Breakfast & Brunch

For Celebrations Over Fancy Brunch Pen this cheery cafe down for your next birthday bash. Here's why: it’s spacious, the floral table decorations are ideal aesthetics for that Insta-worthy flatlay, and the menu has something for all. Go with the Breakfast Board, which allows you to build your own platter with a minimum of five items (from RM6 each), from eggs to turkey ham and baked beans. We also love that there are healthy options, such as fresh fruit and yoghurt. If you're a fan of waffles, get the one-of-a-kind Thosai Waffle (RM20) served with chicken or beef curry, coconut and tomato chutney. Photo by Burppler Farah Aziz

Big Breakfast Platter Finally tried out this brunch place a few months ago. We could pick our own 5 sides if I remember correctly. I thought it looked small at first, then I couldn’t finish it because it was a lot 😅

French Toast Bread Pudding (MYR27), not your typical french toast! Mixed berries compote and whipped cream spread on sourdough, decorated with crushed walnuts, pistachio and edible flowers. Super soft bread with a layer of sourish jam helps balance out the sweetness, as toasted nuts add a crunch to this gooey dessert. • Fancy Breakfast Club Address: 6, Jalan Telawi 2, Bangsar Baru, Kuala Lumpur 59100, Malaysia #fancybreakfastclub #softservexkl #casstravel🇲🇾

For a Refined Omakase Experience If you enjoy sushi omakase, this restaurant deserves the top spot on your wishlist. Tokyo-based Taka by Sushi Saito, touted to be the best Japanese restaurant in the world, opened its first international outpost this year in KL's St. Regis Hotel. The venue is tastefully outfitted — spot the lacquer doors and dining counters fashioned from 300-year-old hinoki wood. Helmed by three-star Michelin chef Saito, the omakase-only restaurant combines fresh ingredients (handpicked by chef Saito himself from Japan's Tsukiji Market) with the techniques of skillful sushi chefs to serve sushi aficionados. For special occasions with a loved one, the exclusive experience that Taka offers is one worth saving up for. If you're lucky, you might even get a taste of the chef's especially famous tuna sushi and Edo-style sushi, a preference for smaller cuts of fish with a touch of sea salt. Call ahead for reservations, as the private dining space only seats 16. Avg price per person: RM1000 Photo by Burppler Amayzing

Onigiri Salmon After having their desserts, I felt to have one of the onigiri. So the waiter suggested me to try out their Onigiri Salmon, it taste really nice and is just costs RM5. The salmon is bit salty but it taste really good when eating with the rice and seaweed. Must go for a try if you really love to eat Onigiri. 8/10

High Tea Set A First time visiting here after my work. I have order their high tea set. They do have two high tea set and is only able from 3pm to 6pm. I have choose their Gen Maicha green tea with their best seller dessert Strawberry Daifuku (RM14.20). The Strawberry Daifuku is actually a mochi that stuffed with red bean paste and strawberry. I loved it so much. Highly recommend. I will definitely come back again to try their others signature dishes. 8/10

Omakase lunch set (RM148+ per pax) . . The special part of this 8 course meal was: The ingredients are commonly known/ used ie. Tabasco sauce and Soyu, but in a form of jelly and mousse (and I was like: whaaaaaat?) . Perfect presentation and yet not overly done, every single dish is just awesome! . . Second visit and still loving the dining experience here (ps: more choices for omakase dinner set) . . #chienfoodhuntadventure #neverknowhowtostopeating#burpple#burpplekl#omakase#souomakasedining#oyster#sashimi#thegardensmallmy

Located on the first floor, Uroko offers a variety of liquor and wine, seasonal dishes and your usual go-tos Japanese dishes. Prices are slightly on the high side but it’s worth the moolah.

Salmon Yee Sang (RM118) Definitely the best I’ve had during this CNY season, just look at the thick slabs of salmon, diced chunka idako and chuka kurage. The waitress completes the Yee Sang with abundance of blessings.

For a Fantastic Mentai Rice Bowl Four years on and this casual Japanese eatery in Plaza Damas still rakes in the masses for their famed Mentai Rice (RM19). Look forward to thick slabs of tamago veiled in creamy flamed mentai, which Burppler Joey Tee dubs as "absolutely delicious and addictive". Burppler Carmen Chan recommends pairing it with the Grilled Squid (RM25). Sashimi fans, order the Uokatsu Don (RM29) featuring fresh chunks of sashimi and a handful of seaweed. Favourite mentai rice (Rating:5/5🌟) This place is my favourite place for Japanese casual meal. Absolutely delicious and addictive. Mentai Rice (rm19) Basically Pollock roe, the salted roe of Alaska Pollock on tamago on a bed of rice. Simply and yet delicious! I completely fell in love with this dish 😍 Grilled whole Japanese squid (rm24) was good as well. Teriyaki cod (rm50+) medium size was not bad but not worth the price.

A balanced meal, I would say 🤣. . . My favourite mentai rice, with lots and lots of cabbage and sashimi. . . You will be surprised by the crowd here... and then you think: strategic location is not really important, if your food is real good. . . #chienfoodhuntadventure #neverknowhowtostopeating#burpple#burpplekl#uokatsu#mentairice#japanese#plazadamas3
