Waffles And Ice Cream The waffles are sweet and crispy. The pistachio cereal is creamy and pistachio is pretty good amount. It's a bit sweet though. The dark chocolate is smooth and creamy. I prefer it darker and less sweet but this is a subjective taste because I am cutting down on sugar. Overall this is a good waffles and ice cream dessert and should be shared or it will be alittle sweet if you try to finish it all by yourself.

Ice Chocolate Order this drink if you don't like some that is too sweet. So far I think it's an ok drink comparable to Starbucks. I think they have used pretty good quality cocoa powders too. Not as nice as those specialty chocolate cafes but it's a good effort plus that it's a really large cup. Can't complain.

Yoghurt Jelly W/ Blueberries, Part Of Weekday Set Lunch ($25) To silence the call of our dessert stomach, we were offered yoghurt jelly with fresh blueberries. Light, refreshing and a good end to a heavy meal. I can finally see why there’s so much buzz about this place; from sharing a long table with other guests to idly watching the chef bumble about in his element, the whole session is an intimate dining experience that will undoubtedly keep one coming back.

Carbonara W/ Pasta Made In House, Bacon And Grated Parmesan. Part Of Weekday Lunch Set ($25) For the main, we got carbonara! The creamy pasta, touched by swirls of olive oil and covered first in crisp, juicy bacon, then a smattering of grated Parmesan was divine. On the first bite, I’d think even the most errr gastronomically-challenged person can intuitively tell that the pasta is made in-house; each strand is highly irregular, with a dense floury texture that is a welcome change from the mass-produced smoothness that we’re so used too! Coupled with the generous portion, we were surprisingly stuffed by the end!

Finally Dining At This Conclave!!! Went For Chef Javier’s Weekday 3-Course Set Lunch ($25) What better way to end a week than with a meticulously prepared meal by one very talented individual at this cosy hole-in-the-wall restaurant? Still can’t believe impatient me actually managed to wait a MONTH to dine here...but I guess it made the lunch all the more satisfying😚 For starters, we were served a charcuterie plate comprising champagne ham, pâté (made with ground pork, cognac and pistachio) and a hunk of focaccia. The cold cuts did whet my appetite but what stole the show really was dat thick, doughy, chewy lightly oiled focaccia with a consistency true to European bread - I could almost taste the blood, sweat and TLC put into kneading and baking it (figuratively ofc, no one likes the taste of sweat). Next time I go, please serve me a whole basket’s worth ok?😉

Pesto Mushroom (Add Chicken) $13.50 Not worth the price. Chicken was dry and tough, sad portion of mushrooms, bland in taste.

Chai Know You Want It Thinking about the Seven Spice Chai ($6) I had at Fifty50 some time back. Definitely one of the more memorable chai lattes I've had with a fairly strong kick of cinnamon which also brings out some sweetness, among other spices, for an aromatic beverage that does not fall short on flavour. Haven't exactly had better since. Plus I got to watch the barista work on the latte art and I have nothing but mad respect for such creative and talented people. 🙏 This was part of a hosted meal at @fifty50sg.

Local Fusion Shiokness If you're eyeing for a non-veggie dish at Fifty50, the Linguine Chili Crab ($14) is a potential crowd pleaser for the (meat eating) masses. The chili crab pasta sauce has a slight kick of spiciness with cherry tomatoes, onions and chunks of crab meat. I have to say, even though I avoid eating seafood to avoid potentially embarassing gagging episodes, I did not get any of that 'taste of the sea'! Rather than being a local fusion gimmick, this dish actually gels pretty well together as a whole. Each spoonful was creamy and comforting, with a nice contrasting texture from the plump crabmeat chunks. However, I wished the crab flavour in the risotto was more robust, and also the rice to be slightly softer. I guess it all boils down to personal preference 😄. Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

{_GOOD OLD DAYS_} 📍337 Beach Road Drop by my C's place today for dinner, Cafe is well decorated and pretty chill. Lots of vintage items such as their cups and wall paintings, pretty nostalgic feel! Perks of dining, you get to destress by joining their water colouring lessons (if I ain't wrong) lots of artistic peeps tonight!! Apparently I ain't one of them 🤣 Pan-seared scallop with creamy mentaiko sauce topped with ebiko accompanied with linguine; very flavourful and delectable ($15.90) Spicy buffalo drumlets charred at the sides, grilled to perfection, ($8.90) I would recommend their desserts as well (soufflé pancake - $12.90) and their house drink of yoghurt smoothie with Chia pudding!

