Sedapnya is a Nyonya restaurant that opened quite some time ago at the Starling Mall in @damansarauptown . What I particularly liked at this restaurant was the generous portions and amazing presentation of the food which matches the higher-than-usual prices. Their food also tastes authentically like Nyonya and local food which is very nostalgic. The Mee Siam which I was richly infused with Thai herbs, spices and chillis. The curry also had a tangy flavour which was very appetising. The ABC and Chendol were huge and delicious and they were quite a good deal compared to other kopitiam-style restaurants that would charge more than RM10 for their ABC and give you a paltry portion. Service was fast as well and the ambience was lovely(I mean look at the batik tablecloth 😍). I would rate this a 8/10 and I would definitely come here again another time.

This restaurant is tucked away in Kayu Ara and it's famous for serving up delectable pork-free seafood dishes in a communal Chinese dining style. Crowds can be common here during dinner hours, so come a little earlier at 6pm if you want to avoid congestion. The most famous dish here is inarguably the Clams in Superior Soup which are fresh lala clams steamed in a deliciously seasoned soup with a touch of rice wine(can be omitted for Muslims). Their tai chow dishes such as their fried rice and fried lala meehoon are also worth a try as they are also super tasty 😋 The service is reasonably fast and there is an air conditioned section of the restaurant if you prefer a cooler environment.

Dragon-i in Sunway Pyramid is pretty packed during peak hours and days and unfortunately they don't have enough staff so it takes forever for food to come and to catch the attention of servers. Despite that, the food still tastes decent and we managed to have a nice meal regardless. The braised pork came in a really small portion and the steamed rolls were so tiny. It tasted pretty good though. The Szechuan fish was toned down for Malaysian tastes but it was quite pungent regardless. It was quite an experience to taste the acerbic stinging when accidentally biting into a Szechuan peppercorn when tasting the reddish broth. The xiao long bao were still excellent and came in a generous size to make up for the fact that they gave 4 dumplings per portion rather than the usual 6 or 8. I would rate this a 6/10, but I might have a better experience if I ordered their individual dishes instead of opting for a communal-style meal.

I hadn't even heard of Uncle Don's until now and I was so glad I found out through my brother's friends. Uncle Don's is a bar cum restaurant that specialises in serving up pretty decent food at super low prices! I was honestly quite surprised at the prices for some of the food especially when some of them would cost up to RM10 more at other restaurants with the same quality and atmosphere. We decided to try some of the customer's favourites like the pizza and nachos to share. The pizza was wonderful, with a delectably thin and light crust that wasn't too oily and just enough cheese and meat to make it taste like a guilty pleasure. The nachos were pretty epic ,with your choice of meat including pork and loads of melted cheese. They even had a bowl of fresh cheese dip in the middle of the nacho ring which was creamy and oh so good. I ate their famous Sizzling Sisig which was a traditional Filipino dish made from minced pork and seasoned with calamansi and chili peppers. This variation had a freshly cooked egg cracked on top which has a delicious runny yolk. Free water was provided so we didn't have to splurge on drinks. Service was excellent but this place gets crazy crowded during weekends and peak hours so I'll rate this a 9/10.

This is actually one of many overdue food reviews that I managed to post now on Insta due to how busy I was previously. I decided to try the stir fried sliced beef here to see how it tasted. It was alright but the portion for the beef was too small compared to other set meals you could order. The lu rou fan/braised pork rice, side dishes and soup were delicious as always though. The main seating area was full so we were directed to another one in an alcove at the back.

Eating healthy can get expensive, especially for a busy student's lifestyle but this small restaurant at the Lower Ground of Syopz provides delicious filling salad bowls at reasonable prices that rival other fast food joints in the student mall. They provide a Petite Soulsalad and a Standard Soulsalad which you can customise by choosing 1 base, 4 mains, 1 supplementary, 1 protein(only for standard soulsalad) and 1 dressing. Their ingredients are always fresh and I love the variety of choices they have for ingredients although sometimes they run out of stock easily. I love getting their sesame dressing for my salads everytime! They are also very generous with their portions as their salads are pretty filling. I'd rate this 8/10. Plus if you register with the @abuthenmalaysia app, you can get a 20% discount on your bill!

