The 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙒𝙖𝙛𝙛𝙡𝙚𝙨 ($20) were the highlight of my meal. The waffles were crisp with a nice tang, and the crispy chicken was larger than my face! I especially loved the maple-butter sauce, which added some homely comfort to this dish. Probably shouldn’t eat this too often or risk getting arterial disease, but this is certainly a cheat meal I’ll revisit again. ⠀

This place is on Burpple Beyond so it’s really worth considering the humongous mains are only $10 after discount! This place fills up fast so do get a reservation. Otherwise, you’ll be stuck outside in Singapore’s heat 🤪⠀
This place sells the freshest sashimi that I’ve tasted in a while. While it’s more expensive than my usual $10 chirashi bowls (I am a poor student after all), it’s definitely worth it with the quality and quantity of fish provided. I’d dare say that the sushi here is better than those sold at some pricier hotel establishments. ⠀
⠀
If I had to choose a favourite child, it’d probably be the 𝘼𝙗𝙪𝙧𝙞 𝙎𝙖𝙡𝙢𝙤𝙣. The smokiness of the charred fish paired really with the fattiness of the salmon. They do sell an Aburi Salmon roll ($16.90), but I’ve always felt that the dons are more satisfying to eat. Perhaps it’s some prejudice I have against sushi rolls 😅⠀
⠀
Other highlights included the crunchy swordtail and fatty yellowtail. Special shoutout to the scallop (not pictured because I ate it) which wasn’t fishy at all. It was actually really tender and sweet! As a former scallop hater, I was shocked.
Added $1 of tobiko for that nice crunch. This place consistently delivers with humongous servings of pork cutlet and flavourful fried rice. Their XO fried rice is so savoury and delicious! Would recommend this over their regular fried rice any day. Even though I’m trying to eat less carbs, I actually ate a double portion of their rice for lunch 😜
Wouldn’t recommend coming here for takeaway because I waited 1h30min. No preorders allowed. I’d suggest going for the delivery option instead ($5 flat rate islandwide). I was especially salty because I paid $4.80 just in parking fees.
Flavourful, spice-filled dough topped with a humongous prawn! What’s not to love.
This burger set (burger+fries) was only $10! The portions are super generous too! The burger is comparable to the normal beef burger you can get alacarte at Mezza9, which would cost you around $30 normally. The patty is super juicy and the entire burger is really flavourful and well seasoned.
You can get bestselling dishes from Mezza9 and the other restaurants at Hyatt (like Straits Kitchen) for only $10! Just place an order on their website and make payment online. Would recommend ☺️☺️
The Black Tie burger came with truffle aioli, rocket, cheese between a brioche buns. I’ve tried a bunch of Impossible burgers and it’s true that the patty is the closest to meat that you can get right now. The patty is pretty damn good.
Sadly, I can’t say the same about the burger itself. It had way too much mayo 😢 I had to scrape some of the mayo off because it was just too much. It really drowned the taste of the rocket, cheese and Impossible patty. There wasn’t much truffle flavour as well. 😬
The set came with a burger, shoestring truffle fries and a coke for $24. After Burpple Beyond, we paid $12 per pax. Though the shoestring fries were good, it can’t make up for the burger. Though the staff did say that the burger was meant to be eaten with two patties (+$6), I feel like this mayo problem is probably unrelated to the bun-to-meat ratio.
I probably wouldn’t be back again because I prefer a more well-balanced burger.
The burrito was also pretty good, but paled in comparison to the sanga. Perhaps because the nature of a burrito means that everything is kind of mushed together, and you can’t really taste each ingredient distinctly. Despite that, I have to say that both dishes was very flavourful and well seasoned. Really delicious!
We only paid $8.24 per pax after Burpple Beyond! The brunch menu is available 9.30am-3.30pm on Saturday, but the promo only applies till 11am. Sadly, they didn’t allow takeaways with the Burpple promotion. Thankfully, the place was empty, so we didn’t have to dine in fear.
I‘ll definitely be back for another cheat day breakfast 🤪

Have been wanting to try Chico Loco’s breakfast since mid last year, after I had some of their amazing buttermilk chicken burger.
We got the chicken and egg sanga and the breakfast burrito. I loved the chicken and egg sanga which came with a generous amount of chicken chorizo and a sinful amount of carbs (hash brown AND brioche).

This place has a nice vibe. And they have this bar with like 50 million craft beers. Free samples too, apparently. I know we’re only supposed to review food here, but just wanted to say this lol
This is one thick burger. If I ate this double cheeseburger by myself, I’d probably end up passed out with a severe case of meat sweats.
Super generous servings and a pretty yummy burger. Would’ve preferred a bit more seasoning in / on the patty though.
Thanks Taco Mantra for inviting us to taste your food! Thanks Burpple for helping to coordinate everything as well :)
We tried Ma’s fish, Kerala beef and chicken tikka. The meat to carb ratio was quite generous. Personally, I liked the chicken tikka the most out of the tacos. Though, I would choose the burgers for mains any day.

In my fam, I’m known for my distaste towards lamb. So when I tried this burger, I didn’t really have very high expectations. But thankfully, I had my mind BLOWN by this tender, beautifully seasoned and spiced lamb burger. There was minimal gamey-ness and the portions were generous.
Really yummy! If I came here again, I’d probably get this.
