Chicken Baked Rice ($16.90) One of the worst baked rices i have ever eaten. Bits of minced chicken with broccoli mixed in with rice lacking flavour. The only thing going for it was the thick layer of cheese on top which became unappetizing after it hardened. Would not pay $16.90 for this. Staff were also unfriendly when we changed our orders at the point of ordering.

Chicken Pie with Mash Potato Ordered from the burpple menu. The pie consists of one layer of minced chicken and one layer of potato on top. There's abit of brocoli and carrots mixed in it. The flavours were ok but might get a bit jelat at the end. Abit disappointed with the variety of board games available. Quite a lot of their games were old in terms of its wear and tear.

The downside is that we were there during happy hour but we weren’t allowed to use both burpple and happy hour discounts. We sat inside which was a bit humid on the evening that we went. Staff were very nice despite it being a busier night. Paid $28 (including GST and service charge) for 2 pizzas, so it was very worth with the burpple discount! Not so classic marg ($24) Loved the buffalo mozzarella! Almighty cheese ($24) There was goat cheese as part of it and with nice crispy bits on the top to add more texture. Drizzled with hot honey (I think it’s meant to be hot as in spicy but it wasn’t that spicy). I personally love the savoury and sweet combo.

Butter Chicken ($28) Quite a unique combi and while the butter chicken couldn't replicate the creamy goodness of the authentic ones, it still passed muster. Loved the addition of the pickled onions as well, giving every bite a nice crunch and a slight tang.

Plant Square ($26) A medley of colourful veges adorned over a beautiful tomato sauce atop a delicious sourdough base. Think semi-dried tomatoes, huge black olives, slices of grilled eggplant and zucchini, slivers of mushrooms and bell peppers and artichokes. Lovely variety and all coming together so well. The accompanying chilli oil was pure goodness as well - drizzle it onto your pizza and also the crust for an added oomph.

This adds to the nutrition level of the pork – rich in vitamin c, pectin and citric acid. Their yuzu pork katsu set available in both pork loin and pork fillet. High Quality Japanese Bowl Rice Just realised they have rebranding from Issho to Nekuta. Food quality is really good & affordable. Surprisingly not many people in this legit Japanese shop. Ordered unagi rice bowl $8.80 + extra jellyfish $2.50. Overall, it’s a light & tasty lunch. Good for those who pursue nutrition balance meal without burning your pocket.

Yuzu Mayo Mentaiko Maki $9.90 So Goood New Japanese Fusion Food at affordable price. This place relatively new. And not many people knew yet about this gem in Lavender. Don’t judge the restaurant by its exterior. Their food is quite legit with wallet friendly price. The Yuzu Mayo Mentaiko Maki was amazing. Ordered Japan flown oysters too at $2 each. Fresh, large & succulent. Yum! Perhaps the cheapest oyster served in a bar or restaurant I found so far. Will come back again for their Healthy Bowl ($8.80). Satisfied customer.

Lamb Shank Kritharoto Lastly, we ordered Lamb Shank Kritharoto ($50.80) which is a sharing platter consisting of lamb shank and orzo pasta. The tender lamb shank is pretty gamy at first but I got used to it after a while. This is also my first time trying orzo pasta, which is a short-cut pasta shaped like a grain of rice. The pasta absorbs the flavour of the lamb completely and it is rich, tasty and deceptively filling. Although it is quite salty, the saltiness does help to counter the gaminess. Would recommend this if you are a lamb lover!

Unagi Linguine Mala unagi linguine ($14) XO King prawn linguine ($14.95) ⭐️ 3/5 ⭐️ 🍴Affordable lunch bowls averaging $15 at this cosy restaurant in the CBD. Flavour-wise, the pastas were enjoyable with their unique Asian twist on a classic Italian dish. The mala was fragrant with a good level of spicy kick, while the XO prawn was rich in umami notes. The seafood was also well-marinated and fresh, and we enjoyed the soft and tender unagi, and juicy king prawns. While the pasta was nicely al-dente, we found the texture to be slightly strange - almost more starchy (sticks to the teeth) and floury. Truffle Fries Pipping hot, the Truffle Fries ($12) were good too. Thicker than shoestring fries, their rendition was rather addictive. The golden-brown exterior stayed wondrously crisp, and the grated Parmesan cheese is always a plus on well-seasoned fries. Though I could only wish that the portion was bigger.

Wagyu Gold Mash The new restrictions are a real downer but that also means more options and opportunities to order in. Hence, with my recent visit to Beurre over lunch, I definitely see myself ordering their Wagyu Gold Mash ($18) again. Served with a savoury black pepper sauce on the side, the medium-rare wagyu steak was succulent and juicy. The protein was also nicely seasoned and well-executed, pretty decent for the price point. Sitting below the thick, hearty slices were glorious Yukon gold mashed potatoes. The silken mash was perfectly buttery and creamy - went exceptionally well with the meaty flavour of the wagyu.
