I usually go to the other laksa stall at Queensway but this opens earlier and satisfies my craving just as well. Small laksa with ham $6 and curry chick with bread/rice $5.50 not sure if the bread was fresh but curry was good and overall good for sharing for 2 pax.

Decided to walk over after completing our railway corridor (north) hike. V chill and can see some ppl riding on horses too. We ordered prawn ball ($18++), chicken ($20++) and seafood aglio olio ($21++). Food was decent but a little ex. Place might close down since turf club is closing….

Decided to try the new Jap store Kumo since Hideki moved out but still prefer Hideki’s dons… waited around 15 mins for my food and salmon don $8.90 was ok (only rice and salmon were hot, the other sides were cold…). Was looking forward to eating lok lok broccoli $6 but was rather disappointed as it’s not crispy / fried long enough and super oily… 😟

My absolute fav Ipoh hor fun with herbal taste and they’re known for their fried fish dumpling. I always order 02. Shredded chicken hor fun with fried fish dumpling and crab meat. Be prepared to queue during lunch time as it’s v popz. I saw their price increase from $4.50 back in interim market to $5 and now $5.50….. but will still come back cuz it’s vvv yummy 🤤 must try!!!

Finally had my craving satisfied!! Went on a Friday night and the queue was so long that we decided to queue for sushiro but ended up waiting almost an hour which was even longer :-( decided to go for late lunch on Sat and waited for about 15 mins. Loooove the shiok maki $18.80+ for the eel one. It’s sinful but really so so good. Decided to be adventurous and try the pidan maki $16.80+ but didn’t really like it. Another must order which I forgot to take pic is the salmon fish head soup (sake atama soup $10+). The portion is so big and the warm soup just makes the meal more hearty. Spent about $27 per pax as we ordered agedashi tofu $5+ as well which could have been skipped given that there was tofu and vege in the soup. A must visit, no service charge!

Banchan was good but the service staff had bad attitude. She kept emphasising that each person must have one order and when my second friend hasn’t arrived she wanted to keep the utensils without even asking… tried the soybean cold noodles $26++ for the first time because it always looks so good on Korean variety show but the bean taste was q strong and not to my liking. Grilled meat $29++ was good. Food was good overall but rather pricey

Chopsuey is a good place to bring your overseas friends to because they have done a v good job in fusion across Asian cuisines. Favourite was the 9pc dim sum basket $26++ and another job well done for the mix of spices in food and sauces. Can give the prawn toasties a miss ($19++ for 4 and +4.50 for extra piece). The fish tofu lasagna $32++ was interesting. And of course don’t forget to order their signature sticky date pudding for dessert since it’s under PS cafe. Good dining experience and ambience. I'm not sure if they regularly change their menu but it was v different from when I first came 2 years back. Nonetheless highly recommend 👍

Ordered curry fish head which I wished they boiled longer before serving because the vege were not fully cooked and the taupok had not soaked in the curry. Curry felt diluted until the end when it was more boiled down. Quite a disappointment cuz most tables ordered it.
Also ordered half a white chicken and deep fried fritters to share which were ok. Oily rice was not bad but white rice was a little hard which was ok after pouring curry over. Total bill was around $55 for 3.

Guo Fu hotpot reopened at Guoco tower with a very nice dining experience but higher prices. Lunch is $33.90++, weekday dinner is $36.90++ and weekend dinner is $39.90++ for classic buffet which does not include individual pot soup base (+$6.90++ or $9.90++ for yuanyang) and drinks. This can easily add up to more than 50 or 60 bucks per pax. Even though variety and xiaolongbao are good, it is a bit pricey and can be more ex than eating at HDL or BIAP. Can try once for experience

$6.50 Ayam penyet fried to perfection. Chicken is soft and tender and skin is crispy. Self service crispy bits were so good, I wish I took more 🤣 chilli acts a kick as well. V satisfying meal

Always craving for pork ribs stew from masizzim!! Both the soy and spicy taste good and it’s a must order! Used to really like the squid and leek pancake because it’s crispy but nowadays it’s a tad too oily for my liking. Pork ribs stew and pancake are more than enough for 2 pax to share (around $18.50 each after ++) because the stew comes with choice of noodles (glass noodles/udon) and a bowl of rice. Queue is still v long during dinner and weekends but not crowded during weekday lunch.

$3.60 for French toast, no ++ here as ordering is done at the kiosk before entering and food is self service. Toast was sinful but soooo good (guess that’s where their name comes from 😂). A good place to come for fuss free dim sum or breakfast.
