Crispy roasted duck served with mashed potato and pickled vegetables - 7/10

Duck meat was succulent and tender. Mashed potato had a strong potato taste, not super buttery. Pickled vegetables which served as the plate’s decoration was actually a delight to our palate.

Overall, a decent dish but not an outstanding one. Given that the price of the dish, if we come back to the restaurant, we will try out other dishes!

MUST TRY!!

It was such an amazing mixture of flavours in our mouth - minced pork that was so finely fried, with fried baby shrimp, runny egg yolk that when mixed together, made this dish really on point.

For spicy food lovers, they also sell a spicy version at $22.

Will definitely order this again when I’m back!

Ordered:
1 Protein + 1 Base ($9.90)
- Mentaiko Salmon (torched cod roe + mayo)
- Yuzu Ume Rice

+ Half Avocado ($1.50)
+ Onsen egg ($1)
+ Cherry tomatoes ($1)

Affordable and delicious salmon bowl. Great place to chill and catch up with friends!

Like all their other dishes, their desserts are just as nicely plated just like a piece of art work.

We thoroughly enjoyed bubbling onto the various components of this dessert - what seemed to be sponge cake but it was much airier and lighter, shortbread cookie pieces, a small portion of something sweet and cold - we think it’s ice cream and the swirl of white stuff that seems like something to cleanse our palate first before digging into the dessert. Clearly, we should have took greater note of the dessert components on the menu before ordering. But yea! This was interesting. Will be back to try other desserts!

Ran out of caked when we reached at 8.15pm on Monday - according to the staff, they don’t usually sell out on a Monday but a customer came by and bought one whole cake just before us!

So we tried their Tiramisu ($11.85) and Jasmine Orient ($9.80) with Burpple Beyond 1F1. And got ourselves the Hibiscus Lime Tapping Tapir drink. ($6)

Decent dessert (7/10) and drink was refreshing! (8/10)

Will be back to try their cakes which look really good!

Mud Pie
Cost: $5.90
Description: The mud pie contains chocolate, cookies and cream, burnt caramel ice cream with Oreo cookie crumbs
Service: efficient and helpful service staff who willingly helped to take photos for us
Ambience: Some might find the shop’s interior rather small and a little narrow but I suppose this adds to the cosy vibes of the place. As it’s a small shop, you might not be able to get seats inside. My friends and I had to sit outside which was not too bad either as they had ceiling fans!
Personal take: I personally love this mud pie so much! Brought my friends here to celebrate a friend’s birthday and they were amazed by how good it was too. Island creamery is definitely my go to place for mud pies.
If ever you are craving a dessert that is cake-like and yet icecream-ish, then get the mud pie. It is a perfect blend of neutral old school flavors that many will love and the cookie crumbs and chocolate borders provide a good texture contrast to the inner ice cream core.
4 of us shared this mud pie, which was just enough for us. But I definitely can wallop one whole mud pie on my own :)
