Yikes Not worth it. Crowded place. The unagi has scales and the food is basically microwave and touched. The onsen egg is nice. Would be my last time there.

Unagi bowl Tried the unagi bowl with the set. The egg omelet is a good combination. And love the Japanese pickles. The ingredient aren’t Amazing but it’s nice. Honestly the set isn’t that cheap but it’s still a good lunch option for when you feel like having a larger variety.

Kaisendon burpple set Got my favourite main from the burpple set choices — the kaisendon with steam gyoza and salad and miso soup and tea For the amount of food you are getting the burpple deal is really worth and I like the kaisendon is pretty decent. I prefer the gyoza over the yakiniku sticks offered at other outlets. Around $34 for two sets which is ok for locations too.

Yummy Sushi Rolls (with a price tag) Tucked in a quiet corner of Far East Plaza, the sushi bar serves sashimi and sushi at slightly premium prices. Pictured here are 3 sushi rolls served on a common plate that would be about approx $62 after service charge and GST. The sushi rolls were however, quite delicious and fresh.

salmon don (22++) sushi bar is truly a hidden gem found in far east plaza! salmon on the don was fresh and thick cut, with perfectly cooked japanese rice underneath. service was excellent as well, sushi bar is my go-to for birthday celebrations! 🤍

House Pour Sake We saw outside that there was happy hour for sake on Mondays to Thursdays and we decided to give it a go as $5++ for a cup is relatively cheap for alcohol! Sake was very light although the taste of alcohol was much more prominent than that in other sake drinks, which may or may not be to everyone's liking. We also did not ask the staff which sake drink was this, hence we are not even sure if the drink is from the hakushika distillery.

Great Ambience! I had the cappuccino and it was perfect! The owners were really friendly as well! Nice, homely place :)

Waffles and Ice Cream A neighbourhood cafe that serves desserts, drinks as well as snackers/mains. They even make bubble tea with an assortment of toppings! The interior is themed, suitable for people who want to take photos for Instagram. The ice-cream is fat free and hence supposedly less sinful. Will be back for that cozy/homely feeling. What's better is that they open until 3am for those who want supper in Toa Payoh.

Ondeh Ondeh Dessert always great choice here when crave for something sweet. Tried the $6 a slice then, self help iced water. Really hidden gem.

辣子鸡 I was craving this after the Labula one. This looks paler and the taste corresponded. It's less intense, like the usual flavours didn't enter the meat, but still a decent rendition lah.

Lamb Rib Skewer They recently started a BBQ menu, which we're delighted with. But this skewer was a waste of money. More expensive but like rubber.

The pig skin came soft, which was nice, but hardened soon. The pork was good despite the absence of fats. Avoid the bread as it's not crispy and more like French toast.

Rendang burger ($~25) 🍔 7/10 This burger was not very special with its small patty. However, it was bursting with flavour from its overflowing rendang sauce and had fries that were nicely thick and crispy.

Caramelised pork shortrib ($~30) 🍖 6/10 The menu claimed the shortrib was supposed to be caramelised but I didn't find it caramelised at all! The meat did come off the ribs easily but the meat wasn't very tender either. At least the rice was quite fragrant with its perankan-style flavouring and colouring.

Flower crab bisque ($~14) 🦀 10/10 The soup had a strong crab flavour while remaining rich and thick with a full flavour profile. It went well with the cripsy wonton in the middle of the bowl.

Vanilla Panna Cotta with housemade sorbet! Despite its flavor being covered by the sorbet and the jam, the panna cotta itself is so soft and silky! #igotfoodcoma

Salmon Steak (S$19.80) Look nice doesn’t mean taste nice. A good shop for deserts but as for mains... perhaps nay.

Birthday Dinner with Family 😍 Ondeh-Ondeh Lava Cake with a scoop of Ferrero ($14.80) . Special flavor & indeed it flowsssss 😄 Too bad this was too ‘slummy’ 😏 Think the original Chocolate Lava Cake still the best 🍰 Hotplate Marble Beef (210g) ($30.80) . This steak was superbly soft! Love the mushroom flavored rice too 🐮 Seafood Alfredo Linguine ($14.80) . The cream sauce was not too ‘jerlut’ but quite a number of ‘empty’ clams 😕 Buffalo Wings ($10.80) . So so only. Not crispy & not really fantastic 🐔 It was a rather ‘warm’ dining experience due to air-con breakdown 😓 But the service staff was friendly 🙂 #burpple

Not Fantastic Burpple Beyond deal was limited to only crab and seafood (mix of crab + lobster) rolls. I tried the Maine-style seafood roll. I liked the bread which was toasted and buttered, but I felt they could be more generous with the amount of lobsters (only 2-3 pieces in the roll). For $25 it is very pricey but thankfully we had the deal so it wasn’t so bad.

Lobster Rolls used beyond 1f1 deal and opted for the maine-style lobster rolls this time! very tasty and decent portion of lobster 😋 mentaiko version definitely worth trying if you’re a fan 👍🏻

Dinner @ 13 Stages Lovely, 13 stages add more variety to the already popular Chicken Rice. We order Imperial Ginger Chicken Rice ( Like Hainanese chicken but with an added flavour of ginger) and Steamed Cod Fish Rice ( It taste like slice fish with its noodle soup with milk but more concentrated). Will love to see this variation in all chicken rice stall with hawker stall prices.

Ginger Chicken Noodles Their menu is decorated with photos of chicken leg cooked in various styles. So when I saw the noodles options without description and photos but almost similar cost to rice, I expected to be served something similar to the photos, except with noodles instead of rice. To my disappointment, unlike their rice options, instead of serving with chicken leg, the noodles is served with shredded chicken. While the taste is pleasant, $8.90 for shredded chicken is a bit overpriced.

Angsty Service Staff Ok la, food quite nice. But the guy taking the order macam PMS, very angry at people for using burpple beyond. Impression destroyed right from the get go. Pity ah pity

Spicy Chirashi Bowl Nibbler knows she should have tried out the beef bowl at Waa Cow! but their chirashi bowl is very fresh and worth every bit of her cholesterol. They don’t skimp on the sashimi/seafood and they have piled up so much collagen goodness in this bowl. A definite mood lifter for anyone.

Truffle Wagyu Sukiyaki Don [$19.90] Truffle beef sukiyaki don. Love the aroma from the truffle and the slightly sweetened (from the sukiyaki tare) thinly sliced wagyu beef. Break the yolk and every bite was heavenly. Scallions add a beautiful finish! Available in 3 flavours - original ($16.90), spicy mentaiko ($18.90) and truffle.

Poor Taste And Waiting Time Ordered matcha latte and sea salt latte. Waited a long time for both drinks. Taste was poor and diluted. They even had doubts on how to make the drinks!

Mocha [~$6] With the Burpple Beyond app, you get to enjoy your coffee fix for a steal. Sadly, the mocha was pretty bad with lousy chocolate syrup added that tasted pretty weird.

White 5oz They serve rice bowls here and the coffee is pretty decent.
