The appetisers - Chicken Laksa Roll and Tuna Tartare Cones - were both fusion dreams come true, very well executed. The Stuffed Quail main was unique, and I quite enjoyed the creamy and flavorful stuffing. The Streamed Salmon was, as expected, simple and healthy. Although I supplemented $10 for the Calamansi Vanilla Vacherin, I personally preferred the less intense but creamy default Pistachio Panna Cotta. Did I mention that piping hot bread, including a π ciabiatta, was served before the start of the meal. Overall one of the better set lunches I tried so far and a great view to boot.

Located right next to Exit A, the dishes here were pricey but the portion sizes were admittedly on the bigger side. Not as spicy as anticipated but we did tell them to tone it down so it was a slow build-up of the numbing sensation in the mouth. Can't say Sichuan is my favourite cuisine (too oily) but this place looks sufficiently authentic (I think). Do note the drinks are expensive because they know you will order them.

The appetiser - scallop crudo, corn emulsion and chicken floss - was a bewildering start to the meal (I'm no fan of the sweet floss). The mains - dry aged duck breast ($35+) and steamed sea bass ($33+) - fared much better, with the winner sea bass interestingly paired with a soy milk and bone broth concoction. Definitely do not miss the smoked hay semifreddo and chocolate textures dessert, which has a unique but pleasing sweet/savoury flavour profile owing to the generous sprinkling of sea salt, dramatically topped with gold leaf. 3 course dinners was a $17+ top up, house wines were going$12+ and 1for1. Set lunches available.

They didn't have onsen eggs left so they gave us more dumplings. The winner was surprisingly the western cheese-filled fried pierogi. Not sure if I'll come back as the normal price is pretty high. It was crowded during lunch so reservations recommended.

Tried the muar otah, boneless stuffed chicken wing and they're swimmer crab salad. Also pictured is the tomato fish curry. Flavours and presentation were on point but the payoff was the smallish portion sizes. Debating whether to return when their usual set lunches return.

Went for the popular deep fried garlic pork (ala carte, $12). My favourite main dish but portion size tends towards the smaller side. There's a rice set with garlic pork which might be more worthwhile. Green curry (chicken, $10) was ok but not a stand out. The lady helped to reduce the spiciness from 2 to 1 chilli for the som tam ($8) but it was still mouth numbingly spicy. Crispy omelette (chicken, $10) was a pleasant surprise and is worth trying if you've never had this iteration before.
Not pictured is the mango sticky rice which is bizarrely canapΓ© style (x6 mini cups, $10) but the rice was a bit too tough.

This place is very old school, home cooking style (expect no fusion nor MSG). Flavours do seem a bit tamer maybe to cater to the tourist crowd that are probably enticed by the OTT decor but overall a decent choice for your perankan cravings.

#burpplebeyond was used for the bar snacks - fried chicken (very recommended), truffle fries, honey butter chicken and calamari. Found out that burpple system can't facilitate payment after the official closing time (12mn) so do get the bill before then.
Coming back reminded me of the first time when I dragged my team here for call treat 2.5 years ago. Times have certainly changed since then huh.
