Bala’s famous beetroot thosai deserves all its fame. While it doesn’t have a super distinct taste of beetroot, some of its earthiness comes through if you eat the thosai on its own. Of course better paired with the carrot and coconut chutney.
My favourite place to go to for chicken rice. Come early if you want steamed chicken – it’s usually sold out after 1pm.
Can’t not have the fusion stuff too, and I really enjoyed this pasta! Flavours liken a creamy butter chicken, and I like that the al dente pasta was not heavily coated with the curry. Lamb meatballs were nice and juicy too.
This new eatery in Uptown sees Indian fusion food while also serving delicious classics. This called out to me and did not disappoint. Firstly, it’s such a large portion (can be shared between two small eaters). Secondly, it’s so savoury and delish. Some mutton pieces were tough but some were deliciously tender, especially when paired with the spicy mutton curry. Especially love the refreshing raita and the pickled veggies. Great dish.
Good for a light lunch, this egg salad sandwich is simple and delicious. Love the added scallions folded into the eggs. Also
Was craving for something spicy and this hit all the right spots. Did not expect to find petai in it but it was a nice surprise.
Semi obsessed with this place right now seeing my new year resolution is trying to eat less meat. We wanted a refreshing side to share and this was it - think your typical rojak with the same sweet and sour flavours. Only thing missing were the crackers on top!
Very flavourful for a simple plate of noodles. Chock-full of veggies, and especially like the addition of the walnuts for crunch. This dish is usually stir-fried with an egg but we opted for without and they were happy to obliged!
Healthy and tasty! There are three soups to choose from and the pumpkin really caught my eye – the vegetable adds a touch of sweetness to the savoury broth. The stone bowl is filled with veggies and noodles (I got the organic ramen).
Another great dish. I like this sauce better as it’s not as starchy, also very flavourful. Love the generous amounts of veggies too.
Can’t believe this is RM11.90 considering how big the portion is – but also it’s meatless. Really like the tenth achar and the spicy sambal in this one. The rendang too was great – a mix of potatoes and mushrooms are slicked in a delicious spicy gravy. Rice wasn’t very pandan-y tho, instead reminded me more of kunyit.
Super delicious vegetarian Chinese food at this shop in DJ! This dish reminds me more of butter chicken than a Portuguese (?) sauce – sweet, creamy and super addictive. Mushrooms were cooked excellently too – felt like I was eating meat.
