Oyakodon 14++ Good as ever, take note it's very hot so don't mix the egg yolk in too quickly else it gets cooked and you lose abit of the creaminess

liver 3++ Creamy and unctuous. Still one of the best, despite the liver taste

Cheese pudding 8++ Very rich cheese flavour coming thru, for mascarpone. The texture was more creamy than pudding like, this was amazing Must try

I tried the Kyoto Black Bean Tea pudding 😋, which apparently is well-received among women as it is packed with polyphenols that has anti-aging & skin whitening effect. ✌🏻 The texture is like a dense custard mousse, creamy & smooth 💕

Fantastic! This location definitely offers more seating than the one at Novena but it’s really about timing and luck to secure a seat especially if you don’t arrive at the opening hours. That aside, the food were fantastic. Ordered the Avo Baco (top left), Personal Best (bottom right) with Avocado Smoothie for brunch and it was the perfect serving for 3 small eaters. (Pro tip: use a spoon to scoop the avocado smoothie because the straw gets all crumpled and gets harder to get the drink out) 😂

Yong tau foo! I have been eating Bai Nian for many years now! However, it has been around 3 years since I last ate it! (Used to frequent the stall at Chai Chee area after gym classes!) Happy to know that they have opened up another stall at Old Airport Food Centre now! I think the prices have increased though. It is now $5.90 for the yong tau foo meal. What is so special about the yong tau foo here is that it is a fixed set that consists of various yongtaufoo items, as well as specialty such as prawn ball and meat balls. The Meat Balls are my favourite! Super love their spicy hot chilli sauce too! This stall used to have a very very long queue at Albert Centre hawker, not sure if it is still the same now! But I must say, over the years, the portions seem to have shrunk... If you will like to try them, head to 01-154 at Old Airport Hawker Centre!

Regular ($4.90) Perfect Comfort food. It comes with ingredients such as prawn, pork, bitter gourd, meat tenders, beancurd etc. Eating this always leaves me satisfied, and the uncles and aunties have great service too. If you think the portion is too small, you can upsize to the $5.90 bowl, or get their set with chicken wing which is $6.30.

Yong Tau Foo Another Yong Tau Foo Shop that I was eating again under the wishlist because I forgot to take photo last time that I went there. Loocated at opposite Bugis Junction and I always avoid lunch time crowds because like a lot of people queue for picking ingredients 😬. Plus the shop look quite more spacious than in the past due to Covid-19 social distancing. Yong Tau Foo ($4.90 for six ingredients + Noodle or Rice) or you don't like to eat Noodle or Rice you can pick one more ingredients. I realised that I got a bit disappointed with pork meatballs as its look dry and hard) compared in the past (probably they cooked them too early alr) 🙃

Yong Tau Foo ($5.60) Honestly quite impressed by this place! The place is known for the meatballs & mushroom, and I could see why. The meatball is crunchy on the outside, well seasoned and kinda had an ikan bilis taste; the mushroom was very mushroomy and soft and slippery. I also liked the veg as it had some crunch. Taupok and taukwa were decent, taukwa was fresh and q soft but not as soft as fulin. Arrived just before the lunch crowd hit, at about 12.15pm so come early if you don’t like queueing!

Favourite YTF Favorite Yong Tau Foo from Lucky Plaza! As great as ever, my favourites are the mushrooms and meatballs. This meal will always be a 10/10 for me.

Traditional English Fruit Cake The description on the tag that came with this was “moist soft cake with fruity brandy” - it was indeed soft and moist! Texture was really nice. Loved the depth of flavour. A warm/spiced flavour, slightly alcoholic & sweet. Think fruit cakes have a bad rep bc of the dry crumb / unpleasant dried fruit bits (that get stuck in ur teeth 😢) but this cake has none of that. Bot sure what exactly is in there but there's definitely raisins and figs - big love for figs be of how naturally sweet it is + the crunchy seeds. Everyone at the Christmas party enjoyed it!

Coconut walnut scone (free with some Prudential sign-up?) Dude said it's recently out of the oven but it's cold. Like pretty damn cold. Texture was very very average too.

Banana Coconut Pound Cake Slice ($3+) This was super moist, has mostly a banana taste w coco shreds. It’s rly super wet leh, not rly the usual texture of banana cake that I’m used to. It’s decent and not bad by any means, but it’s just not to our preference.

Crab parpadelle ($36) 🦀 5/5 This date night favourite may not have a distinctive name but Pasta Bar sure delivers. Their $30+ pastas pack so much flavour in their delicate portions that the 2 of us didn't regret splurging on 3 pastas during our exclusive night out here. This dish was the star of the night, and could be found on everyone's bar counter. The pasta looks strikingly jaundiced but don't be put off! Its colour probably has something to do with its deeply umami flavour. This was so unique we should have ordered 3 of these.

Tagiatelle ($34) 🍝 4/5 We thought we should get a pasta with a little meat so we ordered this tagiatelle full of tender, thick clumps of pulled beef. Definitely a delight for the senses but it couldn't beat the crab.

Ciriole carbonara ($34) 🥓 4/5 We were greedy for a third so we tried the ever-safe choice of carbonara. The ciriole sure was thick and chewy and definitely lent a unique house-made dimension to this dish. The carbonara was done the authentic dry style which was satisfying with the cheese at first but got a teeny bit clumpy in the end.

Chicago-Style Spinach & Artichoke Dip ($24) corn chips, roasted salsa, pecorino It was good, the corn chips were thin and crisp, tasted quite fresh (not sure if they fry it themselves??) The spinach and artichoke dip was earthy, coupled with the pecorino which was a bit stinky (in a good way) and cheesy. Each time I eat artichokes I don’t rly get the hype lol it tastes like bamboo shoots to me. I liked the spinach part nonetheless. My friend thought it didn’t rly pair well with the chips and I see where he’s coming from but I was okay! The roasted salsa was delicious, it was hearty and well-balanced, those went really well with the chips. We had 5 pax and I think it was a good size for us.

Swirl Soft Serve Ice Cream | $8 Got the blue label soft serve ice cream in a cup for $8, and added brownie chunks for another $2. The swirl flavour simply means you get a mix of both vanilla and after eight, a mint chocolate flavour. I thoroughly adored the texture of the soft serve here, it does not melt too quickly, and has a nice milkiness to it. Hesitated adding the brownie chunks - but it really elevated the experience for me with that added chewiness. Rate:🌟🌟🌟🌟

The Original Famous | $32 Have been wanting to try Blue Label for a long time knowing how their restaurants exude a classy, yet laid-back retro bar vibe. It was a nice, cozy ambience even at the bar seats - which lucky walk-ins get relegated to especially when the restaurant is fully booked. The Original Famous composed of a five cheese blend together with a tomato base and basil. The pizza here has a crustier, crunchier texture unlike of course, your sourdough pizzas. But the crunch was well-appreciated, and the crust was of a nice thinness. The flavours of this classic pizza was simply enjoyable, nothing too heavy with the cheesiness on point! Rate:🌟🌟🌟
