Waaaa this Thai boat noodles is so flavourful! Located at the newly opened Our Tampines Hub, the pork Thai glass noodles stood out in the Hawker centre.

Noodles: The texture is the kind you find in Thailand, like vermicelli but with a springy texture! It also absorbed the broth that came with it, making it more tasty! For those with a sweet tooth (like me) I recommend adding a bit of sugar to every spoonful of noodles!

Soup: a broth which I think uses pork as a base. Both rich tasting and savoury yet light, i quickly slurped down the entire bowl!

Egg: it's not like those ramen egg, but they added soft boiled eggs which added a different layer of taste and texture.

Pork: The meat was alright, and has a good bite to it! Goes really well with the soup!

Price: $5 (with added egg)
Personal grade: A-!

It was amazing! Easily one of the most fluffy pancakes you ever tasted! A must try!

Pancakes: So fluffy and buttery! It has superbly light texture to it, yet every mouthful is so rich!

Maple syrup: From your everyday market, the maple is a bit sweet for my liking but it goes really well with the buttery pancakes!

Price: $12 before GST

When I saw it at Compass Point: Kopitiam, we knew we had to order one to try because it is so affordable! We ordered the chocolate brownie version!

Shaved ice covered with cocoa powder and chocolate shavings: My Friend choked on the powder first thing, so I tried using the milk given to drench the mixture but it bounced off the powder! A tip is to soak a spoonful of the ice covered powder in the given milk before consumption! The slightly bitter chocolate shavings gave it an added texture and depth to the overall bite.

Brownie: It was a bit dry, but the milk helped made it a bit fudgier!

Price: $8

There was a queue so my friends and I decided to try! It's just opposite Great World City shopping centre!

Rice: The taste of the yam rice is subtle, but it was a bit dry.
Duck meat: Slightly fatty, but it had a herbal aftertaste which was pleasant!
Char Siew: The texture of the meat was good but it was a bit dry. It was quite flavourful.

Price: $4 (with added Char Siew)

Serving us till 12am, 2+1 Cafe offered us 3 scoops of ice cream for $10! Located at The Woodgrove in Woodlands, this dainty cafe offered the perfect space for our HTHT session.

Salted Caramel: The texture was consistent, with a strong salty caramel aftertaste.

Thai milk tea: The texture was mildly inconsistent, but the taste made up for it with a heavily sweetened tea aftertaste you find in the streets of Bangkok.

Durian: The texture wasn't as good as the above two, as the ice cream falls apart as soon as it reached our tables. Again, the flavour made up for it, but having a more subtle durian taste as compared to other shops.

Salted caramel: A
Durian: B
Thai Milk Tea: B+

Located some distance away (walkable distance) from Parkway Parade, Birds of Paradise offers ice cream that combines your oh-so usual flavours like strawberry with floral elements! There's White Chrysanthemum, and others flavours mixed with figs.

I had the Pandan flavour and it was not as outstanding as the other floral flavours. Do check them out!

Price: Single scoop costs $4.70

Personal Grade (White chrysanthemum): A+

This is my second time at Ramen Santouka @ Clarke Quay The Central.
Dish breakdown:
Ramen with Shio Broth: The lightly salted broth tasted incredibly smooth, with a pork flavour aftertaste. The taste of the ramen was a bit disappointing - a rather bland addition to the dish. The ramen's texture is chewy - definitely freshly made!

Pork cheeks: The highlight of the dish! However, comparing to the previous time I had this today's pork cheeks did not taste as flavourful. The marination on the pork was mild. However, the pork was so tender that it melts as soon as you bite into it!

Overall, I paid about $30 with this set together with a ramen egg and Gyoza as a side dish. Very satisfying meal on a Friday night with a couple of friends :)
