First time at the newly renovated Orchard Cineleisure @ Somerset. On a weekday afternoon, the place was relatively empty and was very cosy. They have a in store selected pasta 1-1 for Mon-Wed but since our selections were a little more premium, we used the Burpple 1-1 deal. Will return again!
That’s a win, so that we can share a nice meal over Tom Yum. My first time at the Funan outlet, relatively spacious. Ordering was all via the touchscreen but it was a pretty seamless process. Hearty soups and not too spicy so it’s a friendly option. As my friend pointed out, their Thai Tea even Hot, was pretty satisfactory. Would consider coming back again especially with to eat with Muslim friends!
Used the 1-1 for the mains: Beef Short Rib Fettuccine (nicely al dente) & Mixed Mushrooms Pizza (very flavourful). Added on some sides: Truffle Fries (they were somehow delightfully creamy?) and Crispy Chicken Wings. Ultra filling although sharing between 2 people. Friendly staff and good customer service. We made a reservation but since we were early and there was still space, we we seated outdoors. Will definitely return to try other mains!
* MAKE RESERVATION IN ADVANCE* Pardon the savage image because I gobbled up my main before taking a proper photo. The highlight on the left: Stracci Ai Gamberi E Capesante. This pasta with saffron cream sauce was divine. This is the kinda sauce you will cry with frustration when you suddenly think of it again because you CANNOT recreate it so easily. Having the stracci was a first time for me as well, an Italian Mee Hoon Kueh of sorts. We had soups for appetisers (Cream of Mushroom & Lobster Bisque), pasta for mains (aforementioned & Spaghetti Alle Vongole Aglio Olio E Peperonicino) and shared dessert (Panna Cotta All’amaretto & Torta Di Mele Al Mascarpone - Apple Cake topped w Ice Cream). Had to hustle in 90min for safe management measures but honestly the food came timely and service staff was friendly. As recommended in the other burpple reviews which was useful: ask for tap water if you don’t wanna drain your wallet and are not intending on some bubbly.
Few outlets avail around the island. Food good for its price point. Am personally a fan of Custard buns and was quite pleased.
I always come back just to have that swirly ice cream atop the square waffles. Best to come during the off peak of the late afternoon.
Back at it again at Prive @ ACM. As usual great ambience and service, was greeted with a great seat as I had reserved beforehand. Had a caesar salad that was slightly salty but overall hearty. My friend had a breakfast set and it was an all rounder. We wanted to share some tarts for dessert but were only left with the lemon tart which was decent enough. Hope to try the fruit tart and chocolate one in future!
My friend reserved a spot about a month in advance. We had No.4 ($15) and No.9 ($19) and they were vastly different in taste which made for two flavours good for sharing. I reckon No.4&5 are safe bets. Very very large portion and kept us full. (For scale size if one can’t picture how bit, imagine thosai/dosa).
Most will come here for the Galettes but do stay and save space for the dessert crepes. We had No.22 ($12) and the poached pears were absolutely lovely with the chocolate drizzle. Topped off with Hojicha Ice Cream from Birds of Paradise. Really tasty dessert and good to share after the savoury mains.
Came here for a friend’s birthday. Very pretty place. Vegetarian options available. Relatively more fine foods and slightly pricey but understandable for location. Place was accommodative to one of my friends with pescatarian food preferences.
Pretty place and packed with people. We had the two “adult pastas” on the menu. While it looked a little small, they were relatively filling. An interesting take on fusion foods. The mocha was alright.
Just a little down from nex, a newly opened Dessert joint. Pretty decent waffles. Had to darj chocolate and pistachio. Will return again to try the other sides and flavours~
