Uni Corn Pizza My favorite pizza was the 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒏 𝑷𝒊𝒛𝒛𝒂. Roman thin crust pizza topped with fresh uni, uni bottarga, sweet white charred corn and trout roe.

The heavy hitters were up next, firstly with the Thai Pizza Margherita, which was probably my favourite bite of the evening as this Roman pizza had a pizza crust that was so addictive that I completely wiped clean. A wonderful play of hot and cold with two different kinds of tomatoes used, topped with Thai basil, coconut burrata and shrimp floss that gave it a nice umami touch, this was everything you want and wish for, in a margherita pizza. Next, the Pepper Crab Pizza was generously topped with blue swimmer crab and fresh green peppercorns, an ingredient that you can hardly find in Singapore, served with a Mussel & Truffle Curry, another ingenious creation of having white curry paired with freshly shaved black truffle. Perfect to slurp it down on its own or taking some of your pizza crust and dipping it in so that it soaked up all the curry goodness. Last but not least, the pièce de resistance, the Godzilla in the menu, the towering beast that is named the Crying Tiger Sandwich. Definitely not for the faint hearted, the Crying Tiger Sandwich is constructed with a pizza dough base before topping with slices of turkey, beef, baloney sausage and finally packing them together. Served with a nam jim jaew sauce, this Crying Tiger Sandwich will surely give you the meat sweats from eating it. The fun did not just stop there as we were ushered to the next table for sweets. The “Pineapple Fried Rice” was served, a different interpretation on what we are usually familiar with and this time round, rice krispies, raisins and pineapples were baked on top of a cookie and served with a Thai green tea ice cream, the slight bitterness from it helped to balance the overall sweetness of the dessert. The final curtain call was the Lychee & Sake, a dessert served with chopsticks and took all of us by surprise with the refreshingly delightful sake granita, fizzy lychee (yes, you heard me right, lychee with a fizzy flavour to it) and lemongrass jelly noodles; a dish that plays on the familiar fishball noodles. Walking into the world of Small’s is like entering chef Bjorn Shen’s experimental omakase lab and you can be rest assured that your bellies will be well taken care of by the end of the evening. What started out in a small room that was attached to Artichoke restaurant has now moved to a bigger location. Bookings are usually released on a monthly basis and each booking is for 4 pax, and there is only a single fixed menu at each point of time, hence, the restaurant is not able to accommodate any substitute of courses. For the month of August, it will be the Thai Dough-makase ($650++ for 4 pax), a menu that was conceptualized back in May but was only launched now due to the past dine-in restrictions. Forget about all your tom yum, green curry or basil pork, for the Thai Dough-makase, you will experience a Thai infusion of flavours, almost like going onto a cultural trip but tasting things that you will not normally get elsewhere. We started off with a couple of snacks in the Dough-ritos & Crudites, which were crispy dough chips and fresh vegetables with a nam prik noom guacamole and unicorn dip of sea urchin presented in 3 ways. The former was a guacamole spiked with green chillies that brought a spicy kick to each bite while the unicorn dip contained charred corn and ikura with velvety uni dip. Cereal Lotus Root Crispy with lots of cereal, addictive!

Yam Ring Fragrant & smooth yam paste in thin, crispy batter. Very generous portion of assorted vegs given, literally ate more than half of the ring myself 😋

Dry Truffle Ramen Truffle aroma is strong, love the crispy lotus root that comes with it, noodle texture is just nice too. One thing is it's way too salty for me but otherwise nice dish for Truffle lovers!

Chicken Protein Bowl A restaurant focusing on healthy food, gotten their chicken protein bowl during lunch time and was truly disappointed. Even though it was generous size with all the vege but it was too dry for me, especially the chicken given was so hard to chew. Not only this, the price also consider very expensive. You could probably get a better and cheaper in other place.

For Nutrient-Packed Veggie Bowls This cosy bistro on the corner of Stanley Street serves up hearty veggie bowls (they call them Buddha bowls) that are far from boring. Peanut Butter Fudge 4+(svc When Dining In) Yes it does Melt even when u just hold it in your hands, but that's all the redeeming points. Not sweet at all, and the peanut taste is almost non-existent, just taste the oiliness of the "butter". Neither was the dark chocolate very enticing. They were balanced but not in the good way, felt like one flavour shld have taken a back seat. Maybe a little mean to put this into this category, but honestly im not a Fan of gluten free food in the first place

Duck Confit Tagliatelle ($28) I decided to use burpple 1 for 1 voucher for trying their pasta (mains). I finally trying their best selling pasta after a long time. But I felt that their pasta was a bit thick as hard to chew thru. Duck confit was quite tender and not that hard. But fried hazelnut reminded me of Ferrero Rocher enhance the pasta's taste.

Breaded Oyster ($15) The oyster was freshly made fried on the spot when the customer order. I felt that the oyster got too much for batters, still juicy, crunchy and crispy texture for first try.

