Definitely a favourite from this place. The chicken is really tender and the pasta is well-cooked with the sauce, complementing the chicken. It was so filling that I had the second half brought home as takeaway and I ate it as dinner the next day.

The waffles here are to die for. I got it with cookies and cream ice cream, which was surprisingly cookie-rich rather than cream-rich. The salted caramel sauce that accompanies the waffles will definitely leave you with some kind of sore throat, so remember to have a drink on hand. We tried to s'mores cake too, which was a good combination of neither too sweet or too dry.

$5 for this diabetes-inducing, 16-piece Prata. Served with bananas, chocolate sauce and sweetened milk, it's something I'd recommend anyone to try, but definitely in moderation.

Totally not worth the price - paid $17.90 for two types of room temperature waffles, dubiously sourced chicken, "bacon" that doesn't even look close to bacon and strangely coloured scrambled eggs. Got the kids' meal too - $10.90 for a sad small serving of spaghetti. Just stick to the ice cream.

This is another dish I would eat again. The pineapple rice has that comfortable flavor of the usual pineapple rice, without overdoing the pineapple's sweetness. The rice was also not too dry or oily, and it came with even more eggs and prawns, which I definitely loved.

The chicken was surprisingly tender, despite it's burnt edges. I could put my spoon through it and it split very smoothly. The meat was also a very fair shade of brown and was very smooth, which is quite different from what I've tried before. Personally, though, I found it too salty.

Tried Ah Loy Thai's signature dish today: pad Thai (this was it half-finished). I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The noodles were not too oily and yet not too dry, and had an added tint of sweetness that made me want to gobble it all up. All (yes, all) the prawns were also very juicy and succulent, and the lightly fried eggs were a nice addition, taste and texture-wise.

So today I tried the Norwegian Salmon with Teriyaki Sauce at Mariner's Corner Restaurant & Steakhouse, at the Maritime House. For $19.90, it came with the salmon, a scoop of potatoes, and some assorted vegetables. The skin was very crispy and the salmon itself was very soft and true to its taste. Should check out if you like salmon. The meal was very filling, I even had to takeaway my side dish of fries because I couldn't finish it! The other dishes and sides I tried were also very nice - their garlic bread was so crispy you could hear it, but the inside was soft and flavorful. The oxtail stew, made with a recipe unique to the Hainanese family behind this restaurant, had very tender, soft meat, with a thick gravy. The ambience was very cruise-ship-restaurant-esque, with their windows covered with curtains, the lighting dim and all the furniture adding to the atmosphere. Recommended to stop by if you're in the area.

Also found in the Dream Cafe. Not bad for $3 - it takes a while to make, certainly, and you can't get it as fast as your ice cream, but the fries come out piping hot (which is a nice touch in the air con cafe), and they're thick and not too salty. Goes excellent with ketchup.

Found in the Dream Cafe at lorong 1, toa payoh. Quite pricy for my small budget. But worth it every once in a while, just because it's convenient.

So, after running X-country with my friends in Bishan Park, we decided to go check out the café that everyone had been raving about. I ordered their cheeseburger (not sure if that's the exact name for it), which came with a side of fries. Thankfully, the meal was worth all the money I paid for it. It arrived on a thick tray, and the fries were in a ceramic mug, which I thought was very cute and unique. The burger and fries did not disappoint either. The meat was tender and juicy, the cheese was a delicious complement to the meat, the bread was soft and chewy, and the sauce drizzled on the vegetables made me, a vegetable-hater, enjoy every single bite. The fries were amazing as well. They were not the pathetic, skinny fries you find in Ashton's or Mac's; they were thick and filled with all that potato goodness, and because they were in a ceramic mug, they stayed warm even until after I finished my burger. There was just the right amount of salt sprinkled on as well. It is safe to say that I'll be back soon.

The pancakes tasted like flour and eggs...I didn't like the waffles themselves that much. But the gula Melaka was very rich and sweet, and made the pancakes nicer, in a way. Kind of pricy for three pancakes, though.
