Tea cakes one for one Wanted a simple dessert so we got the tea cakes one for one deal Tried the rose lychee tea cake and the blueberry tea cake. Pretty good deal as the teacakes were soft and full of flavour. & not too sweet.

Fried mama basil w pork collar ($19.90), fried mama tomyum w crab meat ($19.90) Basil super fragrant!! Crab meat texture qq. Generous amount of scramble egg.

Green curry omelette rice ($15.90), Basil crab meat omelette rice ($16.90) Green curry doesn’t hv meatballs only sliced meat compared to the green curry noods I ordered at bugis outlet. Prefer the meatballs.

Tomyum crabmeat noodles One of the more delicious Thai boat noodles I have ever had in a while! The noodles were chewy, and the dish was flavourful that tingles all your senses - sweet, spicy, and sour at the same time. So delicious!

Ebi & rosu katsu ($21.90) The tonkotsu was well-executed with tender pork loin (loved that it was lean while still juicy) and juicy prawn. Coated in thin crisp and flaky Panko crust. Choose between classic rice or their healthier ‘brown rice’ which was an enjoyable mix of chewy rice and barley.

Rosu-katsu with daikon oroshi and ponzu sauce set Miss K and I don't usually mind paying the extra buck for the daikon oroshi "add-on" (finely grated daikon) which usually comes with a light tangy vinegrette sauce such as the ponzu sauce. The subtly sweet daikon and refreshing tangy and zingy ponzu sauce is a perfect foil to the heavy meaty flavours of the meat and the umami of the pork fat, and literally sets our taste buds alight. Onkei's tonkatsu is of a good size. Quality-wise, I think that it is good but a tad lower than some of the other tonkatsu restaurants which serve a more premium breed of pork as it is noticeably less juicy (not dry or tough for sure!) and less fatty albeit with a higher price tag. I love that besides white rice, Onkei also serves Japanese Hokkaido multi-grain rice at no extra cost and yes, it's free flow!

Burratina Orriechiete Delicious! Portions were good (not too large). I really appreciate their service staff. For this pasta 1-1, we also tried Carbona - it was very creamy and delicious, nice bacon. Easy to make reservations through Burrple/Chope.

Pizza Pancetta E Jalapeno $30++ My favourite pizza because I absolutely love anything with bacon and cheese! What’s even better was the white cream sauce they use instead of tomato sauce as the base sauce for the pizza, which gave the pizza the creamy and cheesy boost on top of the cheese toppings and made the whole pizza so flavourful with the bacon and the chewy pizza crust.

Bauernwurst Farmer’s sausage served with sliced roasted potatoes and braised red cabbage. The potatoes were well-marinated and sliced to a perfect thickness. The red cabbage turns out quite refreshing and a good balance to the salty sausage 》$22

Gebackene Champignons These fried button mushrooms 🍄 were lightly battered, crunchy on the outside, tender and juicy inside. Dip these mushrooms 🍄 into the dipping sauce and it is a perfect dish to go along with beer 🍻 》$12

Rösti While they have a smoked salmon rosti with poached egg under their main menu, I was delighted to see plain rösti being listed as a side on the menu 😊 The grated potatoes are pan-fried till golden brown, crispy on the outside while retaining their moisture and soft texture inside. It was a good alternative when I love all things potato yet trying to save some space for some meat 🍖, sausages 🌭 and beer 🍺 》$6

1-for-1 pizza Overall: 4/5 ⭐️ Food: 4/5 ⭐️ Price (with discount): 5/5 ⭐️ Ambience: 3/5 ⭐️ Service: 5/5 ⭐️ Overall bready yet soft sourdough crusts, with their specialty crispy chili oil to pair with on the side if you prefer (not the best though). The downside is that we were there during happy hour but we weren’t allowed to use both burpple and happy hour discounts. We sat inside which was a bit humid on the evening that we went. Staff were very nice despite it being a busier night. Paid $28 (including GST and service charge) for 2 pizzas, so it was very worth with the burpple discount! Not so classic marg ($24) Loved the buffalo mozzarella! Almighty cheese ($24) There was goat cheese as part of it and with nice crispy bits on the top to add more texture. Drizzled with hot honey (I think it’s meant to be hot as in spicy but it wasn’t that spicy). I personally love the savoury and sweet combo.

Butter Chicken ($28) Quite a unique combi and while the butter chicken couldn't replicate the creamy goodness of the authentic ones, it still passed muster. Loved the addition of the pickled onions as well, giving every bite a nice crunch and a slight tang.

Plant Square ($26) A medley of colourful veges adorned over a beautiful tomato sauce atop a delicious sourdough base. Think semi-dried tomatoes, huge black olives, slices of grilled eggplant and zucchini, slivers of mushrooms and bell peppers and artichokes. Lovely variety and all coming together so well. The accompanying chilli oil was pure goodness as well - drizzle it onto your pizza and also the crust for an added oomph.

Caramel Praline Macchiato ($6.50), Dark Choco Mint ($6.50) New classic holiday’s classic comfort flavours. Macchiato quite sweet, not bitter. Dark choco quite thick w a subtle mint taste.

Burpple deal sweetened this otherwise average coffee run Had the Matcha Green Tea ($6.50) and the Iced Gula Aren Latte ($6.50). Matcha green tea did not have the characteristic bitterness of matcha, leaning towards the sweeter and milkier side. Gula Aren Latte tasted just like a standard latte. Overall, if not for the 1-for-1 deal, would probably not return.

Honey citrus jasmine ($6), Hibiscus passion fruit ($6) Nett prices. Live the honey citrus jasmine! Still sweet even tho we requested for less sweet but refreshing. Passion fruit was not as sweet but more refreshing. Difficult to stir even tho we requested for a stirrer

Fake 1 for 1 deals The price has been mark up by additional $5-$10 as compare to normal menu price. Feel cheated

Not a real 1-for-1 deal Been here several times. Food here is 10/10. However, did not appreciate that they have a separate price menu for burpple user without informing us. This menu is priced higher than their normal menu. Ultimately only saved ~$5 as compared to 2 mains from their original menu.

Good bowl of Chirashi Easy fix for a bowl of chirashi. What's funny is that they have a separate pricing menu for those using the Burrple 1 for 1, the prices for it was being jacked up. Strange thou.
