First time here. We ordered the truffle brocoli along with a cold brew and ice green tea. The drinks were decent but what's most memorable was the truffle brocoli! It was so well-seasoned and the brocolis were really tender. The texture almost reminds me of those fried brocoli you get at lok-loks.
It was so good! Will definetly come back for this. I'm tempted to cook them at home too ^_^ such a great alternative to truffle fries.
Stumbled across this place while I was in the basement of 313 Somerset. Their food selection is really good if you're looking for authentic Korean food. We had the chance to make our own rice balls (which was disastrous) but loads of fun. The highlight for me had to be the cheese egg roll and the beef stew. For a restaurant in Somerset, the prices were also really reasonable and perfect for those looking for good affordable food.
The restaurant is located just a short walk from Botanic Gardens station and has a nice cozy ambiance.
Selection of food is pretty good. My partner and I tried their Denver Wagyu steak and the Auskobe steak which came in a perfect medium rare (not often seen in many singapore steahouses) and we paired it with with a bottle of red wine. The staff were really friendly and gave us recommendations, even allowed us to sample before purchasing the bottle. The steaks are soft and have a good blend of fat and meat which allows them to melt perfectly in your mouth.
Ended the night with the Basque cheesecake which was really soft and creamy.
Place is great for dates and I would totally come back again.
The buttermilk waffles had a nice, crisp exterior yet were still very fluffy inside. I liked that it just had a hint of earl grey flavour and that it wasn’t too overpowering. The tart strawberries balanced out the sweet vanilla ice cream, and everything went well together. Pretty worth it!
The pancake is very crispy on the outside. The flavour is rich and satisfying. Do share with your friends cause one can't finish this alone definitely.
Not one to rest on their laurels, following up from their several successful dessert launches comes this Banana Chocolate Parfait ($8), a bowl that is constructed with chocolate and banana cakes, chocolate mousse and candied walnuts. The unique thing in this (and I am purely guessing) is the lime zest shavings that provides a different flavour profile to cut through the heaviness from the strong flavours coming from the bananas and chocolate.

It's funny how I always end up ordering a bake when I initially ordered only coffee here — my eyes light up whenever something is served to another customer and I immediately ask for one even before knowing what exactly it is. Again, another bake that I wasn't disappointed with — buttery fragrance of the crust and nibs of raspberry for a little tartness that tickles the tastebuds; very good to go along a cup of Flat White indeed.
Saw this purple-y tart here and decided why not give this new tart a try? Liked the mellow sweetness that the sweet potato lends to the tart — the mousse of the sweet potato mixed with white chocolate for that smooth texture. Yet another choice to choose from if it's in the display drawers the next time I am here!
One of the not-so-familiar tarts that was sitting in the display cabinet during my visit today.
A smooth, chocolatey layer that sits beneath the crumbly surface over the top (like a Soft but rich warm brownie), the tart also comes with chunks of soft and subtly sweet caramalised pears for some bite. The tart base is the usual; crusty and buttery and crumbles down neatly — the tart that would work well with chocolate lovers with a slight twist!
I had a Tempura Kake Soba (a slight change from the pre-set menu) because I was craving for something hot and soupy, and yes, it didn't disappoint.
Using a mixture of buckwheat flour imported from Yamanashi, Tochigi and Hokkaido, the soba here is made daily at the shop. It had a good texture, though I would have preferred a slightly (even) firmer bite, and it was surprisingly light on the palate. The Kansai-style MSG-free dashi broth was also another highlight of the dish with its smooth yet bold flavour. There were also some orange peels on top that gave a good refreshing addition to the broth.
The tempura itself was pretty good with my favourite being the juicy chicken and pumpkin. I found the oyster mushroom tempura to be rather "annoying" for it was quite difficult to find the right way to bite it. But aside of that trivial complaint of mine, the tempura was enjoyable with very very little trace of oil and I really enjoyed dipping the tempura into the dashi broth as well.
I would definitely love to try their other dishes here and I think, they have set quite a high standard for other soba shops in town.

This is an absolute win!
Because they use sliced banana bread to make the French toast, the texture is a little heavier but oh boy, does it smell great!
Piped on top is a generous amount of fluffy mascarpone that's been showered with freeze-dried raspberries and a bit of thyme - what a brilliant match. Ditto the rich coffee custard served on the side.
If you can't live without ice-cream, there's the option to add a scoop of their signature flavor, a collaborative effort between VXX Cooperative and Apiary, for just $4.
I wasn't a fan of apple tarts until I had this, which had the smooth soft thinly sliced apple served on crispy tart base, then sprinkled with cinnamon.
