and lean meat that goes well with the bbq sauce. The creamy and cheesy mac and cheese are served warm that come in a good portion as well 》$16 They can get really crowded during peak hours so do remember to make a reservation to secure a table and avoid disappointment before heading down.
