Batang Fish Soup with Rice ($6) One of my childhood spots for fish soup. The fish is reasonably plump and juicy, with no fishy taste at all. The soup is clear and tasty, not too salty, but has a savoury flavour from the preserved veg (?) and shallots. It comes with some veg (not lettuce!), and the rice has a nice texture, not too dry nor mashy. I love rice that is well cooked so that is important to me haha

Garoupa fish slice mee sua ($10) One of several fish soups in this hawker centre, this was a decent sliced fish soup with a flavourful soup and fresh springy fish slices. However the garoupa slices were not thick enough to justify the price, the mee sua was hard, and the soup was slightly too peppery for my liking. Some people really like this stall though, so it may be personal preference.

Batang Fish Soup With Rice ($5 + $0.50 for Rice) One of my sec sch favourites! The fish is quite succulent, with no fishy smells! Also, they give tang o veg, which I enjoy. The soup is pretty flavourful - my dad and I drank it allll up. I have to give a shoutout for the rice - it’s of a decent quality, and it is separated / not clumpy so it’s great for drenching in fish soup :)

Squid Ink Paella We had - Burrata from Puglia & Proscuitto from Parma w Roasted Tomatoes & Italian Foccacia ($25) - Signature Pork Cheek ($19) - Squid Ink Paella ($34 for 1-2pax) - Micasa Famous Churros served w/ Dark Chocolate & Lemon Curd ($7.5 for 3 pieces, $12 for 5 pieces) The burrata with the foccacia was great, the pork cheek was a bit meh to me, probably could have tried the beef instead. The Squid Ink Paella was flavourful with generous amount of ingredients. The Churros were thinner than I expected, the lemon Curd is a good sauce to dip in with it. Overall, a good place to try but for the price point, I expected more. It will be hard to get a parking lot given the location The total bill cost us about $100 3/5

Octopus ($32) Worthhhh. It was crispy on the outside and super tender on the inside. Their garlic sauce and chickpea puree was so so flavourful as well!

Qinji Pork Rougamo ($5.80) Out of the few restaurants in ARC, this place has never attracted me for no reason. But so surprised when I finally tried it (was forced to by colleague lol), as it’s not bad at all! First time trying a rougamo and I loved it. Ordered the basic pork variant, and the buns are super flaky, matching really well with the savoury and juicy pork filling. Qinji Pork Rougamo This bun was so yummy. It's chock-full of meat at $5.80 per pc and warm and crispy while being juicy all at once.

Noodle Set Lunch set at $15.90, sour and spicy sweet potato noodles with minced pork- very umami and tasty!

Matcha Blueberry Donut Finally tried to get their donut so long 👀 bc I just passby food fair @ taka and also they got booth at there. I saw that they sell a variety of different flavour for donut but not much left as I went around after work. So my mum felt that their donut texture similar to bread texture but its slightly dry and a bit hard to cut thru. For matcha filling, I felt that it's not much bitter and blended towards sweet texture and a bit blueberry aftertaste.

Melbourne cookie - Looked similar to the ones from Folks and Stories, chewy and chunky! - Roasted hazelnuts gave a crunch to the ooey gooey texture with caramelised burnt honey in the cookie mix, with an acidic fruity undertone of dark chocolate. - Loved how full-bodied it was ✨

Chocolate hazelnut passionfruit lava tart - Wasn’t as oozy as I’d expected but the sweet chocolate was well-balanced by citrusy passionfruit and nutty hazelnut praline at the bottom 🍫 - Hazelnut cookie shell was super buttery and the crisp crumbly texture contrasted well with the creamy filling!

THE APPETISERS ARE SO GOOD Pão de Queijo - a Brazilian cheese bread. It also comes with a bread basket with unsalted butter and SUPER GOOD SEAWEED BUTTER

Kulto cheesecake ($16) Gooey, oozy cheesecake with a thin bottom crumble layer. Savory, tangy, and nutty from the mix of different cheeses. Paired with refreshing tangy raspberry sorbet (wished there was more of this for better balance to cut through the richness). Have seen many comparing this to Olivia’s cheesecake but Olivia’s rendition remains the reigning champion for me, inching out in terms of complexity and refinement.

Crab croquette Crispy edges with creamy and spicy chili crab filling. If nitpicking, would have appreciated more crab meat.

Squid ink paella Savory and flavourful squid ink paella with strong umami notes. Texture of the rice was great with nice Socarrat from the edges. Also enjoyed the fresh and tender assortment of squid, clams, mussels, and fish. Would be keen to try their seafood paella next!

Surprisingly A Winner At about ~$20 per Wagyu burger, I must say this is quite the steal. The unanimous favourite that day during the soft launch was the 𝙏𝙚𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙮𝙖𝙠𝙞 𝘾𝙝𝙚𝙚𝙨𝙚 𝘽𝙪𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙧 (~$16), with the subtle sweet terriyaki crusting over the salty fatty melt in your mouth Wagyu patty.🍔🍔 Ig @goodfomood

Yes, Too Much Foie Gras Exists For the 𝙁𝙤𝙞𝙚 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙨 𝘽𝙪𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙧𝙨 we tried (~$24-$28), the foie gras kind of overpowered the beef and the bun, which was abit toooo much for my liking. Hopefully they made tweaks before their official launch 😅 Ig @goodfomood

Wagyu Burger $26 So we had the burger that day because nothing else caught out eye. Which was decent. Soft buns, flavourful and moist patty and with a side of fat fries.

The Kitchen Beef $37 Stated grass fed beef steak, but not the cut on the menu although it tasted like flank to me since it was pretty much a lean cut with not much fats. We asked for medium but came out medium rare. Would go for their other more exotic stuff and give the steak here a miss.

Duck And Foie Gras Burger $34 I liked the loosely packed patty that came with discernable bits of foie gras. But wouldn't have guessed the rest of it was actually duck. Came with a sharp blue cheese sauce to cut through the grease. Hand cut fries made for a nice side. Only qualm was perhaps the slightly tough burger.

Delicious ribeye steak Repeat customer at this place and i always order the charcoal grilled whiskey ribeye. Tender n flavorful. Super worth it with Burpple 1for1

Phenomenal Meat. We arrived at the establishment, not too for away from the MRT, making it very convenient for meat-craving souls, such as ourselves. The place was rather filled, a testiment to the reviews we've perused. Thankfully, we made a reservation. We got the Charcoal Grilled Whisky Ribeye. There was some wait time, but the songs queued slapped real hard (like the meat). Then, The Meat arrived. My first bite reminded me of my first kiss - wet, juicy and delicious. Not sure if it was the whiskey, but we were completely intoxicated. The way the flavors came together was utterly spectacular and left us begging for more. The meat bolstered a rich complex flavour, which was further enhanced by the flaky sea salt that brought the sweetness out of the meat.

Maybe not Nacho and cheese @ $6+ Chips felt like they were from a store bought bag. Cheese was served cold. Would go for other sides next time.

REOPENED ‼️SYIP (Farrer Park) was closed for 2 months for renovation, they finally reopened with new and better menu as well as a WABISABI cafe interior ✨

SPECIAL FOAM DRINKS it’s so hard to decide but must try their CHOCOLATE PISTACHIO FOAM ($7) from the drinks listing, their OSMANTHUS OOLONG MATCHA FOAM ($7) was super tempting too!

BSM HOUJICHA TIRAMISU For Desserts, Must go for their Black Sesame Houjicha Tiramisu ($12)‼️ they started from tiramisu and yes their tiramisu is still 👌💯!
