Man Jian Pancakes Very generous with the ground peanut. As you bite into the pancakes, the ground peanut is falling off constantly due to the abundance. The pancake has a unique chewiness that I have not found in Man Jian Pancakes elsewhere. At 90cents a piece, this is a real gem and we will all be sorry when it is gone. I just wonder if it will taste even better if I come earlier in the morning when it’s freshly made….

Peanut Pancake Always a must buy when u head to Tanglin Halt food centre. The peanut pan cake (min jiang keuh) from Tanglin Halt Original Peanut Pancake is really the best around imo. It’s crispy round the edges but soft, gooey and chewy inside. They are super generous with their peanut and sugar filling and there’s always extra which spills out into the box for you to mop up

Chewy And Nutty During my first visit to the stall they were sold out as early as 11am. On my second visit finally I got to try this famous pancake after an hour queue. Overall this pancake is a pleasant snack or dessert item.

Fish soup I usually ordered mixed(fried and normal fish slices) fish soup with white rice. Taste rich, alot of cabbage in it. 😅 There will be some lines during lunch time because its surrounded by office buildings. Syiok! #fish #soup #singapore

Fried Fish With Vermicili Arcade fish soup!!! My favourite food when I started my first official job in raffles place area. I will be amongst the long lines of office ladies queueing for this piping hot arcade fish soup! And because lines get very longggg I used to run there for early lunch as early at ~1115am! It was like my routine to eat this once a week! Fast forward, I recently tried the marina bay outlet branch one during circuit breaker period (takeaway self collection) and wasn't impressed with it. Recently, the Guillemard outlet one just reopened and one can buy it through grabfood / foodpanda delivery. No walk in takeaway allowed though. And the price of this fish soup is getting more and more ex. It costs $9 for a fried fish soup with thick vermicelli noodles now! This is my standard order + add milk for the soup 😊 (Used to be $5.5 back in 2012 and then $6.5 a few years after..now $9?!!) But I was using a $5 grabfood voucher for my purchase so the pinch I felt was smaller haha. Having tried all 3, I must say the original arcade outlet still serves the best. And marina bay outlet ranks last for me. Guillemard's outlet ranking is in the middle for me and passable. They only have 1 cook and 1 boss (Manning the delivery counter) so do make your orders early here as well! When I arrived to collect my self-pick up order, the order wasn't even made yet because they were prioritising the delivery orders. So do cater time to pick up your order! Also, do check your orders before leaving... Because they gave me the wrong rice instead of vermicelli order (lucky I checked if not I will be angry over the 50 cents diff lol)! Also saw another foodpanda rider returning to get food items that was not delivered 🤦🏻‍♀️

Apple Crumble Pancake ✧ pancake with apple slices, marshmallows & granola crumbs ✧ pancake was bland and texture is bread-like. the granola crumbs were good though. probably our first and last :’)

Berry & Yoghurt Skillet Pancake ($12) This dish was quite underwhelming :( the pancake itself lacked flavour but the toppings (ice cream, granola, berries etc were yummy) not sure if we’d eat it again

Having severe Japan withdrawal syndrome. So here we are, having Japanese food AGAIN! This time enjoying a bowl of Tonkatsu Ramen and Tsukemen Ramen. Itch scratched, but for how long? 😣

Ladies’ Set: Tonkotsu Ramen W/ Fried Scallops And Green Tea ($11.50) Having heard rave reviews about this obscure hole-in-the-wall ramen bar(and also because we found ourselves absolutely starving at 5pm), we decided to pop by and give it a try! Their ladies’ set is perfect for foodies; with one mini ramen, a mini bowl, and a drink, one can savour multiple dishes without overeating!! 😋 Apparently, their ramen noodles are served Kagoshima style, hence the slightly thicker and chewier texture. If anything, it paired well with the rich and creamy broth which felt like silk on my tongue!! Was looking forward to their “Fried Scallops” of the day, but it turned out to be fishcake-style scallops, not the real ones 😞 should’ve just stuck with extra cha Shu! Their preserved vegetables were pretty interesting - packing a spicy kick, the leafy greens are seasoned with furikake and ebiko(if I’m not wrong)...we simply couldn’t stop heaping piles of it on the small dishes 😂 my verdict? The food here isn’t super-super spectacular, but it’s definitely beyond what one would expect for the price!

Spicy Ramen Thicker ramen served in chicken and pork broth with bamboo shoots, roasted seaweed, ajitsuke tamago, two slices of char siew and one slice of aburi char siew. Not quite used to the texture of this ramen but the hardness was on point. The slices of char siew were really thick unlike those served elsewhere 👍. Also, the chicken karage was the real deal for me - big chunks, tender and cripsy.

Maybe it's the rain, feeling kind of down. Perhaps I need some rainbow latte 🍭☕️ in my life. Maybe I need some Colours.

Glad my frenz love this dessert on their first try ✌🏻️ The honey toast itself was already crispy & tasty 😋 Matcha ice cream enhanced the delight 😘 This was such an instagrammable dish that even my dear frenz were busy snapping away and this was like a very very rare stuff that they would do 😜 #burpple

Gashouse Eggs | $13 Finally had the chance to hit up One Man Coffee after being greeted by long snaking queues during their brunch time. Got lucky and managed to snag a seat for breakfast. Opted for the gashouse eggs as I was not feeling hungry enough for the bigger plates. Absolutely loved how they made it, cheesy on the top yet oozy sunny side up egg in the middle. I’m personally not a fan of sourdough bread that’s too tough, but this crusty rendition had a great chewy texture to it. Rate:🌟🌟🌟

HANDS DOWN FAV French toast 🍞 📍Clarke Quay u know it’s good when u nearly cried after finding out it closed down 😭😭😭 just wanna do a review anyway for the memories they have sweet & savory options for the French toast; I’ve tried both. The sweet one comes with lots of berries, the savory one has BACON STRIPS and yes I prefer the savory French toast! The bacon went really well with the sweetness of the maple syrup AND the toast itself was super fluffy and warm with a slight crisp on the outside. an absolute masterpiece. I’m honestly so sad it closed down 😭

Every So Often I come to ronin every so often (as the title indicates) and it’s kinda a hit and miss with the scrambled eggs. I used to think the scrambled eggs were like the best in Singapore because it was runny like the Gordon ramsay style (if you know you know). But these days, it’s only like that half the time. Mushroom, bread and drinks are still good tho.

Savoury French Toast Although its called Savoury French Toast, its more of a sweet and salty meal. The toast with butter and syrup is so yummy I wouldn’t mind if they just gave me more of that. At first I found the braised apple kinda weird, but it cuts through the oily and saltiness of the bacon so it becomes a cycle of sweet and salty which is nice.
