Hot Plate Squid I usually go for their hot plate meats or the yukgaejjang at Kim Dae Mun but Miss K was craving for sotong so bopian 😝😝😝 We like that their squid are thick cut so there is a nice bite to each squid ring. It is also perfectly executed as the squid was tender yet chewy. The sauce was definitely more spicy than the sauce used for their hot plate chicken and pork but paired really well with the squid. Its a tad more expensive than their meat options but a good alternative if you are looking for something different!

Japchae Glass Noodle A well-made Japchae should have a balanced sweet and savoury flavour with slices of meat, crunchy vegetables and a chewy sweet potato noodle texture. The ones here were not too bad, and the texture of the noodles was on point except the sauce is a little too sweet to my liking 》$6.50

Fried Dumplings Juicy mandu with a healthy amount of pork and vegetables inside with a not-too-thick and nice crispy bite on the skin 》$4

Roast Meat From Foong Kee 叉烧 烧肉 The crackling pork belly skin is irresistible, while the savoury char siu is tender and full of flavour. Not bad indeed!

Roast Duck From Foong Kee 烧鸭 The duck skin is crispy, while the duck meat is tender, good balance and flavour. Indeed satisfying!

Char Siew + Sio Bak Rice @$5.50 Foong Kee was returned, and this time at Commonwealth Crescent Market and Food Centre. Having eaten at their Keong Saik Outlet before its closure back in 2021. Already expect good food here, and was not disappointed. My other half having this for the first time agreed that the Sio Bak was very good. Sio Bak excellent. Crispy skin, tender meat. Char siew with its charred edges was very good too. Meat had a good meat and fat ratio. Come earlier if u want roasted duck. By the time i came at 12.30pm, no more roasted duck liao

Consistently great If you’re looking for somewhere different that delivers consistently well executed food then Erwin’s is a great place, especially at weekends when it’s a little quieter and you can take a stroll around the bay afterwards. The fish was chunky and really moist but with a crisp and lightly seasoned batter, accompanied by an upgrade to sweet potato fries. It’s a pub with a proper chef, what’s not to like!

1 For 1 Pasta using Burpple Beyond Ordered a vongole pasta and pork cheek ragu pasta. The vongole was very dry and bland. One of the worst pastas I’ve ever had. Pork cheek ragu was okay but the pasta texture was weird.. Will not recommend and will not come back again.

Char Kway Teow The never-ending queue is the reason why this has been on my wish list forever. I knew it was finally time for me to try when I was early on a weekday morning for work. This has got to be one of the shiokiest CKT in SG. The CKT served here leans towards sweet and savoury with a good amount of crunchy bean sprouts in there. Very sinful and definitely worth the cholesterol 》$4

Yummy Fried Kway Teow At Hong Lim Food Centre

Matcha Azuki Crossiant ($4) I felt that the pricing for this was quite economical compared to other bakery also. I didn't know that got red bean filling for crossiant. The crossiant really got the crispy and crunchy texture when in reheat. But red bean (azuki) was quite sweet and complemented with matcha (bitter taste).

French Potato ($3.40) I didn't really like the mayo sauce garnished on top of the bread and just too much for sauce. I just felt too full after eating bread finish.

Tiramisu Cake ($6) The cake just destroyed by my hands once again and even though the cashier put the tape on the paper for cake. But still the cake just toppled inside the box lol :") the taste for tiramisu just not that strong as I thought but then still having mid coffee taste. The texture for cake and cream was quite soft and moist aftertaste. But they got three types of cake (Tiramisu, Strawberry Shortcake and also Chocolate) selling over the counter.

Ginger Lemonade / Iced Lemon Tea The ginger lemonade is made using actual fresh ginger juice. I like how the zing of fresh ginger plays off that sweet-tart base 》$6 Each

Miso Pork Belly Bowl The miso pork belly bowl comes with homemade pickled cabbage, yakiniku sauce, onsen egg, sesame seed, spring onion and chunky slices of pork belly laid on top. The pork belly was thick and slightly charred to a nice burnt flavour. It was tender and juicy but I couldn’t taste the miso. Dipping it with the yakinuku sauce helps with the flavouring 》$17.90

Chilli Crab Pasta Spaghetti cooked with homemade chilli crab sauce and curry leaves, presented with a crunchy soft shell crab on top. The pasta was al-dente with a chewy bite. The sauce was done with the right amount of sweetness and a tinge of spiciness 》$18.90

Mango coco 13.4++ add on almond thins +1.9++ THEY ARE CLOSING THIS WEEK The waffles were decent. Mango was way too sour. Coconut ice cream sucks, it's way too cold and lacks flavour Almond thins were brilliant. Super aromatic from the nuts, with a really satisfying crunch. Not sure what the translucent parts are but hey if it's this good I'm not complaining The queue is insane nowadays so please come with a reservation

red velvet cheesecake waffles ($11.50) as usual, the soft serve was rich in sightly salty cheese flavour!! the little cubes of red velvet cake topped w lemon custard were also a nice topping. would always recommend sunday folks for ice cream, but a little stingy with their waffles, can skip and get cones/cups instead
