Brekkie Champions
$24.50 | Great variety however brioche toast was too thick and super dry. Maple bacon was a tad too sweet. Love the mushroom and tomato though! Super juicy and generous portion! Nothing too special over the homemade baked beans.
Rodyk Style Eggs Benedict
$21.50 | Poached eggs was not runny at all and definitely overcooked.
Coffee was bad. Real bad. It’s very sour and a pretty small cup considering the price. Do give it a miss if you are not a fan of sour coffee. No idea what’s the hype over their coffee.
It’s not convenient to come here if you’re driving as there’s not much parking around this area except for hotel parking. Honestly, if not for the Burpple 1-1 deal, I wouldn’t consider stepping in at all. Food was mediocre and doesn’t justify the steep price. There are better cafes out there that serves better food and coffee at a cheaper price. Don’t understand the hype over this cafe. Definitely won’t be returning again though the service was great.
Cafe Bakeaholic serves both sweet and savoury items. However, most of the sweet items were out of stock when we arrive in the afternoon which was a huge bummer. Pastries that were displayed doesn’t look appealing at all. Hence, we ordered the Maple Chicken Croffle ($15) and Potato Wedges ($5.50). Chicken was marinated well and tender. Potato wedges took ridiculously long to arrive - about 20mins. Nothing too special about the wedges.
Given that the drinks were on the pricier side, I expected it to be better. We ordered Long Black ($6) and a Cappuccino ($7) but it tasted really average. Have had even better coffees at other cafes for cheaper price.
To be honest, in my opinion, if the food continues to be mediocre and expensive for such a small portion, I don’t think the business will survive in the long run. Currently, it’s just riding on the fame of the celebrity.
Would I patronise again? Maybe not. I don’t think it’s worth the trouble to travel down to the cafe if you live pretty far away unless you are near the area.
$15 | About 20 minutes waiting time. Served hot and the plating was so beautiful! Hotcakes was so soft and fluffy. Matches really well with the stuffed cream cheese. Honey was drizzled all over the pancakes so you won’t find it dry at all. Super duper generous amount of nuts and berries too. Portion might seem small but it was actually very filling - almost couldn’t finish it! Considering the price, I would say this is very worth it!
Staffs are all super friendly and made our visit very enjoyable. Will definitely be back again to try out other dishes.
$7.90++ | Uji Matcha and Sweet Potato Latte. A really special combination which you don’t get to see often! In every sip, you could taste the bitterness of the uji matcha and just a tinge of sweet potato. Wasn’t too sweet as well as it uses soy milk which was perfect.
$12.90++ | I would say that their portion are pretty small. Croissant was crispy and smoked salmon was pretty fresh. Scrambled eggs are soft and creamy. Although menu stated that there will be avocado, but I couldn’t taste it at all. Felt like they were stingy with the amount of avocado given.
$17 | Angus beef patty was soft and juicy! I’m in love with how the Insides of the patty were still red! Every bite was so flavourful and matches so well with the ketchup, cheese and spiced mayo! Would totally recommend!
House Fries
$5 | Fries were not oily, just that it was a little overcooked. House-made ketchup was really special as it was sweet and not like your usual ketchup that’s sour. Enough to share for 2 person.
Vanilla Milkshake
$10 | It was pretty thick hence quite difficult to drink through the straw. Sweetness was just right when matched with the fries!
Will advice to make a reservation before heading down as it really crowded and a long wait for walk ins.
$12.90 | Noodles consistency was alright, could be better. It was chewy though not really firm enough. I like that the pasta was watery and there’s more than enough sauce. Won’t get too jelak towards the end which was good!
If you have NTUC Plus! Card, you get a 15% discount off! Pretty affordable I would say!
$5.60 | Have been wanting to try this for the longest time! Creamy and smooth yoghurt blended with purple rice. Super generous amount of purple rice given and very chewy. Great as a post workout meal as it’s very filling! Would be back to try out other drinks as well!
$14.90++ | Affordable and delicious! Even more worth it with the Burpple Beyond app.
Love that we can swap out the carbs for healthier choice (eg. Quinoa Brown Rice, Cauliflower Rice) with additional cost. Generous amount of tuna and salmon cubes and onsen egg was perfect! Truffle fries were pretty good too. Overall, a great place to catch up with friends or just to drink after work.
$7.30 | A very surprising combination yet it taste super amazing! Strong oolong tea aroma and oats topping were very chewy! Great alternative to people like me that doesn’t like pearls. Would totally be back for more next time!
$7 & $6 | Quite disappointed with their carrot cake. Cinnamon taste was super strong and there’s not much cream in between the layers. Felt like I was eating normal cake instead rather than carrot cake.
Passionfruit Meringue Cake was good! Super moist and soft. The sweetness of the cream and sourness of the passionfruit when mixed together was perfect. Great as an after meal dessert!
$17 | Portion might seem small on photo but it’s actually just right. It was oven-baked before serving hence the eggs were not flowy anymore. However, the english muffins were still very soft and super delicious together with the smoked salmon. Would totally recommend this!
Be sure to make an reservation if you’re heading there for brunch/ lunch otherwise it’s going to be quite a queue. It was very crowded when we went there and it was super noisy indoors. Do consider outdoors if you do not mind the heat and want to dine with the sea view.
