Perfect blend of mushroom and cheese, their mushroom quiche was a buttery goodness. But minus one for the overly sweet orange chocolate hot-cross bun, as well as the salt-overloaded cream of mushroom. Not to mention about the "not-so-friendly" & slow service :x
One of the popular flavour, the honeycomb hit the right tinge of sweetness. Sadly, the ice-cream melt way too fast, making the cone soggy ):
Had a delightful surprise at the generous portion of the food. The Vietnamese Chicken Salad ($7.00++) came with generous amount of shredded chicken, fresh cabbage and roasted peanuts for extra crunch. The dressing was simply amazing and delicious. With a light broth, the Wagyu Beef Pho ($7.90++) was served with generous amount of beef slices.
Located at the side of the Singapore's river, Madame Patisserie is the place to chill out. The Bread & Butter Pudding ($8.50++) came with a small scoop of vanilla ice-cream. The service staff was helpful and really friendly when recommending the food. The warm Bread & Butter Pudding was elevated by the scoop of cold vanilla ice-cream and had a smooth custardy texture. Will definitely be back for more!
We ordered a Tom Yum Seafood Soup (Hotpot size), assorted fried platter (Ngoh Hiang, Thai Fried Prawn Cake, Thai Fried Fish Cake, Mini Fried Chicken Drumlets) and Thai Green Mango Salad to share. The Tom Yum Soup was addictive and had several chunks of fish meats and prawns. The Green Mango Salad was refreshing. The staff service was over the top. They provided a special birthday service - a miniature elephant keychain and a small card, as a birthday token!
For a $17++ lunch set, you get a bowl of japanese salad, beef udon and kaisendon. The beef udon broth was light. Filled with chunky sashimi pieces, the kaisendon was delicious.
Loving the newly opened slushies shop, Juicy Slush, which emphasizes on making their slushies from 100% real fruit juices and tea. Not a nutritionist, I have no idea if the slushies was healthy, but it definitely tasted awesome! Forget about the 7-eleven Slurpee, Juicy Slush is the upgraded and atas replacement.
Located at the quiet lane of Duxton Hill, Flor Patisserie serve a variety of Japanese-inspired French pastries. Infused with a cheesecake taste, the Strawberry Soufflé Cake ($7.30) was light and smooth. One of the best japanese light cheesecake I've tasted!
Was not disappointed by the Fuji ($5.20), a light green tea mousse with a lychee gelee insert and a green tea sponge base. It was light and had a subtle green tea taste.
The Short Stack ($5.50++) came in a stack of two pancakes with icing sugar, butter and maple syrup. Additional Toppings for the pancakes are available too! Apart from pancakes, the cafe sells a range of food from All-Day-Breakfasts, Salads, Mains & Desserts. What's more, they are having a current promotion: A free Short Stack per table if you order through an app "The Big Spoon". Hurray to more pancakes!
Loved the quirky bottle design and the refreshing taste of the Fizzy Lemonade Soda ($5.00). With a grainy texture, The Orange & Olive Cake ($5.00) was just amazing. Awesome place to have some chill-out time!
Interestingly, the combination of lemon and lavender did work for me. The lemon lavender loaf ($5.80) had a nice touch of sweetness and hint of lavender aroma.
