It is a Chinese cooking method, prepared with a simmering pot of soup stock at the dining table, containing a variety of fresh ingredients. City Hot Pot is one of the Shabu Shabu restaurant in Singapore that offers premium Chinese steamboat at a very affordable prices. .

What I love about this place is they offers an individual hot pot which can be divided into two. I chose one-half of the pot filled with spicy broth, and the other half filled with non-spicy broth so I got a chance to try both. This gives more options and balance in flavors for the meat, seafood, vegetables and even the soup. It's like a two-in-one deal! And on top of that there’s fourteen different soup bases to choose from.

Only good quality meats and freshest ingredients are used here. A good value hot pot which is a great place for a family gatherings or even just for a casual meet up with your friends.

Starting off our meal with the Salmon Mentaiko Carpaccio ($8.80) a thinly slices of salmon sashimi topped with cherry tomatoes, shallots, fish roe and a spicy yet tangy sauce. Crispy and juicy Chicken Karaage ($9.80) pieces are coated in a sweet and spicy salted egg chilli sauce. If you prefer gentler heat, these appetisers are the one for you. .

A must-try dish is Spicy Rock’s Curry Rice that is available in the sweeter, milder Chicken Curry option, or the richer and slightly spicier Black Beef Curry option. We had the Spicy Rock Pork Katsu Curry Rice ($18.80) and were blown away by the generous serving portions! The curry was thick and flavourful with a hint of sweetness that contrasted the mild hint of spiciness. Mentaiko Ramen ($14.80) the broth is rich and milky with spicy umami flavour and the noodle was springy and yummy.

Weekdays Set Lunch Menu ($9.90++) that features unique flavours and international cuisines and even fusion tapas food are offered here. .

We tried two of their special lunch set menus the BBQ Pork Ribs Donabe with Onsen egg and Miso soup and Spaghetti Aglio Olio with Prawns. Love how the bbq pork ribs was executed and really delicious. I wish the aglio olio has slightly bigger prawns and slightly less garlic. And to end a good meal, Chocolate Fondant with assorted berries and mango sorbet is a must try here.

Opened just a few month’s ago at Hong Lee Coffeeshop at No 7 Eunos Cresent. They chose this place so they can offer their western dishes at a very affordable prices without compromising on the quality and quantity. I would say they are very generous with the portion of their dishes. Their Signature and Chef Nicolas own creation, the Monterey Jack Chicken ($10) and Mac & Cheese ($5) are definitely my top picks! For a cheese lover, these two are a must try! The quality of cheese they use is highly noticeable here. We also tried some of their dishes like their bestseller Grilled Chicken Chop ($7), Pan Seared Salmon ($10), Carbonara ($6) and BBW Ultimate Beef Burger ($8).
