Jasmine rice submerged in rich savoury seafood soup with egg floss to amplify the strong lobster notes, perfected with roasted rice puff and spring onions. The rice was the star. The lobster was just a side. Don’t get me wrong - the lobster was fresh and sweet but the rice was simply heavenly comforting and fulfilling that I’d gladly shared some of the lobster to my friend.
Im huge on octopus leg - like the tangy thai-like sauce with lightly seared cherry tomatoes. The cheese platter was really good with honeycomb and sundried raisins done in house on vine. Would like to try more of their food soon.
Always feel pampered here as I don’t have to crack my brains on what to order - they will ask and curate something for you. The beef was consistently awesome and the fish on nan was so well-fried with crispiness on the outside and juiciness in the inside with no oiliness.
Gotta be the most diluted flat cocktails I ever had in a while and even presentation was inconsistent. We ordered like 4 rounds to be ascertained it was our taste bud. The grilled seabass was good with the fish skin having slight crisp ends - the accompanying broccoli was lovely. The pekin duck rolls and the fried prawns and calamari from the lounge menu were a total miss - they were soaked in excessive oil. The frying crew needs better training on the oil temperature control. Serving was Extremen generous though. The soft shell crab spaghetti was alright but mediocre, we left it largely untouched. The pizza and the roast pork belly on the other table did look tantalizing and the patrons did polish them clean. Likely will come back for the view and maybe a lager with pizza. No more of the bad cocktails for sure.
Lemon tart is always my thing and the pistachio gelato reminds me of Rome. Was told Owner Alex cooked for us today. An unassuming, humble place with bird chirping white noise~
I thought the grilled prawn with cheese was good with all the unami till I had the seared pork (i’m nv a pork fan) with grilled rosemary that balanced off the fats in the pork and went well with the saute mushroom. A plain winner.
The al dente ravioli was impressionable with cheese filling that complemented the red wine jus topped with the foie gras of slightly crusty ends. Nicely handled baked prawn with pesto sauce and truffle.
Parma ham with burrata cheese buried with generous serving of black truffle shavings. The stracciatella cheese that oozed out was totally indulgence.
This is utterly good! Served with new york style pizza sauce with cheese and the best of all, there is a piece of fried breaded mozzarella cheese sandwiched in between the angus and vegetable..! And the menu mentioned none of it.. glad my niece ordered this, as I wouldn’t order it based on the photo and description on the menu. A gem!
This is indeed crazily sweet that is highly NOT recommended unless you have a sugar tolerance that blows the regular charts. We couldn’t even finish the brownie. And my niece threw up shortly after that, that was when the server shared there were similar occurrences before and thus I went to google on sugar intolerance. The whipped cream was not served cold but at room temperature. That made this unappealing but the silly girl went ahead to finish this as it cost 24 bucks. Bad judgement call.
This is what beckoned for my return to Tim Ho Wan. A replacement to Teochew Dumpling that was removed from the menu. This goes extremely well with chilli padi and vinegar.
