Location might not be that accessible, but still can’t deny that their Bak Ku Teh is still very popular!

Ordered mee sua, as I’m more of a noodle person rather than rice. Although it’s quite crowded, food are served quite fast and still hot. Super love the peppery and hot soup!

A small little performance by the staff - ā€œsettingā€ fire to burn the chicken before serving it to us. There’s some alcohol taste in the chicken too, try to avoid giving it to children.

Chicken Rice Set Meal - two chicken rice balls, Hainanese steamed chicken, braised pork belly and tau pok soup.

The rice balls were huge and fat, generous portion of rice. The rice were a bit sticky as compared to normal chicken rice. Smooth, tender and boneless steamed chicken makes it perfect for lazy people who doesn’t like to debone chicken before eating, heehee. Unlike usual chicken rice soup which is clear in colour and with some chopped spring onions, this tau pok soup is dark in colour and taste like bak kut teh. Peppery and hot, something new to match with chicken rice. I’m not a fan of braised pork belly, so ya....

Located inside a temple, you might missed out this unique cafe without knowing! It is more than just a cafe, there’s a shop beside it that sells lots of Peranakan items - from clothes to textiles to decorative.

Ordered Laska, Mee Siam and Curry Chicken. Suitable for spicy lovers as the food are all quite spicy. The laska broth is thick and creamy, however there’s no cockles (hum) inside. It’s not an issue for me as I don’t really fancy cockles. I love the achar that comes together with the curry chicken rice, seldom you see achar being served together with curry chicken rice. As for the mee siam, nothing special except for its big portion of mee.

Food is cold, meat is too hard... the only saving point is that the food looks cute

Looking at this glossy shiny beautiful ā€œdonutā€, how can I have the heart to eat it? Too beautiful!

A refreshing taste - lemon mousse inside, covered with strawberry jelly and pistachio sponge.

A bit of everything - duck, char siew and roast pork

The char siew were all burnt, duck too dry and hard to chew. The roast pork nothing special, average. Too overrated - nothing special or unique, yet so expensive
