So glad they bring this back!! The moment i took my first bite, I'm like maaaaannn this is bomb-good, I'd need another one. It's super flavorful, creamy with strong salted egg flavour, if anything, I'd wish they batter-fry the shrimps. The salted egg flavour was even stronger than those famous salted egg chicken rice!

Usually I would add either parmesan cheese or at least chili sauce to my pasta, but this one was perfect by itself. But then i guess chefs know their portioning better than we do, it's quite filling towards the end. So no, i didn't get another plate. 😅

Maaannn they nailed it! Their rendition of nasi lemak burger is SO GOOD!! Chicken was huge, crispy outside - tender and juicy inside with strong 'lemak' [coconut base] flavour, topped with sunny side up, sambal, cucumber and generous caramelised onions! It even better than some of the nasi lemak around! Me? will definitely catch a few of more of this burger before it's gone. [not so much for the set tho]

ps: if you're a small eater, might wanna consider sharing this cos it gets a little bit too-much towards the end. probably cos the flavour was so strong.

Fishball texture was rather thick - not so bouncy - the kind I love! Already good by itself [kinda reminds me of my hometown pride, pempek. Then you get to them roe! 😍😍😍 them generous flavorful roe within. I really need to know when they start selling this in frozen packs.

So if you've been following my ig stories, you'd know that i took half-day leave today, came home to an amazing surprise - my parents! Then we went to have dinner and yes! Twas my first time in Hai Di Lao.

I must say their chicken soup is SO GOOD. Super flavourful! Also, their mala soup spiciness is no joke - even when we ordered the normal one. And i need to mention this, their service is remarkable. So good you won't complain they charge it to your bill.

After a good 6hrs on the bus we decided that that a feast over peranakan food is the way to go. So there we were with duck soup, prawn petai, ayam buah keluwak, shirmp omelette, kangkong, nyonya chap chye, and michael jackson! The highlight was definitely shrimp petai and ayam buah keluak.

Maan, we eat like mad. And that, was just the start. Things went a lil bit out of control afterwards as the night market starting 😅.

Ah chew dessert is undeniably one of the top dessert place in my list - the one I hardly say no to! Their durian dessert is seriously THE BEST. For those non-durian eater out there, they also serve nice mango and other chinese desserts [hot n cold]. One of those rare place that attracts both young n old! ❤ 👆 Saturday night, well spent! Post-buffet dessert in the middle of the (closed) street with good weather, and nice catch-up which involves a lot of laughter. 🤓 [we're so retarded the next table judge us 😅]

Rather sceptical of this stall before, but decided to give it a try after looking at the boiling pan full of this red thing for a few seconds with growling stomach. Bowl was quite small and this kimchi packed ddeokbboki was spicier than expected! [In a good way]. I like how the kimchi pieces are flavor-packed but remains crunchy. 😍

Gave this a try in their air-conditioned Toa Payoh outlet. Chicken was tender and well seasoned eventhough i ordered the breast part [yes, even the thick-chunky part], portion was decent, chili was kicking good, and price-wise, they're not that different from typical hawker chicken rice! The best part is they have free chicken-rice-soya-sauce on their condiments stall!

Ps. Requesting any specific part of the chicken [thigh/breast] is subject to an additional 50cents charge.
