New Face, Same Ways Relate to the feeling of reconnecting with a friend you haven't seen in a while, and who'd gone through drastic changes? This cocktail 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘀𝗲, 𝗡𝗼 𝗘𝗴𝗴 ($25) consisted of cheddar, cream, honey and star anise smoke, and boy did it hit the spot hard. It had a whole gamut of flavours — sweet, smokey and savoury, with a heavy-hitting spirit base that hid a tinge of spice. Its flavours were eloquently announced on the palate through a mouthfeel that I'd liken to a lightly-creamy soup with hints of starchiness.

Underneath the changes, they still held that familiarly spunky and adventurous spirit. I didn't quite feel the same spark yet, but we're slowing getting reacquainted and I'm confident of rediscovering that original flame we had.
