Portuguese Egg Tarts Mother-In-Law is a kiosk in the basement of Havelock II which sells artisanal Portuguese egg tarts which are handmade from scratch and baked fresh daily. The difference between Portuguese egg tarts and the regular egg tarts (think: Tai Cheong) is that they are made of puff pastry (think: croissant) instead of short crust tart pastry. They also tend to be sweeter with a caramelised top. You therefore get a good contrast between the flaky and crispy pastry and soft and creamy egg custard with egg bite. I am usually a fan of the regular egg tart but rather enjoyed MIL's signature egg tart. Their puff pastry was super crisp and butter whilst their egg custard was rich and smooth and reminded me of steamed egg. Besides the signature egg tart, MIL also has a range of other flavours such as orh nee, ham & mushroom and chicken rendang?!? Is this then the equivalent of an open face curry puff? 😂😂😂

Egg tarts in many flavours Ordered @mil.eggtart on @pickupp.sg to try and they have a variety of flavours! I got a mixed box with 3 original egg tarts and 1 apple crumble, ondeh ondeh and ham. They're not bad and not too sweet, just that the crust can be a bit hard at times so I would have liked it more if it was more crisp! Egg pancake 6nett Terrible. The pancake's texture is worse than frozen ones. Sauce is decent but tastes Chinese, like those 煎饼果子 kind Avoid

Beef noodles 14.9nett Asked for less noodles but again, the noodles were more than generous. Plus it has no bite at all, basically mush. The soup sucks even more. It's sour. Why is it sour? Taste like it's spoilt, not like vinegar added to a good soup Beef was surprisingly decent. There's a little bit of heat and it's tender enough too

Guabao 6.2nett Terrible. The flavour combination is completely wrong, there's way too much sugar and it doesn't taste anything like it's supposed to

Vegan Fish Burger Recently discovered this new neighbourhood mall, Le Quest at Bukit Batok with a few food options available, including this small shop serving vegetarian foods. Their vegan burger seems popular here, with a choices of fake meat such as chicken and fish. Go for the $14.90 set which get you the burger, fries, fish fingers and drink. Thai Milk Tea [$3.50] Tucked in the corner of Golden Mile Complex's Thai supermarket is this small stall selling a whole range of crepes and drinks! I went for the classic Thai Milk Tea, because what else right? And ... I loved it! Many Thai milk teas around are either too milky or too strong in its tea flavor for me, but this was a really well balance of both - very flavourful but not at all overwhelmingly sweet! Honestly one of the better milk teas I've had in a long while.

I was just walking around the Thai supermarket and I found this drink stall inside the mart. So I ordered a Thai Milk Tea. And I was observing how the boss make em. I was surprised that she was added tea leaves to the espresso machine! Is that even possible?! I must admit this is good! Very fragrant and the milk is with like foam on it. $3.50, ok la take my money.. hahah!

Not Really 1 For 1 $15 for the bowl but it's not 1 for 1. The deal is $28 for 2 which comes with an ice lemon tea. So it's normal price with a drink

mango tango also got their sirloin steak burrito bowl and taste wise both were not bad but they changed their burpple 1-for-1 terms so now u only get to choose from a menu of 4 items tho it does come w a choice of either ice lemon tea/ thai milk tea… paid $28 in total so idt its rly worth anymore 🥲

Grilled Salmon Super Bowl Healthy tasting bowl with fresh Ingredients! Salmon was cooked well and different components looked vibrant in the bowl. Couldn’t get the 1-1 as they changed their terms and conditions, not as worth anymore as 1-1 limited to very few items for a total of $28 Taste: 3/5 Presentation: 3.5/5 Worthness: 3/5

But the chocolate was quite bitter and not that sweet taste tbh. The cake name is email address lmao :") but the it's quite vintage name tbh in the current trend.  

What The Fish I saw post that they decided to remove old burger from the menu on end oct :"( and good thing that I have tried crispy pork burger before they announced. It's kinda sad for people who didn't really time to try their burger previously at beauty world food centre. which i was one of them because it was really quite far for me to travel over for food tbh. I really like their unique and special burger creations that they derive out from. I'm glad that they really need to change the menu since they still use it at beauty world till now (sam leong rd). I decided to try fish burger ($9) instead as a final burger because I didn't really eat beef or spicy based burger. I like the way they serve burger in hot and warm style as it's like freshly made from the grill. I didn't like it when the oil from the fish leaked it off from the burger and the paper just giveaway. Overall experience, the fish and vegetables got strong grilled taste but then got a bit of slightly "fishy" taste. I decided to order hand-cut fries ($5 under burger set) again since not much sides left at this month since they cleared old stocks to make way for new menu.

good neighbourhood coffee place i love the smoked salmon sandwich! They use kaya toast style which makes it crunchy & crispy! The iced latte is perfect as well✨ better than another expensive coffee that i had recently at a hyped place 😆 … such a gem for peeps living at AMK✨