OMG I should have done this earlier because it's the last weekend for these two promotional items but no matter.....These two items were released by Kakigori for the Ramadan season. This is a very interesting flavour because they use actual rose honey, honey milk, fresh pistachios and walnuts, honeycomb and baklava pastry pieces in this dessert. I am a huge fan of rose-themed desserts in general so this was a must-try! It was the most delicious kakigori I've had from here so far! The kakigori itself was intensely fragrant with the scent of honey, milk and roses. Within the kakigori itself was a ball of chopped pistachios and walnuts which gave it a lovely nutty flavour. Alongside the kakigori was a tiny bowl of super sweet and fragrant rosewater/honey syrup. At the bottom there was more milky cream/espuma, nuts and honeycomb! It was a taste of the middle east, but with snow! The rose petals were perfectly edible as well, and they're not bitter or anything so they add a nice aromatic neutral flavour to the dessert. The rose honey cake was delicious with its fresh and fragrant rose cream, crunchy honeycomb and soft yet hearty honey graham cake. I would rate this 9/10 because service and ambience was great but there wasn't enough good seating space available.

This Korean BBQ restaurant has been a popular favourite with Korean celebs and Malaysians ever since it's debut many years ago. We came here to see if their food and service has retained the quality that many people lauded in its early days. We got a seat immediately after entering and we ordered the Kimchi Jeongol - a spicy combination of pork, kimchi, tofu and Korean instant noodles simmered in a rich kimchi soup served in a cast iron pot. The banchan came pretty quickly and the selection was quite excellent(swipe left). They tasted fresh and delicious. The stew itself was generous even when we ordered the small size. I would recommend it for a group of 3-4 people. This stew has a good amount of pork, kimchi and glass noodles. It was somewhat spicy but I think for some Malaysians they would still consider it quite mild. The best part about our meal was the hospitality we experienced from our host. The boss experienced some problems with the credit card machine when we visited so they gave us a free Korean pancake as a sort of apology and possibly to delay the finishing of our meal 😅. They also give a free dessert of watermelon slices after eating. You also get a free flow of barley tea. All in all a good experience, I would like to come here again another time. 8/10

Face to Face Noodles House is a restaurant chain that specialises in making Sarawak Noodles in the owner's family tradition at reasonable prices. They also make some pretty good Pan Mee on the side. I tried the dry version of their Sichuan Piquant Pan Mee because I felt like eating something spicy and sour. This pan mee came with a special sichuan sauce and it's topped with pickled mustard greens, pork strips and fried peanuts. It was quite spicy, though not overly so and was slightly sour. The price is also quite cheap for an air-conditioned restaurant in PJ, but admittedly I was left a little peckish after the meal due to the moderately-sized portion. As for my drink, I chose the Life-Cultivation Tea which is apparently a herbal concoction which was pleasantly sweet and cooling. It was only RM4.30 for the cold version which was reasonable considering the ingredients put inside it.

This place is a pretty famous spot to eat Hokkien Mee and it's pretty obvious why once you've tasted it. The 'Char'-style Hokkien Mee looks and tastes super amazing as it's drowning in aromatic dark sauce with plenty of crunchy pork lard sprinkled onto the noodles. The noodle-veggie-protein ratio was just right too! The chili sauce and pickled chilis that were served as condiments really helped to cut through the richness of the whole dish. We also got Fried Rice and Hokkien Mihun. The Mihun disappointed me a little because they put too many vegetables into the dish without enough mihun noodles. The Fried Rice was quite good and had a good 'wok hei' flavour. My tips for ordering portions here is to order a portion for less people than you have in your party so you have enough room for other dishes! They have a section with and without air-con so you can decide which you prefer, although it can get pretty crowded during peak hours and days. I would rate this 8/10.

I browsed the menu of this restaurant on Zomato and the Mac & Cheese had me salivating because I was really craving for good Mac & Cheese at the time. So I went over to the Pavilion one time and decided to try it out. The portion is deceptively small but this is so it won't become jelak to finish. It's actually quite filling due to the amount of fresh cheese and cream in it. The type of cheese they use it the real genuine cheese instead of the processed cheese powder sauce you usually get at places like Chili's and KFC. The dish definitely satisfied my Mac & Cheese cravings and it makes for amazing Instagram food porn material. Service was fast and attentive and the restaurant had a nice ambience. I recommend coming here in groups of 2 or more because most of their dishes are meant for sharing. I'd rate this place 8/10 for now because their main focus is on Korean fried chicken dishes and I am guilty of not having tasted their fried chicken dishes 😅😂.