Chicken Parmigiana ($27) My sister felt that it was quite overwhelming for tomato sauce tbh. But then breaded chicken cutlet got too much batter inside lol.

Dark chocolate & pecan hazelnut souffle pancake S$21.90 Soft and fluffy souffle with very generous amount of sauce and condiments. Very satisfying.

Most Instagrammable Cafe The term "Instagrammable Cafe" almost feels like a backhanded compliment, where it may be implied that the food quality can't match up to its aesthetics. Cafe De Nicole's Flower managed to dispel any of that notion by serving pretty food that taste pretty decent in a pretty setting. The Souffle Pancake was egg-cellent. It was eggy and fluffy and in my opinion one of the best souffle pancake around! They also serve an interesting menu of drinks, including the Uji Matcha and Sweet Potato Latte which i thought was pretty nice. The soy milk really brought the best out of the sweet potato and bitter matcha notes. For the others, i would rate the smoked salmon croissant as above average and the tart as below average. Not bad, reminiscent of a good laksa bowl! Dry Laksa ($18 1 for 1 with #burpplebeyond) - though the noodles were abit too soft, the sauce is thick and very flavourful, just like a good bowl of laksa. They gave 4 pretty huge prawns which were all plump and fresh! Not bad can try.

Pretty delicious Mentai Don! Salmon Mentai Don ($18 1 for 1 with #burpplebeyond) - mentaiko really can't go wrong and for this bowl they were pretty generous with the amount of sauce! As for the salmon pieces, it seems like it's lesser than that of Chirashi. I still love the rice in here! The onsen egg just pairs well with everything in here 😍

Chunky fresh pieces of sashimi, not bad Lecoq Chirashi ($16 1 for 1 with #burpplebeyond) - pretty generous with the sashimi ingredients, the sashimi pieces were fresh and chunky! I must say they gave alot of rice, but I ain't complaining because their rice were well seasoned and pretty darn addictive. Love the onsen egg as well, as it acts as a good medium to combine everything together!

Charcoal Duck Ramen ~$16.8. One of my fav dishes here! This place does the whole fusion thing well, combining the best of multiple cuisines. Came here multiple times before they closed but looking forward to their reopening! The staff are really friendly too 👍🏻

Salmon King Don from Babasan! Got to try this for free in early August when they were giving out sample portions of their meals to publicise their new menu and location. The rice had a fragrant laksa aroma, and came with ikura, salmon chunks, dried shrimp and an onsen egg. Quite light on the palate yet tasty. P.S. Lychee Rose 🌹 Cake Delish chunks of lychee sandwiched between rose scented cream and the fluffy sponge cake, really yummy on every bite. No wonder it’s one of their popular cakes around ! 😊

Keto Latte ($8) This coffee is intense with the double espresso and coconut oil. Don't get this if you aren't a big fan of coffee.

Awesome burger ($28) This place has a nice cafe atmosphere. Good drinks, neat decor, music that isn't too loud. I wanted to get the breakfast set, but my waitress warned that it's smaller than what most expect, so I went for the burger. The burger was HUGE. There was the option of a beast ($40) burger, but this alone was hard to finish. Besides the size, it's basically a glorified beef sandwich; the burger didn't have many ingredients besides cheese and beef. Overall, a nice place to go out with someone or even alone, but don't expect some rich experience if you're getting the burger.

Acai & Coconut ($11) Simple smoothie, but the coconut made the flavor quite rich. It's also a big drink, lasted me thoughout the whole meal.

Wine Freeflow Food was awesome needless to say free flow wine makes it better. The pork belly was good esp with the crispy n yet not oily crust and goes very well with the mustard n pickled vege. The cream artichoke was great with the bread. Beef capacious was not bad either. Nice ambience for small chats

Pasta, Fries, Drinks Found a nice cafe/restaurant at Keong Saik and this place is super date night worthy!! 😻 This place is so nice and chill even on a weekday night @wine_mansion • Vongole: 8.8/10 This plate of pasta was so well done - the freshness of the clams paired nicely with the white wine base, garlic and onions. The nicely charred bacon also provided both texture and a nice tinge of umami flavour. The sauce was further elevated with the use of chilli which provided a nice kick. Side note: not sure if we were hungrier that day but the portion was a lil small for my friend and I oops • Truffle fries: 9.2/10 This is a side dish that often sounds basic and is either a hit or miss, but ok so glad that the one we had was amazing. The fries were perfectly crisp on the outside and the potato inside was sooo good as the fries weren’t too thin. The truffle flavour encapsulates every piece of fries superbly well, and I didn’t even need the aioli (given at the side) 💯👌 • Dark Choc Lava Cake: 8.5/10 Got this as a birthday cake for my friend and it really screams dark choc. The oozy and fudgy filling was so on point that my video (3rd pic) was shaky HAHAHA. Also really enjoyed their homemade ice cream at the side although it melted really quickly 🤩 • Red Wine, Beer: 8/10 The red wine paired very nicely with the vongole I was having!
