ordered skewers for the first time here, good but I think Iāll just stick to the makis next time. the usuals make me happier lol.
a few dishes I liked were: smoked duck poppers, chicken & mushroom tomyum pasta and grilled shrimp tacos. we also had a triple cheese burger with pork patty which was quite delicious too!

thank you sarah @burp.tanjongkt for having us!
beef slices were soft and tasty but my regular sized bowl came with merely a few slices of it. it didnāt take long until I was down to my last slice with a lot of rice left; thankfully the rice, with bits of pepper and the egg yolk, was delicious on its own. my bowl is affordable at $11 but I donāt think itās the most value of money. the service I got was also largely unenthusiastic and transactional. quite an underwhelming experience and now I see why it was empty during lunch hour.
featured items are: pan-seared salmon w mashed potato, shiok burger (fried chicken + sunny side up + chilli crab sauce), tom yum seafood pasta, chocolate molten lava cake. order the tom yum seafood pasta if you come by! the pasta was overcooked this time but the sauce is as good as the last I had it!

thank you dawn @citrusbythepool and @foodmakescalhappy for having me!
we liked the grilled limbo fish in green pepper sauce better - the sauce was numbing + tangy, goes very well with rice and whets your appetite for more! the limbo fish was also very soft and very easy to eat. we ordered the classic chongqing grilled qingjiang fish too, otherwise the tanyu experience would seem incomplete. their classic however wasnāt as impressive; sauce was good but the fish was tough, which made it difficult to eat. the staff will try to upsell qingjiang fish to you, itās not that nice and itās another $3 more so DONāT fall for it.

and just so yāall know: mcdonaldās, not macdonaldās.
both flavours (sweet potato and sea salt) were good but the gold and silver flake toppings canāt get any more frivolous. they taste like nothing and float away when I stand under the aircon vent and I also have stupid friends who try to blow them off my ice cream. š DONT EVER ADD THESE USELESS TOPPINGS. itās an additional $5+ for each serving.
tucked in the standalone corner of food republic at vivocity is @fuxiangsignatures that serves simple and no frills chinese curry dishes. their curry fish head doesnāt disappoint and I also like their, ironically for a curry place, creamy sauce chicken! itās basically fried chicken with rich and creamy sauce. fried and unhealthy, no wonder I like HAHA. also look out for the assam prawns that will be on their menu soon! spicy and tangy, very good with rice.

thank you elphin @fuxiangsignatures for inviting me!
