I liked this, the sausage was quite soft and the subtle flavour grew on me. Went very well with the onion sauce.
Not bad but wouldn't think it is worth the price if not for Burrple Beyond deal. Note that the deal is only available before 5pm.
Quite nice for a cheaper option in the Orchard area
The Peranakan high tea set came with 2 drinks which was great.
The crostini had blue cheese which i dislike. But other savory items were quite nice. Sweet items were average, i liked the pandan mousse cake best. Scones were abit dry but the spreads (jam, gula melaka kaya) were really good.
Place was spacious which was a welcomed thing. Service was attentive which made the experience more enjoyable. But the chairs and table were not the most ergonomic if i am picky!
Love their ice-cream.. had a good pistachio flavour and wasnt too sweet. The apple crumble came in a tart form and had a nice crisp. The apples carried a tinge of sour which balanced out all the flavours (though one of my friends thought they were too sour). Yum!
Wouldn't mind coming back to try their high tea or mains as the cafe has a cosy vintage vibe.
Waffle was soft and i prefer crispy ones. The vanilla ice-cream was really good though so overall still a nice dessert.
Go for roast chicken salad, it tasted quite clean and fresh and sesame dressing went well together.
Vege salad is decent if you need some veges. The grilled veges were very strong in flavour so you hardly need much salad sauce. Will be better if the grilled vege wasn't fridge cold.
For the hearty salad Burpple Beyond deal, seafood salad is not included as an option.
Beef short ribs was good, very tender and lots of flavour, though on the salty side.
The char siew rice bowl was abit tough and dry despite the positive reviews on it here.
Topped up ours with an omelette but the waitress heard wrongly and gave us an onsen egg instead. When we told her, she argued and refused to change, which really spoilt the whole customer experience... Anyway the curry doesn't taste like the usual japanese curry and was not to our liking, also felt thirsty after the meal. Will stick with coco ichibanya in future.
Soft and moist, loved it
Liked the chewy texture and fragrance of the sesame bagel, though i think it wasn't really suitable with a fried pork filling as too much was going on in terms of texture. Fried pork also was a little dry. Glad I didn't add the fried egg, since the bagel as it is, had a lot of flavour going on already.
