Tried @craftsmenspecialtycoffee last weekend after “jalanjalanning” around Robertson Quay. Okay, we went there purposely to look for another cafe and saw this so...ta-dah! It was sooo humid we decided on iced coffees. They were 👌🏻👌🏻👅 And don’t the eggs look appetising? And because we liked the coffee we went to their Clarke Quay branch (which was closer) yesterday to try the hot coffee. Aaand we wanted to go there again today but they open at 8:30AM, so too late for the working man 😛😕

Flat white was not as velvety as expected, but was okay. You can order the pastry alone and top up for the add-ons. I am not too fond of the sausages, maybe next time will try bacon 🥓 Scrambled egg was good. .

“Otousan” is the Japanese word for “Father”, but I don’t know why they named this dish that. I would think of it more as a “Mother” because it was like comfort in a bowl. ☺️ The chicken thigh is slow cooked, and seems like the veggies were too because they were a little on the soft side, okay not a little. I would’ve preferred them to be more firm. $16 for a bowl of comfort. Served with sourdough toast.

That’s the actual name of this dish (minus the !). French toast accompanied with maple-glazed pork belly, momo tomatoes, rocket, pomegranate & burrata (cheese). The blend of sweet and salty was good. And it made for a very good morning indeed. $20 a pop.

We wanted to try the Tamago Sandwich after seeing it on @sgfoodonfoot ’s IG, but everything on the menu was just as interesting so we decided to save the Tamago Sandwich for next time (save the best for last?)😁

[2] Chopsuey - stir fried vegetable dish with meat and shrimp. .
[3] The Spread - Bangus Sisig (milk fish on a sizzling plate, an alternative to the more popular pork sisig); Grilled Squid (grilled sotong); Sugba Kilaw (a different take on kinilaw or ceviche, with grilled pork or ‘sinugba’ added); rice! 🍚 .
