Totally enjoyed this modern interpretation of Sichuan cuisine. For us Shangaporeans birds of a feather brought back fond memories of our stay in China, things like cumin for 孜然粉, slimy 山药, eggplant for 茄子. My favorite was the pork trotters in a bag.. Hooray to Fats!
Everything here is good!

Didn't know that The Tiramisu Hero has ventured to overseas. Throughout our tea session, we see frequent turnaround of obvious Japanese fans coming on for a cuppa Tiramisu and coffee. The tiramisu is quite fluffy and comes in various flavour. We chose the original one (if the original can't make it, forget about the rest). Needed a warm bowl of something and found it in Fungs Macaroni Soup. At $8.50, this bowl of goodness comes complete with prawns, fish, cauliflower, and mushrooms swimming in the macaroni soup.
Now comes the BUT. The server seemed to be a daze when serving us, and my bowl of macaroni was the first order I placed, but he basically didn't note it down. After more than half and hour, I have to check again only to realise the order was not placed. Good thing the food made up for the service flaw. I would come again, but will asked for another server.

The other night we went to check out another restaurant opened by ex-Saveur owner before the new year. The dining setting was casual, and the food did not disappoint. I ordered A Bowl of Dylan's Memories that consists of iberico pork chop served with garnishes of various ingredients and was honestly won over. Friends beef cheek melted in her mouth and bowled her over. The appetizer, Grill Avocado is exquisitely served with something I can't remember 😂
Over here they understand that Singaporeans like to #shareshare and allow sharing of appetizers and even expected you to share your mains too.
Service is attentive and the semi casual enviorment puts everyone at ease. Prices are reasonable for affordable French dining. I do recommend that you pay them a visit!

Christmas Day and decided to go to Hua Bee for breakfast, since it seemed so popular whenever I walked past. I was also taking the chance to ask the aunties where's the entrance to Bincho (they called the owner 日本酸梅汤 😂). Because it was still early, I forego the chilli and had ketchup sauce for my #bakchormee Realized it's a mistake later. It turns out to be the blandest #bcm I've ever eaten. Because the soup was pretty much tasteless this early part of the day, I felt that I merely had carbs. Noodles was of good springy texture. Ingredients in the soup are more than your usual.
The aunties are not as pricky in the morning maybe cos there's no crowd. I like the kopi C gosong they made for me.
I'll probably try again next time, at a later timing, and, with chilli?

A Singapore taste that caters to even the Malaysian taste bud. As heard from my dining kaki. Have seen Fook Kin on many Ig posts and have to try it. We chanced upon it on Kiliney Road, and when I saw the sign, I had to rally the rest to try it with me. Succulent #charsiee and #siewyoke is the order of the day, with dishes such as #菜脯蛋, duck salad and salted egg lotus chips. What we love about it is finally it's round table dining, so we get to order and #shareshare. Come and you won't be disappointed. Can reserve one!

Read so much about Dopa Dopa that I jumped at the chance to have it today after having lunch across the road. Today's flavours tried were #avocado Green TeaToasted Rice, Home Roasted Hazelnut and Lemon Basil Sorbet. My companion can vouch how much I adore the ice cream by the number of times I exclaimed 'delicious!'. Definitely will go back for pistachio and other flavors AGAIN!

A small outfit on Duxton Road before Neil Road, Ninja Bowl serves 'bowls' of stuff made of seafood, veggies, toufu and other... stuff. A check on Chinese lifestyle portal Dianping and seems like it's reputable for its brunch selection. Ebisu, one of the top recommendations from Burpple is a nice surprise. Mussles and scallops doused in butter cream sauce was delicious. Cauli pops is a good take on tempura with its slightly spicy mayo dip sauce. Only disappointment is the lemonade soda that wasn't that impressionable (probably cos I didn't stir the concoction?) Overall worth the walk from the train stations if it's not raining.

Kra Pow is found along Orchard Road. No. 1 popular Drunkard Noodle Pork did not disappoint. Squid Tentacles Fritters is a right snack companion. Mango Sticky Rice literally took me back to Thailand (my favorite). Tender Sliced Pork to fill the spot, and Red Ruby with smooth shaved ice in coconut milk to finish. For someone who hasn't been to Thailand for years, I'm a very happy camper!

Happy is finding the place with good food AND good coffee on a Sunday afternoon. Though the wait for food can be long, none of the dishes disappoints. Strawberry Avocado toast started off pretty nicely. And it got better with Mentaiko Royale, truly a delicious surprise. The cafe's popular Creme Brulee French toast was so right for the end. Coffee at this place was good too.
Come before 12.25pm to secure a table.

Finally made it. Funny thing since it's in ma'hood but alot of talkabout never seemed to take me here.

Now on to the cafe. Coffee - Good. Cos they use coffee from Tiong Hoe! I like my benedict egg, however the salted bacon it's a lil too much for me. Friend's crab tartine...LOVE. Best part is definitely their french toast. Die die must try. No regret piling up the carbs. It's so satisfying!

The interior of the restaurant is definitely Instagrammable. Feels like dining in the flapper' 30s with tropical plants popping everywhere. Good mix of locals and expats, but place does get loud after 12.30pm on weekends. You know what to do.

Reliving BBQ meals in Shanghai... this outlet has the vibe and the food. The Bingo game adds to the fun. Located on Liang Seah Street that has transformed into a street plied with popular Chinese food, I'd be sure to come back!
