guinness stout. slow roasted. yes we even need a spade to dissect this beast.
A cafe with great ambience, for chilling and just simply catching up with friends. The dishes served are simple, probably a little overpriced. Nonetheless the coffee & food are great :)
Sambal fries is a local inspired dish with French fries covered with their in house sambal sauce, topped with sunny side ups and fried shallots all over. Break the eggs and mix it well before you started eating. It was a little bit salty for me at some point, but it was flavorful with a little spice and the richness of the egg yolks in it. Pretty addictive! 😋😋😋
North Bridge Road is now greeted by the presence of multiple new ice cream parlours, one being the very new Twenty Grammes. Besides homemade ice cream, waffles and coffee, they also offer a selection of tarts and cakes to satisfy your dessert cravings. Try their banoffee pie and hazelnut dacquiose recommended by Tastemaker Jennifer Yeo, and their yummy honey scotch ice cream. We ought to count our lucky stars that in hot, humid Singapore, we sure don't have a lack of cool-me-down ice cream parlours!
Even though we had stuffed ourselves on practically every dish listed in their dinner menu, we made sure to reserve tummy space for Artichoke's recently-launched Neh Neh Pops - a range of fabulously creative ice-creams dreamed up by owner Bjorn Shen. Between the seven of us, three chose the Sneekers, while the remaining four opted for the Strawberry Pockie, Double Chocolate Cone, Rocky Road and Mango Sticky Rice.
If you are a fan of Snickers, or peanut butter, the pretzel-decorated Sneekers will propel you to your happy place in no time. The consensus from the trio in our group who gobbled theirs down, was that the oozy salted caramel hidden within was exceptionally lovely.
Strawberry Pockie is a good one for those who fancy something fruity yet creamy. The person who picked this said that the pieces of strawberry Pocky biscuit sticks embedded in the white chocolate-dipped coating tasted nice and fresh.
The two chocolate lovers in our group were pleased with their Double Chocolate Cone and Rocky Road respectively. The former has a rich, sticky kulfi-style milk chocolate ice-cream covered in a crisp milk chocolate coating that's studded with broken pieces of crunchy cone. The latter, dark chocolate-dipped and flamboyantly dressed in colourful Pop Rocks, Fruity Pebbles and Nerds, is sweeter overall. There's toasted almonds thrown in and even marshmallows buried in the Rocky Road's milk chocolate ice-cream.
I went for the bestselling Mango Sticky Rice because I was really curious to taste the results of the well-known Thai dessert being translated into an ice-cream on a stick. Well, Bjorn and his team pulled it off in style! I loved that the creamy coconut rice pudding ice-cream block had real mangoes inside, and the coating of white chocolate came covered with toasted coconut flakes and rice crispies. This divine decadence is something I would return for again and again. But the Sneekers is also on my radar... 😁

This is the real deal. It's so good, so yummy and too heavenly. The sauce is to die for. The meat are not dry, and just so succulent. Such a rare find, and totally unlike the typical roast.

PS: I still think that the Pandan churros look like mini🌵no matter how many times I look at it.
PPS: Someone's T-shirt proved useful as a black background and I don't remember who. HAHAHA! #accidentalbackgroundmodel
Includes 2 rice/noodles and 2 cups of drinks for $29.90. Very big portion, my friend and I can't even finish. Able to share between 3 to 4 person in my opinion. Good deal 👍🏻
