The OCBC credit card offer on S$17++ for set lunch for 2 caught our attention for a gd lunch deal. As the burgers are one of their signatures so we tried Teriyaki Pork Burger when the waitress advised that beef is not available at the moment.
GD: fries are crispy & tasty, ambience is nice, should be a popular ground for soccer fans, as they offer kinds of wines and beers.
BAD: The word Teriyaki give the impression that the burger should be sweeter but end up quite sour and the staff advise it's normal. For those who doesn't like sour. Don't try this.
Secondly, they don't offer plain water but the most cheapest soft drink or coffee will cost you S$6 which I find it quite ex. Try others on the menu instead.
Cafe Cartel has wonderful main course for lunch & dinner, today I have chance to try out their breakfast set. Prices as follows:
Chicken patty with hash brown, French toast & scramble egg @ S$6.90. Added another S$0.50 to upgrade for hot chocolate or cappuccino. Ultimate delight meal includes pancakes, french toast with bacon & sausage @ S$7.50. The pricing is relatively cheap & reasonable but I may have higher expectations compared to the rest of the menu. Wasn't enjoying the meal due to several reasons. Eggs served was not consistently warm or hot but one was cold and the other set was ok. The cuppa 's milk foam (as shown) was over steam. The staff also forgot to serve the sugar. The sets comes with mini sweet bun with butter spread which I quite enjoyed but one is serve soft and warm, the other which was serve later was cold and hard. I was there early morning around 9am and the ambience and music was nice. It's was not crowded but experience could have been better. Coz, if I were to compare, I believe Ya-Kun or Toastbox would be my preferred choice for a hearty breakfast. Which true enough, Toastbox was full house early morning at level 1 of the mall. The ice-cream waffle was served hot thus this was the only dish that serves us well.
One of the originals menu @ Swensens. Love it since more than 10 years ago and now it's still my fave.
Weather is hot nowadays, have a cooling ice chocolate
A rich creamy mushroom soup serve in sourdough Bread bowl.
Fragrance Braised Pork Rib Bee Hood from Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe @ S$11.50. If you don't mind oily and bit salty due to the braised sauce, thus can be quite a fulfilling meal.
Another breakfast tryout at D. O. C, S$18.50 for this Platter, I found it quite costly, compared with other meals which might include a nice coffee with this cost. However I do like the tomato which is quite juicy matching with thick Ham, egg, & toast.
Saw this recommendation from burpple and tried. Cinnamon favoured taste, soft inside n good combination of sweetness in bananas with the waffle. S$13.50 is on mid high side but worth a try
