This is my favorite place to visit when I’m craving some quality dark chocolate ice cream. I thoroughly enjoyed the texture of the ice cream and it’s deep dark flavours. But I’d say to do yourself a favor and skip the chocolate waffle bowl. A normal cone works just fine.
Not complaining when they gave me 3 full strawberries in a puff for only $2.50. I got this from Dulcet & Studio (Liang Court outlet), and I loved the lightness of the cream and how well it went with the strawberries. If there is one thing that can be improved, it’ll be nice if the puff was warm and slightly crispy.
AND I ABSOLUTELY CONCUR. Crate cafe is the epitome of chill vibes, set out in the middle of a paddy field, away from the main roads. The dishes here are SO CHEAP. It’s approximately $5.5 SGD for this smoothie bowl made with Acai, berries, banana, dragon fruit, grated coconuts and nuts. The flavour profile was great and this was super yummy. ABSOLUTE LOVE.
Absolutely loved my pokebowl here at Moana in Canggu Bali. The Tuna serving was so generous, I had trouble finding enough rice to go with it. The special golden sauce (made probably with oyster sauce) was savory and super fragrant, and goes so well with the other ingredients. And oh, that sprinkle of fried onions is magic.
OUT OF THE WORLD COMFORT FOOD!!!!! One of the signatures of The Backyard Bakers is this signature pulled pork sandwich which was huge on flavours. The pulled pork is stewed for hours and the beef essence just melted in with the cheese, onions and break, it’s a party in the mouth. Highly recommended.
Indulgence is having a really fat French toast served with a scooper full of raspberries and mascaporne cheese. I loved how fluffy the French toast in and how well it went with the citrusy flavours, but the portion was a little too much of an overkill.
UMAMI is the only word that came to mind when you savior this Lobster and Crabmeat Ravioli. Every mouthful was rich and dense. The pasta just al dente, the filling inside was soooooooo umami. Must have when you come.
I might have ordered the wrong flavour OR I might have hugeeeee expectations but this Watermelon Popbar ($4.90 for 1) was disappointing. The watermelon was watered down and was rather on the bland side. I just had one in Bali (of a different brand) and the exact flavour was just so rich and sweet. It’s a pity that this one just can’t compare.
After a while, some F&B establishments become your favorite hide-outs, because of all the wonderful people in it. BUNDT by The Backyard Bakers used to be a spot I visit only when I was feeling indulgent, but these days I come more often as it’s a place I seek my comfort brownie and coffee. The folks running the place are THE BEST!
Just like this cup of caffeine. This iced American white is probably one of the best things to have on a scorching hot afternoon. A REALLY intense coffee iced ball, dunked into fresh milk, melting into a perfect iced latte. It’s so yummy, but I drink it so fast that I finish the milk faster than the ice ball can melt ): so word of caution, RATION YOUR SIPS!!!! Drink slowly. Enjoy every mouth.
I wanted a sweet start to the day, but had a little too much of it. I wouldn’t say this pancakes was wow, but then again I am more of a waffle person. I thought the sauce was too sweet, which eventually rendered the whole dish to be a little too much for me. I did enjoy the light fruit topping which nicely complemented the whole dish.
Do NOT attempt to finish this on your own, unless you have a crazy sleep debt and are a walking zombie. The Kith Cafe mochas are intense - 4 shots of espresso is what you get in this huge, delicious looking but intensely potent drink. I loved the mix of flavors which rendered the overall taste to be just the right amounts of sweet, bitter and chocolate. I would highly recommend this mocha to anyone who comes, but for sharing.
