Smoke salmon bagel So sad that the place has closed down. Tried the bagel once and it is amazing! They really offered good deli food and coffee.

Classic Reuben Had always wanted to try a decent Reuben sandwich and here I found it! The restaurant’s version came w a generous serving of the cured meat, on thin toasts. Unfortunately, the toast was a tad too “doughy” and hard to pull apart. Would have been better if it was just toasted lightly, or if a brioche was used instead.

1hour+ Wait For Brunch, Stale Latkis & Got “Chased Out” 🤢 I don’t even wanna talk about the price, but you’d imagine $20-30++ for brunch per mains @ Mandarin Gallery. Made a reservation @ 10.30am along with 5 other friends for a b’day brunch. Our orders only arrived at 11.45am... and I was really excited to dig into my pastrami and crispy latki dish, a Jewish potato & onion crispy “rosti pancake”. Well, all I got were hard, stale pieces of pure disappointment. They’ve probably been windowed for too long, not served warm and it was a total chore to finish the dish. To make things worst, out group got “chased out” by the staffs at 12.20pm, kept reminding us that they have a party of 11 to cater to and hope me understand... was it our fault that y’all took so long to serve us?! Guess it’s safe to say that we didn’t quite enjoyed a quality B’day brunch 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Red Curry Chicken (31sgd) Not overly spicy despite couple chilies in the dish. Tender and flavorful. Yet another pricey dish!

Fried Rice With Crab Meat (28sgd) Excellent grainy fragrant fried rice stir fried with shredded pieces of (flower?) crab meat and fresh cucumbers. Aromatic and well seasoned. No doubt pricey too.

Fried Rice With Roast Duck (Used Burpple Beyond) Fried rice was good in itself, being on the softer side(which I prefer) but each grain was separate from the rest. Decent amount of wok hei but the rice itself wasn't too well-seasoned so you can have it with other dishes. Roast duck was also tender and added nice bursts of flavour. Quite a solid plate but nothing too crazy

Mixed Bowl Tendon Still a competent version that's not great yet haha.

To die for #wagyumentaidon 😋😋😋 Do not ever miss this dish to try for, superb and nice with cold sprite. Tasty beef topped with mentaiko sauce ❤️

Sourdough Loaf - Field ($9) This was one of the best sourdoughs I’ve had! It’s chewy but not till the point of a jaw ache, with a well-balanced flavour. A quick search of ‘firebake’ on my telegram chats would show that “I think firebake’s one is v nice/the best/rly good” 🤪 Pictured is a slice slathered with Tasmanian walnut butter, but I eat it plain as well, because it’s that good. I’m really sad that they have ceased operations, thank you Firebake for the great sourdough! :)

Cheesymite [$4.50] Big, flaky, buttery. Would love for the vegemite adn cheese taste to be more pronounced though.

Rustic Chicken Pie [$12] Pie had chunks of chicken mixed with the vegetables, though the mushroom was kind of lacking. We were quite disappointed upon cutting the pie open as it wasn't nicely filled. It was too salty for our tastes as well. Tbvh - personally, would prefer the old school chicken pie.

Prior to ordering, I had informed the staff that we were using it and they did not mention this. Upon checking the receipt and clarifying, they said that it was clearly stated in the T&C and only 1 voucher could be used for every 2 pax. I tried searching for this but no where was it stated. After looking at recent reviews from other outlets, it is clear that this wasn’t just due to my lack of conscientiousness. Overall, wouldn’t recommend this place mainly due to such practices. Food (coffee and brunch) and services were average at best. Burgers were almost bland and at this price point, I would say that there are a lot of better options out there. Won’t bother going back.

Perennial Favourite 🌟 Our party of 3 ordered the cheeseburger, which was good, because the patty was moist and juicy. The truffle mushroom pizza was great too, not too overpowering in terms of the truffle taste, yet sufficient to complement and bring out the flavours of the mushroom. The fish tacos is always my favourite to order because of how delightful the fruits and the fish prove to be refreshing. Ideal for sharing.

Crispy Chicken Burger. ($11.90, additional $2 for straight cut fries or $2.50 for truffle/sweet potato fries). #burpplebeyond 🍔 This gigantic burger was obviously too big to fit into my mouth 😂 but I surely wouldn’t mind even with the messiness when it starts crumbling down. What more could I ask for in a multi-layered burger that has a massive piece of juicy chicken with crispy batter easily torn off, and covered with melted cheese? Not forgetting the fresh lettuce and tomatoes, and a fried egg with a runny yolk. Love those buttered, fluffy buns too. Decent Burgers but Note The Exclusions From Deal Do note that the double cheeseburger is not part of the 1 for 1 deal. You aren’t allowed to add fries to your burger as well. Nevertheless, still a decent burger for the deal.

Signature Burger (~9.90) Burgers slightly on the dry side, but not much of an issue. What I had an issue with was the poor service received there. Staff was cold and ordered an extra item that we had to pay for. Would not bother to rate/10

Signature Joe Maki ($16) Generally I would say that the standard of food at Tokyo Joe is average. Tried the signature joe maki for the first time other than trying their donburis. Rice was soft and chewy, wrapping the tempura prawn in it. Topped with torched salmon slices, finished off with mentaiko sauce and flying fish roe. Though being a seafood sushi roll, it was not fishy. However the size of each maki piece was a little small, and for the same price, there’s probably other bigger and more flavourful maki rolls offered elsewhere.

Salmon Chirashi & Salmon Teriyaki Don Came here for Burpple beyond 1-1 deal after reading the reviews. Was however disappointed to know that all beef and unagi bowls are no longer included in the deal. Both salmon chirashi & salmon teriyaki don were not very impressive but might come back again to try the wagyu bowls

Gyu Don $16 Ordered the version without truffle. Since their barachirashi fish-to-rice ratio tends to be inconsistent, I'd recommend having this at Tokyo Joe instead. Slivers of beef were nothing much to shout about, but on a whole still pretty tasty with the sweetish sauce.

For 1-for-1 Donburi (save ~$13) Turn to this rice and grain bowl joint for a feel-good, post-workout meal. The value-for-money Unagi Don ($11) sees tender unagi slicked in a teriyaki glaze on a bed of perfectly seasoned rice – perfect for a quick and healthy meal. The Healthiest (Worst) Chicken Rice $13 chicken rice grain bowl . Lightly poached chicken on mixed grain rice with cucumbers and sweet cherry tomatoes. Rather disappointed that the elements didn't quite come together and the overall taste was rather flat. Also, the chilli sauce that this was supposed to come with was "out of stock". Was only told by the service staff that it was unavailable when questioned. Little to no service or information provided. Price: $13 👎🏻👎🏻

Unagi And Chicken Rice Set First time visiting holland V. outlet but the experience was rather disappointing as compared to Orchard outlet. The chicken rice taste blend and the food is relatively cold.
