Had a lovely lemon cheesecake at this cafe. Interesting mix of light cheese blend layered above a sponge cake base. Not too heavy like an American cheesecake yet not too light light a Japanese souffle cake. Very different take on a cheesecake!
Also had a chocolate hazelnut tart which was a bit too sweet for my liking and the chocolate ganache layer was a little dense, would have liked something a little smoother. But a nice cafe to chill out nonetheless.
Loved the whole atmosphere and decor of the place! Really cosy place to chill with friends. Pleasantly surprised that the drinks came with 2 complimentary bowls of snacks as well, it was indeed a nice touch.
We also had our dinner there, where we ordered the beef burger and pork ribs, both of which were just decent. For the beef burger, we enjoyed the unique pepper brioche buns. The patty felt a little loose and underseasoned, with the cheese being the best component of the burger. Pork ribs could do with better seasoning inside, instead of just the barbeque sauce they brush on the outside. Both mains were quite substantial and left us full on the upside.
Although reviews did mention other more noteworthy items which we unfortunately did not try, guess this warrants another visit then.
Had the Ebiko pasta ($20) and the Lamb Shank ($25) (pictured in the background).
Was very impressed by the Ebiko pasta where despite using a cream sauce, it was not too heavy, and every bite was so savoury with the little pops of Ebiko that made the pasta dish so addictive! The grilled prawns that accompanied the dish was fresh as well.
Lamb Shank came in a generous portion and was tender enough. Although I wished the scallion pancake that came with it had a deeper scallion flavour but otherwise a very interesting and tasty pairing with the Lamb!
The restaurant is a cosy place that recently opened up and the service crew was very attentive, friendly and polite as well. Would definitely come back!
Fans of Waa Cow! at NUS can now get their fix in the CBD. True to its name, beef is the focus at this Raffles Xchange establishment. Waa Cow! serves an excellent wagyu beef rice bowl, so over here, you won't go wrong with the Signature Aburi Wagyu Beef Donburi ($21.90) — add $2 if you want the beef topped with mentaiko (!) or $5 with shaved truffle (!!). We also recommend ordering the Petite Wagyu Sushi Platter ($16.90), which comes with four different wagyu sushi — the classic, yuzu kosho, mentaiko and truffle parmesan. The latter is super earthy and aromatic from both truffle and cheese. Beefy business aside, you might also consider the Yuzukosho Iberico Butadon ($16.90), a really satisfying pork bowl, or the Mentaiko Salmon ($18.90), which features a really generous piece of fish over rice — perfect if you're really hungry! Pro tip: For a limited time only, like them on Facebook and Instagram to get 15 percent off your total bill.
Avg Price: $20 per person

This cafe (Three Years in a balloon) deserves a shoutout! I'm surprised there's no review for this place. They only operate on weekdays from noon-7.30pm. I heard that they are good for their waffles but I haven't try it. Go for their pear with cranberry tart. It is really good. Interior is pretty interesting as well. Will revisit!
