Revolver’s all-new flame-kissed à la carte menu is sure to excite those craving bold, vibrant flavors. Kick things off with small plates like their signature Fresh Delhi Paneer, Burrata Tartlets, or Charred Fennel to awaken your palate. For mains, share a few hearty choices like the Hamachi Collar, Whole Baby Chicken, or Spice-Rubbed Cauliflower—each dish brings a unique twist that’s made to be savored.
Their flatbread lineup now features seven toppings, from chickpeas to butter chicken and Mysore pulled lamb, making it hard to choose just one. And for dessert, interesting pairings like Dark Chocolate with Chilli Mousse offer a rich and satisfying finish to your meal.
It’s that jolly time of year again, perfect for merriment and feasting! York Hotel’s Christmas collection has returning favorites and a few exciting new additions. This year’s highlight is the new Slow-Roasted Angus Beef Brisket, served with roasted potatoes and seasonal veggies—a real treat. Cheese lovers shouldn’t miss the Festive Cheese and Cold Cuts Party Platter, perfect for sharing with 4-5 people. My personal favorites? The tender Roasted Chicken and the limited edition Dark Cherry and Chocolate Egg Tarts—both delicious and festive!
Did you know former Singapore National Team Goalkeeper, Hassan Sunny, has his own food stall in Tampines? Dapur Hassan has been gaining attention, especially after his recent soccer heroics. I tried the mee rebus, which was nutty, creamy, and one of the best I’ve had lately. My mum had the nasi lemak and couldn’t get enough of the sweet-spicy sambal. We arrived later in the day, so some dishes were already sold out, but if you’re in the area early, it’s a great spot to drop by for a satisfying meal!
It’s the kind of dish you could recreate at home with a few simple ingredients from the supermarket, but nothing beats the joy of slurping it down while sweating buckets at a local coffeeshop! I love mine with tom yum broth, and the star of the show? Their marinated pork balls, which add a satisfying, savory kick to the whole experience. Pure comfort in a bowl!
The Christmas season is here, and Goodwood Park Hotel is celebrating with a lineup of indulgent festive treats. One standout is the Winter Raspberry Bliss Log Cake—a delicious almond sponge with a unique grape filling, poached overnight in sherry wine, raspberry puree, and sugar. It’s topped with a sherry-infused pink cream, pecan nut crumble base, and adorned with edible snow powder, coconut flakes, and white chocolate Christmas trees for that festive finish. Each bite promises layers of flavor and texture, making it the perfect treat to share this season!
If you’re working in the CBD, check out the lunch specials at The Salted Plum! My favorite Burnt Chili Chicken now comes as a rice bowl with an onsen egg for added indulgence. And if you’re a fan of lu rou, their Braised Pork Rice is a must-try. Perfect for a satisfying midday treat. End your meal with the red tea jelly too!
For me, it’s the dry version all the way! You get the best of both worlds—a rich bowl of noodles tossed in dark soya sauce for that perfect sweet-savoury balance, with a small bowl of soup on the side to sip on. What about you?
How about you? The newly opened Hawkers’ Street at Tampines 1 is home to several famous hawker stalls, including Tai Wah Pork Noodle. They usually get the black vinegar balance just right, so if you’re a fan of that tangy kick in your bak chor mee, this spot won’t disappoint. The pork slices are super fresh, and the portion size is pretty generous too!
I’ve been a fan of Pang’s Hakka Yong Tau Foo since it first launched, but now I might have found a new favorite. After several attempts, I finally managed to try their Hakka Thunder Tea Rice (Lei Cha), and it was worth the wait!
The variety of ingredients in the bowl adds a delightful mix of textures and flavors, while the herbaceous soup brings a burst of freshness to the dish. The vibrant colors alone are enough to brighten anyone’s day!
A surge of Nanyang-themed restaurants and cafes has been popping up across the island, and I’m thrilled to share that two have recently opened in Tampines! One of them, Nan Yang Dao, opened just over a week ago and is quickly expanding throughout Singapore. I’ve visited their now-closed Serangoon outlet a few times, and their menu features a fantastic variety of dishes for any meal occasion.
My mum tried the signature Penang Fried Kway Teow, and it was cooked to perfection with a lovely wok hei. Pro tip: ask the kitchen staff to add a bit more chili during the frying for that extra kick! I went for the Dry Curry Mee, which, although I didn’t manage to snap a photo since the staff initially got my order wrong, was truly comforting and flavorful. We also took home some Puff Pastry Egg Tarts for a delightful tea-time treat!
For all the sweet-toothed residents of Bedok, hay, gelato is a must-visit! Our family loves stopping by for a cup of ice cream or, more often than not, a waffle with double scoops to share. The innovative and experimental nature of this gelateria means you can always expect new flavors to try. If you’re new, don’t miss out on the longstanding flavor of preserved orange peel—it offers a unique twist that’s simply delightful!
Just a short hop from its original spot, Big Fish Small Fish has reopened at Century Square with a fresh new look! This casual dining spot offers a variety of tasty dishes, and I usually go for their battered dory sandwich, served on a brioche bun with sides of crisps and salad. This time, I added a sunny-side-up egg for that extra indulgence. The wifey opted for the signature battered dory with shiitake mushroom aglio olio. Both were as satisfying as ever!
