Nestled away in a cosy coffee shop in Block 7 Eunos Crescent, this young hawker serves up this hearty and comforting bowl of BCM! I added two fishballs for a dollar which totalled it up to $4.50. What blew me away was the QQ texture of the noodles! I loved it as it was cooked perfectly and it was made smooth and slippery to glide down your throat. There were 3 dumplings which had a hint of salted fish which made it incredibly fragrant. I loved the generous amount of bakchor scattered throughout the soup as it was tasty and tender! The fishballs were nothing to shout about so I might just give that a miss the next time I visit! This would be an incredibly heartwarming soup on cold days we have been experiencing recently! (8.5/10!)
This was absolutely delicious! This dish had chopped mushrooms lining the bottom with a choice of chicken or beef sausage as well as a creamy and cheesy miso butter on top, which were all in a buttered and grilled brioche bun. I opted for the Beef sausage which came in a crisp outer layering which burst upon every bite. It was juicy and had just enough flavour without it being too salty! Every bite was laden with truffle flavour which made it so enjoyable! Overall, an immensely enjoyable order (9/10) and I would definitely order this again!
Tried the San Salsiccia pizza and it was a party of flavours in my mouth. The Italian sausage had a deep meaty flavour, which was complemented by the crunchy texture of the caramelised onions and tanginess of the fennel. To top it all off, the dollops of ricotta cheese provided the right amount of saltiness to the dish. Pizza crust was just right and had a nice chew to it. 10/10 please get this if youāre here you will not regret it.
Compared to LINO, the menu here is definitely more expansive and innovative. Service was impeccable - had a chat with the owner who is extremely hospitable, humble and really passionate about his food! The restaurant is located along the river so you get great views when dining as well. I can imagine the ambience at night being very chill and romantic āŗļø
We used Burpple Beyond and the bill came up to be
Squid Ink Spaghetti & Clams: Another dish they got it absolutely right. The squid ink was infused in the pasta itself (and not the sauce) which we understood was flown in fresh from Italy. This allowed the flavour of the squid ink to be more deeply infused into the dish. Also great for those who fear getting āblack mouthā as thereās no black sauce. The star of the dish was the crispy crumble on top, which was a medley of garlic, bread crumbs and other ingredients that were made in-house. 9/10 - an unassuming dish but packed full of umami!
We got this dish as the owner recommended us to try a pasta along with the pizza. It was a great suggestion as my friend and I would have been too full with two full-sized pizzas at lunchtime! This is their best-selling pasta and it is definitely a must-try.
Super happy I found this place! Enjoyed my meal so much and would go back again to try the other dishes. Donāt dismiss it even though itās not as popular as other Italian restaurants like LINO or La Nonna (yet) š
Note: It gets busier towards late afternoon & closer to dinnertime so recommend to go in the early afternoon!
Great recommendation from the staff! It is definitely worth 5 stars!
Baby Huey ($18!)
One of the best burgers I had! My friend and I were completely wowed the moment we took our first bite. The bun was buttered before toasting and the patty was nicely crisp at the edges but juicy in the middle. What really blew us away was the SAUCE!!!! It was creamy and savoury all at once and it complemented the pickled onions so well. We loved every bite. While it might be slightly pricey, we decided itās definitely worth every cent. Will come back again (10/10)
Naughty Fries ($14 before gst)
Really enjoyed this one! I was surprised at the taste because I was expecting something spicy with a kick but to me, it was cheesier than expected! It was a mixture of cheese, spice, minced beef, shallots, spring onions and chopped chilli! The potatoes were irregularly cut which added some form of texture than the ordinary straight cut fries. They also kept the potato skin which made it even crispier! Every bite contained the cheesy sauce with just enough shallots and beef to give you a mouthful of texture and flavour! 9/10 from me! :)
It was ~$10 for this chocolate lava cookie with a premium scoop. The cookie was really good as it was warm and contrasted the ice cream coldness very well! It was slightly crispy and added much dimension and texture to the dish. Topped with a crunch, which was chopped peanuts I assume, it made the dish very yummy! The only qualm about this was that the pistachio ice cream did not live up to my expectations! I had better pistachio scoops out there so that was the negative point for me!
This beef pho was not only very affordable (even without burpple), it was also very yummy! The soup was light and refreshing without it being too jelat or salty! It contained the right amount of savoury tones and beefy taste! I enjoyed it thoroughly and what made it even better was the Burpple deal. Overall, the noodles were good and soft while the ambience was a chill and nice place to just hang out and chat with your friends! Enjoyed it :)
I loved this dish! It was so savoury with minced pork bits and had the right amt of sweetness and texture from the pumpkin! At the back is the classic Garlic Snowing Pizza which was good as always! Loved how the crisp fried garlic slices added a ton of flavour to the dish, along with the sweetness from the pineapple. The latter can be slightly gelat after a while but is definitely worth the try! Surprisingly, I preferred the Spicy Pumpkin Cream Pizza because it was more savoury than sweet, as compared to the Garlic Snowing Pizza which had sweeter notes to it
With BURPPLE Beyond, I enjoyed two medium Acai bowls(Ironman and Supermodel) and 2 teas for $13! It was really quite worth it and it was delicious as well! The only improvement I would suggest would be to include a nut butter within the preset combination!
