This is probably one of the most satisfying plates of sinful goodness I've ever had. The hokkien mee literally screams wok hey.

In my opinion, I dare say this is probably the best hokkien mee you can find in Singapore, with Tiong Bahru Yi Sheng Fried Hokkien Mee coming in 2nd. The only issue is the steep price, as this small plate costs $6 already.

4+U Bar & Kitchen is a fairly new café in Tiong Bahru, located just about a 5 minutes walk away from Tiong Bahru MRT station.

The interior of the café is decorated with a clean white theme. The orange lighting makes it a cosy and comfortable environment to relax and dine in.

We tried the Pork Mania sandwich. It consists of a rustic baguette with BBQ pulled pork and mesclun salad. You also get to have a choice between homemade mayo-sriracha or mayo-honey for the sauce. It also comes with some BBQ potato chips. Personally, I decided on the mayo-sriracha and it went really well with the pulled pork. I also loved how the baguette was still warm, having a sturdy exterior and a soft and fluffy interior.

We tried the Breakfast Smoked Salmon Benedict and it was a simple and yummy dish. It's our first time seeing eggs benedict served with 3 cute croissants do it was quite interesting. $9.80 for it is really affordable as well.

Finally got to try Omoté after they rebranded from Sushiro and moved into their new spot. The restaurant is much larger now so queues aren't as insane as before. Their rice bowls are still amazing for their prices, though I can't help but feel that the amount of sashimi has gone down a little..

This dish boasts both quantity and quality. Definitely one of the better pork ribs I've had so far in Singapore. The glaze complements the ribs nicely as well. Definitely another good choice along with their wagyu beef cheek.

In my opinion, this is probably SONS' best dish. The wagyu beef cheek is so tender that it's not an exaggeration to say that you don't need a knife to eat it. If there's only one dish you can try from SONS, this is the dish.

Overall an ok dish, but there was a pretty overwhelming cheesy taste present. The foie gras was good though (despite it's small quantity).

Unlike many of the reviews here, this dish was pretty decent to me. And it certainly did not leave behind a pool of oil.

However, the sea urchin taste wasn't really strong so it tasted a little similar to a standard carbonara. Overall it's a decent dish, but there's really nothing special about it.

The picture says it all. $3 for 5 fresh slices of salmon sashimi at Standing Sushi Bar every Monday and Thursday. The four of us literally just had 20 slices of sashimi each for dinner.

To add on, you can always wash down the sashimi with $2 sake or $5 beer, wine, hot sake, or umeshu.

Dopa Dopa is located just about a 3 minutes walk away from Clarke Quay MRT and they serve a variety of homemade, natural & unique gelato flavours.

We had the Pistachio, Green Tea, Hojicha and Banana flavours. All 4 flavours were really good and tasted true to their description/name. For example, you can taste a strong nutty flavour from the Pistachio gelato and a roasted tea flavour from the Hojicha gelato.

With their unique flavours and thick consistencies, their homemade gelatos rank among the top few in Singapore to me! Also, expect to see new flavours pop up every few months!

Great place for brunch/coffee. Came here around 3pm on a Thursday and it wasn't crowded at all. The staff was really welcoming and the ambience was pretty laidback and chill.

Overall a little pricey but the quality of their drinks and food makes up for it. Wanted to try their filter coffee but they were sold out by the time we reached :(

Regardless, their other coffee options like Magic (12RM) and Latte (RM10.5) were good as well. The Melbourne Signature Hotcake (RM23) had a nice crispy/crunchy exterior and a soft buttery interior. Blueberries were infused within the hotcake and it was topped with strawberries, pomegranate seeds and nuts.

Will definitely be back to try their filter coffee and quesadilla next time!
