Expecting personal bowls of Wanton Noodles much like the way they do it at A Noodle Story, we were pleasantly surprised by Wanton Seng’s sides that were great for sharing. The Chili Fried Dumplings and Char Siu were my personal favourites - a spicy spin on a traditional dish and gorgeous slabs of marinated meat, accompanied by springy “nudles” that sealed the deal. If heaven was to be filled with Wanton Mee, surely it would taste something like this.
It’s a soul food affair at Fuel Plus. While the Chicken Pastas were great, the real show stealer was the Cauliflower Nuggets that had me clamouring for more. Portions were generous and the service was good, too! Will be back here to try the rest of the menu, 1-for-1 or not 😉
The crustier the crab, the tastier the snacc - and crusty indeed was the Chilli Crab Pasta ($19) that came with a soft shell crab like a cherry on top. The seaweed shreds were a little too overloaded for my liking and the sauce certainly could’ve been richer, but it was a worthwhile meal for the deal nonetheless!
You know those places that proudly declare they serve “hearty Vegan food” but don’t quite live up to it? This isn’t one of them. Meat is great, but these gorgeous Mantou Sliders and that hunky Jack Cubano (both $10) can GET IT any day. Only with a 1-for-1 on Burpple, of course 👅
Billing themselves the “purveyors of gourmet Wagyu Bowls”, this eatery located at an unassuming corner of Hong Leong Building did not disappoint. Their Truffle Tenderloin Don ($15.90) had just the right amount of truffle in it without going over the top. Also, the place had really funky decor - upvotes for that! Felt like I was transported back to the shimmering 80s 🕹🎮
