Made a stop at this old-school bakery at Alexandra on Friday and was so, so elated to see two blocks of my favourite pandan cake still up for grabs. It sells out terribly quickly, so I lost no time in claiming them mine.

It's been ages since I last had this, but it is exactly how I remember it to be: immensely fragrant yet subtle and not overpowering on the palate; the crumb light, moist and cottony soft – I suspect far more so than any other pandan chiffon cake that ever existed or will exist – nearly dissolving involuntarily in the mouth as I chew.

And of course, while making my purchase at the confectionary, I had the thought in my head to photograph the cake on the Jamie Oliver board that @missmandyy just gifted me earlier in the week. 😊

First, eat the kaya toast. Hmmmm.. The taste of kaya so light with the eggy fragrance. Next take the one with kaya butter, trust me. You feel complete, you will.

It was finger licking good. But if you have sensitive taste buds, this might be a little salty. The ambience so good, nice chicken good beer. Everything's just so chill. (3.5/5)

It's so picture perfect! But it didn't wow me, it didn't substantiate the hoohaa about it. It's just like a flat cake topped with berries, some fruit sauce. Yea, the skin of the cake has a light crisp but that's all. It's definitely worth taking a picture of it. It doesn't substantiate the cost tho. Well, that's imo. Some people really do love it, so, give it try. You'll know!

You must try. Telling you is only tempting you. You must try.

Every bite touches my heart. So traditional style, so gentle, so crispy, so soft, so much feeling towards this toast. The set is not costly at all, so worth every bite! Whether a dessert or a teabreak, this is all worth 5/5!!!