Mud Slice Ice Cream Tried The Mud Slice Ice Cream And It Tasted Like Gelto Dark Chocolate Ice Cream! The Acai Berry Ice Cream Tasted Like acai with a sorbet feeling. Nice music and good place to chill especially on such a warm weather! It cost $3.60 for a single scoop and $6.60 for double scoop! Quite a decent price!

Ice Cream Waffle Brownie ice cream and churros waffle. The latter isn't the best. Felt like frozen instant waffle.

Nice and Cosy If you stay in the heartland of Hougang and not been to Mingle Mangle yet, the ice cream here is the bomb. Really good ice cream. Had the mud slide ice cream as seen in the photo. Waffles isn’t too bad either. Standard cafe price and the environment is pretty rustic. Very nice little hang out.

Salmon Mentai Don Price has increased to $9.50, but this is still a stall I would frequent. Generous slab of salmon (loved how they cooked it such that the skin is crisp). Pickles and miso soup to complement. Sweet sauce to counter the savoury taste, and definitely the star has got to be the mentaiko sauce which was served in generous amounts.

Salmon Mentai Don What's most disappointing was the deep-fried fish. Never deep-fry salmon, especially if you're pairing it with mentai. The result didn't make sense. However, the mentai and donburi sauce salvaged the dish. Overall, $9 for this in a coffeeshop is a fail.

Salmon Mentai Don ($8.80) Salmon Mentai Don was pretty good, but I find the sauce was quite salty. Bf ordered Unagi Tama Don ($8.80) and he loves it, unagi was cooked perfectly. Tbh I also preferred the Unagi Tama Don more. We also got the Donya Maki ($5.80) to share. It was a pretty good dinner 👍🏻

Hojicha Donut (KAI KAI - $3.00) (UP - $3.30) I didn't expected that it's not cream donut and just normal and basic roasted tea donut. But the roasted tea taste quite strong tbh and also slightly hard when reheat the donut.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Donut (KAI KAI - $1.99) UP: $3.30 Seasonal edition flavour for halloween. The taste was quite fusion and savoury especially peanut (nutty taste) and also chocolate (sweet sauce). Originally I want to order another regular flavour one but then didn't missed it out for seasonal edition.

Matcha White Chocolate Donut Decided to order Matcha White Chocolate Donut (UP: $3.30) (KAI KAI: $3.00) instead of Matcha Originals. As I did reserved flavour after buying KAI KAI voucher, it just sold out when I went there. I felt that it was really quite sweet due to white chocolate and not much bitter inside matcha. It got strong yeasty taste and chewy texture when I tried it out.

Sweet Potato Porridge with Mei Cai Pork Belly The Sweet Potato Porridge with “Mei Cai” Pork Belly, Preserved Radish Omelette and Assorted Condiment ($14.90) is such a comforting meal. Although the pork belly is not super soft, it is braised thoroughly and not dry at all. The sweet and savoury preserved radish omelette is very tasty. Together with a hot bowl of sweet potato porridge, this is one hearty porridge meal!

Pork patty omurice 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐲 𝐎𝐦𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 ($15.90) - Silky scrambled eggs atop QQ pearl rice with pork patty and a rich teriyaki like sauce.

As one of my favorite vegan places in Singapore, I am always looking forward to new upcoming creations from them that almost always never fail to disappoint!👍🏻 Featured here is the VEGAN HOUJICHA cream cake, made in house by a Japanese chef (also the wife of the owner 😉)! ✨ Using houjicha powder from @matchayasg , the characteristic roasted flavour was surprisingly prominent, distinct with a pleasant lingering aroma! 😋 The plain sponge layers were also soft, fluffy and sufficiently moist, further enhanced with houjicha cream sandwiched within and a surprise element of fresh fruit slices embedded within the smooth, luscious cream 🍎🥝🍊! Poppy popcorn (Genmaicha) Latte [$5.90] . . Newly launched to the series of beverage menu, this Genmaicha latte is made using organic premium genmaicha powder sourced from @matchayasg. Vegan friendly, plant-based milk is used instead, which had a distinctive soya flavour that resembled that of soymilk. Amidst the subtle earthy hues of matcha lies a roasted, nutty undertone and aroma, providing another dimensional flavour to the smooth, refreshing beverage. As the name suggests, the roasted flavour resembled that of a popcorn, contributing to a pleasant lingering aroma.
