I had such a great time over at @hvala_sg, indulging in all their signature treats which include Matcha Hojicha tea latte, Matcha Mont Blanc, and Hojicha Petit Gateau.
I’ve probably found my sweet heaven and their hojicha bakes warrant many revisits for sure! They make such perfect bite-sized desserts which are so awfully tasty 😍 If you haven’t tried their hojicha petit gateau, you are defo missing out!
Our favorite one would definitely be their matcha flavor, despite it being milder versions that I’ve tried, we loved how the ratio of cream to bun was a consistent 2:1 and how they did not scrimp in the fillings department. Overall, the taste was not overly sweet and very very yummy.
Crispy chicken thigh smothered with garlic aioli, embraced between soft sesame buns, uumm. This impeccably fried chicken with generous dollops of garlic aioli sauce hit all the right tummy spots.
The custard cream is irresistibly oomph with its awfully light and sweet interior. I love the crumbly and crispy exterior actually, giving the puff an extra sweet crunch when eaten altogether.
We are creatures of habit and I absolutely love and will order this each time we’re here – pistachio (+ $1) x roasted hojicha! This combination sent me to ice cream paradise and these lil balls of happiness are both very pronounced in terms of flavor.
Pistachio was creamy yet not overly dense while roasted hojicha was the yummiest with a strong aftertaste of green tea and just so nutty. It paired so well with their freshly-made thyme cone!
This time around, we got their signature steak and bowl, big breakfast set, and ice cafe latte! Everything tasted rly good and hearty :) Beef slices were tender and juicy.
This was the first time I (finally) tried the tomato sukiyaki hamburg and honestly speaking, I was blown away entirely! I rly love thick tomato broth and they totally nailed it 💯
The robust flavor of the tomato broth and coupled with all the right ingredients, it was rly a delightful meal.
Fluffy and soft swiss roll in chocolate swirls, I’m a bias cake-holic. Before you all claim, “aigoo, kaya is the nicest la!” I love that too but I like how the chocolate is not even sweet at all which made it not cloying, even after my 3rd roll 🌝
We loved how they fry their chix to the perfect crisp and with juicy insides. We picked the boneless series in their signature Louisiana rub, garlic parmesan and kecap manis 🔥 My favorite choice will be their Louisiana rub for its classic spicy yet savory taste. It never goes wrong with this one hehe. Their mushroom fritters! are! the! absolute! best!! They burst out with sweet juices when we sank our teeth on it and the mushrooms were all coated evenly with light batter!
Got the medium bowl ($8.5) to try and it was heavenly. The heat sapped every last ounce of energy we had and having this ice-cold, creamy and wholesome acai bowl was a brilliant idea. There were generous chunks of granola with cacao nibs and swirls of almond butter on top!
Weekend delight over at @thepublicizakaya! It was a fantastic experience with an awesome, delectable meal.
We ordered their mentaiko rosti and deep-fried tori karaage! Swipe left to see how gigantic it was and we loved how fresh, juicy, and moist the chicken meat was. Aah, defo good for sharing! Mentaiko rosti was insanely good in my books and paired absolutely well together. Our hearts are so so full, alongside our tummies 😌
Ordered 250g of Medium Ribeye Steak and it was very succulent and tender. Totally exceeded my expectations. For the priced paid, it was jolly well worth it!
BBQ chicken chop was very soft and chewy. Love it equally much too. Wished their sides will be given more haha.
