For me, most of the time, simplicity is much better than complexity. A couple of half boiled eggs, a slice of toast and a cup of hot Milo will always do the trick of a comforting meal.

highly recommend getting the sashimi slices!! Sashimi was remarkably fresh too we decided to order more 𝐒𝐀𝐋𝐌𝐎𝐍 ($𝟔/𝟐𝐩𝐜), 𝐓𝐔𝐍𝐀 ($𝟖/𝟐𝐩𝐜) & 𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐀𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑𝐉𝐀𝐂𝐊 ($𝟏𝟎/𝟐𝐩𝐜) and were surprised with THICK ASS CUTS😭🫶🏼

The 𝐒𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐌𝐈 𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐁𝐎𝐖𝐋 ($𝟐𝟐) had more sashimi than rice??? AMAZING variety🍱 - salmon, tuna, swordfish, ikura, negitoro, octopus, fish roe…topped with tempura bits🥹 Sashimi was remarkably fresh too. You can also choose the type of rice; I went for mixed grain for a chewier texture🍚

Matcha Latte I like their matcha latte for its smooth mouthfeel. It was quite refreshing and it does not get too diluted even after the ice melts. The only downside was the lack of the subtle bitterness we usually get from a good matcha latte 》$5

Sashimi Rice Bowl Generous chunks of salmon, swordfish, tuna, yellowtail and jellyfish on a bed of rice, topped with tempura bits. All donburi also comes with complimentary miso soup and wafu salad. Top up $1 for their multi-grain rice for some chewy and nutty texture. Not the best and although the sashimi was average, this is a really affordable and value for money chirashi for its generous servings of sashimi and quick chirashi fix 》$18 + $1 Multi-Grain Rice

Not bad, reminiscent of a good laksa bowl! Dry Laksa ($18 1 for 1 with #burpplebeyond) - though the noodles were abit too soft, the sauce is thick and very flavourful, just like a good bowl of laksa. They gave 4 pretty huge prawns which were all plump and fresh! Not bad can try.

Pretty delicious Mentai Don! Salmon Mentai Don ($18 1 for 1 with #burpplebeyond) - mentaiko really can't go wrong and for this bowl they were pretty generous with the amount of sauce! As for the salmon pieces, it seems like it's lesser than that of Chirashi. I still love the rice in here! The onsen egg just pairs well with everything in here 😍

Chunky fresh pieces of sashimi, not bad Lecoq Chirashi ($16 1 for 1 with #burpplebeyond) - pretty generous with the sashimi ingredients, the sashimi pieces were fresh and chunky! I must say they gave alot of rice, but I ain't complaining because their rice were well seasoned and pretty darn addictive. Love the onsen egg as well, as it acts as a good medium to combine everything together!

Juicy Wagyu Beef Patties!! Used the 1-1 Burpple deal here and I got the Avocado Wagyu Burger. Came with 2 Wagyu patties and they were really juicy. It was quite oily though (perhaps because of the fat from the Wagyu?) But considering the price after the deal ($12.50 each) it was pretty worth it. 8.5/10 👍🏼

Not Good Food was super expensive.. Ice water cost $1.50.. time taken for the food to be served was more than 30mins. Ordered truffle fries as a starter but there was no taste of truffle. The staff had the fries changed to salted egg spring roll which cost $12.90 and tasted like it was air fried. Doubt will intro to anyone or come back again..

For 1-for-1 Main Dish (save ~$25) Hidden amongst rows of shophouses, you can't miss XY Hotel in Bugis with their full black facade and neon lights. Pop in to their cozy bistro for affordable fusion tapas, pastas and good vibes! Tuck into their Grilled Chicken Thigh Hotplate ($28.90), Big Tiger Prawn Aglio Olio ($33.90), Seafood Pizza ($33.90) or share their Mixed Grilled Meat Hot Platter ($88.90) which is good for 2-3 pax.

Affordable Fusion Dishes Affordable fusion food in a pleasant environment. Not too crowded which is a welcome respite especially on Fridays. Has the Mussel Tagliolini (13.90) which was very flavourful. They weren't stingy with the mussels which were also not overcooked.

gelato tasting (hay gelato) did you know hay gelato is branched from brine? you can try their blue pea and vanilla sweet cream as dessert at Brine!

KNIFE CUT NOODLES WITH BUTTERED CRAB my favorite dish of the burpple beyond set special ($98)❤️ rich in unami flavor from the generous amount of crab meat topped with ikura and seasoned with scallion oil 🤯🤩✨ i could have another portion.

Uni and cavier on top of foie gras Part of the six course kaiseki at 168++ This is a very decadent dish but I don’t think uni and foie gras really go that well together since both are rich and creamy. Don’t get me wrong the dish is still tasty just that it isn’t the best match of ingredients.
